Introduction

The HI6000 modular multiparameter meters from Hanna Instruments offer a highly flexible platform that can be customized to meet the specific measurement and application needs of any laboratory. With four distinct measurement modules (pH/ORP, pH/ORP/ISE, EC, and DO) and compatible sensors, the HI6000 provides fast and reliable measurements displayed on a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen. The touchscreen supports multi-touch functionality, video playback, and graph plotting.

The meter comes with an electrode holder featuring a flexible arm for secure and convenient electrode placement during measurements.

HI6000-4 Module: DO (% Sat, mg/L, ppm), BOD (ppm, mg/L), OUR (ppm, mg/L), SOUR (ppm, mg/L), Pressure (mmHg, mbar, kPa, inHg, psi, atm)

Application-specific profiles allow for quick and direct measurements without needing to update sensor and system configurations. Specific method application reports can also be generated.

The meter features a stability indicator for measurements, utilizing configurable stability criteria.

Temperature compensation can be automatic (using an integrated temperature sensor) or manual.

Audible and visual alarms alert users to measurements outside configured limits.

Data Logging and Connectivity

The HI6000 offers robust data logging capabilities, including active logging during measurement and the ability to collect up to 1,000,000 data points with date and time stamps. Logging types include manual, automatic, and auto-hold.

Connectivity Features:

Transfer logged data to a USB drive.
Log files include measurements and calibration data (as .csv files).
FTP and email protocols for exporting logs via Ethernet and Wi-Fi.
Download logs using the meter's integrated web server.
USB Type-A port for USB drives, printers (standard or thermal), and keyboards.
USB Type-C connector for USB drives and PC connection.

User Interface and System Features

The HI6000 features a 7-inch color touchscreen display with an 800 x 480 resolution, supporting multi-touch, video playback, and graph plotting.

The system menu allows control over user accessibility, system settings, connectivity, logged data access, reports, and video-supported help.

User Management: Configure login, instrument rights, and accessibility.
System Settings: General configuration, connectivity, and printing tasks.
Log Recall: Access logged measurement data.
Reports: Application-specific reports.
Help: Access an overview with video support for key instrument functionalities.

Users can create standard user accounts, with configurable accessibility for specific needs.

Modular System Design

The HI6000 system is designed for easy installation and interchanging of modules. Users can utilize any combination of 1 to 3 modules for complete measurement flexibility.

Specific Applications

HI6000-3 EC Module: Supports USP <645> water analysis for pharmaceutical applications, including meter verification, cell validation, and three-stage water analysis.
HI6000-4 DO Module: Enables direct measurements, Oxygen Uptake Rate (OUR), Specific Oxygen Uptake Rate (SOUR), and Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) analysis.

Recommended Sensors

pH/ORP/ISE: HI1131B pH electrode, HI7662-TW temperature probe.
EC: HI7631233 four-ring platinum conductivity probe.
DO: HI7641133 optical DO probe (opdo®) or HI764833 polarographic DO probe.
