Coolpad Snap™ Quick Start Guide
Thank you for purchasing your Coolpad Snap™ mobile phone! Please follow these simple but important instructions for optimal use of your new phone.
Application features and functions may vary among countries, regions or hardware specifications, and any third-party application malfunctions are the responsibility of those manufacturers. Exercise caution when editing User Registration Settings as this may cause functional or compatibility problems for which Coolpad will not be responsible. Device Layout
The Coolpad Snap™ features the following physical buttons and ports:
Component | Description |

Receiver | Top speaker for audio during calls. |
Headset jack | Standard 3.5mm port for headphones. |
Volume key | Adjusts ringer and media volume [+/-]. |
Camera key | Dedicated button to launch the camera. |
USB port | Micro-USB port for charging and data transfer (located on the lower right side). |
Messages key | Quick access to the messaging application. |
Left soft key | Context-sensitive button, typically for menu actions. |
Send key | Initiates calls or confirms actions [▶️]. |
Navigation key | Four-way directional pad (up, down, left, right) for menu navigation. |
Contacts key | Quick access to the contacts application. |
Clear key | Deletes characters or navigates back [⌫]. |
Right soft key | Context-sensitive button, typically for back or cancel actions. |
End key | Powers the phone on/off, ends calls, or returns to the home screen [❌]. |
OK key | Confirms selections or actions [✔️]. |
Charging the Battery
- Connect the microUSB side of the data cable to the USB port on your device (lower right side).
- Connect the USB end to the travel adapter.
- Connect the travel adapter to an electrical outlet to fully charge your phone.
Power Phone On & Off
To Power On: Press and hold the End key [❌] until the phone powers on and the Home screen is displayed. If screen lock is set up, enter the PIN code to access the Home screen. (Note: Do not store the PIN code within your phone; store it in an accessible location.)
To Power Off: Press and hold the End key [❌] until the phone powers off.
SIM Card Installation
- Open the back cover.
- Remove the battery.
- Insert the Nano SIM card into its designated slot.
- Insert the microSD card (sold separately) into its designated slot.

Home Screen and Status Bar
The Home screen displays important information about your phone, including the time, date, and access to the Apps screen.
Status Bar
The status bar at the top of the Home screen shows phone status (right side) and notification information (left side) using icons:
- Bluetooth active ?
- Wi-Fi active ?
- Vibrate ?
- Network (full signal) ?
- 4G LTE data service ?
- Airplane mode ✈️
- Alarm set ⏰
- Battery (charging) ?
- Battery (full charge) ?
- Missed call ?
- New message ✉️
Changing Home Screen Wallpaper
- From the Home screen, press the OK key [✔️] to access the Apps screen.
- Select Settings > General settings > Display > Wallpaper.
- Choose wallpaper from Gallery or Wallpapers.
- Select an image, and press the Left soft key [menu] to access the Menu.
- Select Set as Wallpaper to set it as the wallpaper.
Phone Functions
Making a Call
On the Home screen, dial the desired number and press the Send key [▶️] to place the call. The number can be saved to Contacts via Menu > Create new contact. Use the Clear key [⌫] to delete incorrect digits.
Emergency Call
To make an emergency call, dial the emergency number and press the Send key [▶️]. This works even without a SIM card, but requires network coverage.
Receiving a Call
The Incoming Call screen displays caller ID and other contact information. To answer, press the Send key [▶️]. To reject, press the End key [❌]. Press the Volume key to mute the ringtone.
Contacts
Access the Contacts app from the Apps screen (via OK key [✔️] from Home screen). This app saves contact names, numbers, and email addresses.
Searching for a Contact
Enter keywords in the search box on the Contacts screen; matched results will be displayed automatically.
Adding a New Contact
- On the Contacts screen, press the Left soft key [menu] to access the Menu.
- Select New contact.
- Enter the contact information.
- Press the Left soft key [menu] and select Save.
Editing a Contact
- Select the contact, press OK key [✔️] to view details.
- Press the Left soft key [menu] and select Edit.
- Edit the contact information.
- Press the Left soft key [menu] and select Save to save, or Discard to cancel.
Deleting a Contact
- Select the contact, press OK key [✔️] to view details.
- Press the Left soft key [menu] and select Delete.
- Press Navigation key right to select Delete.
- Press OK key [✔️] to confirm deletion.
Messages
Access the Messages app from the Apps screen (via OK key [✔️] from Home screen).
Creating a Message
- On the Messages screen, press the Left soft key [menu] to access the Menu.
- Select New message.
- Press OK key [✔️] to select recipients.
- Enter your message. Press the Left soft key [menu] to access the Menu and select Insert attachment (e.g., picture, video, audio).
- Press OK key [✔️] to send the message.
Note: An SMS will be sent as an MMS when attachments are added.
Camera
Use the Camera app to take pictures and record videos. Access it from the Apps screen (via OK key [✔️] from Home screen).
Taking a Photo
- On the Camera screen, focus on your subject.
- Press OK key [✔️] to take a photo.
- Press OK key [✔️] again to save, or Left soft key [retake] to retake.
Creating a Video
- On the Camera screen, press Navigation key right to activate Video mode.
- Press OK key [✔️] to start recording.
- Press OK key [✔️] again to stop recording.
Gallery
Access the Gallery app from the Apps screen (via OK key [✔️] from Home screen) to view and manage photos and videos.
Deleting an Image or a Video
- Select the item, press OK key [✔️] to view details.
- Press the Left soft key [menu] and select Delete.
- Press OK key [✔️] to confirm deletion.
Note: For multiple items, use the Multi-select option from the Menu.
Sharing an Image or a Video
- Select the item, press OK key [✔️] to view details.
- Press the Left soft key [menu] and select Share.
- Select your desired sharing method from the pop-up screen.
Wireless Settings
Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network
- From the Home screen, press OK key [✔️] to access the Apps screen, then select Settings.
- Select Device > Data usage and Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi.
- Press OK key [✔️] to scan for available Wi-Fi networks.
- Select the network name and enter the password if necessary.
Note: Previously connected networks are automatically joined. Networks can be joined and forgotten.
