Product Overview
This document provides instructions for the La Crosse 616-1908 Projection Time Alarm. The front of the device displays the current time (e.g., 12:34) and date (e.g., FRI 1:26). It features an adjustable projection arm that allows the time to be projected onto a wall or ceiling. The display can also show the calendar or alarm time.
The clock has several control buttons: ALARM, SNOOZE, MODE/SET, LIGHT (with HI-LOW-OFF settings), UP (⬆️), and DOWN (⬇️).
On the side, there is a Micro-USB port for powering the clock and enabling constant backlight and projection. A standard USB output port (1A) is also available for charging mobile devices. The device is powered by 2 "AAA" batteries (not included), housed in a battery compartment. A foldout stand allows the clock to be positioned upright. The clock can be closed for portability, requiring a firm pull to open.
Get Started
- Step 1: With the cover/stand closed, insert 2 new "AAA" batteries (not included) into the back of the projection alarm. Ensure correct polarity is observed.
- Step 2: To view the clock, look at the top and firmly pull the cover/stand open.
- Step 3: For constant, adjustable backlight and projection, connect the included Micro-USB power cord. Insert the Micro-USB end into the clock and the USB end into your computer's USB port or a USB outlet.
Restart Procedure: Unplug the Micro-USB cord and remove batteries from the projection alarm. Press any button 20 times. After 15 minutes, return to Step 1.
Set Time and Date
- Hold the MODE/SET button to enter time set mode.
- Use the ⬆️ UP or ⬇️ DOWN buttons to adjust values. Press and hold these buttons for faster adjustment.
- Press the MODE/SET button to confirm adjustments and move to the next item.
The time and date setting order is:
- 12/24 Hour Time Format
- Hour
- Minutes
- Year
- Month
- Date
Note: The day of the week sets automatically when the year, month, and date are set.
Press the MODE/SET button to exit, or wait 20 seconds without pressing buttons to return to the normal time display.
Set Time Alarm
- Press the ALARM button to view the alarm time in alarm mode.
- In alarm mode, hold the ALARM button to enter alarm time set mode.
- Use the ⬆️ UP or ⬇️ DOWN buttons to adjust values.
- Press the ALARM button to confirm adjustments and move to the next item.
The alarm time setting order is:
- Hours
- Minutes
Activate/Deactivate Time Alarm
- Press the ALARM button once to view the alarm time.
- Press the ALARM button again to activate the alarm. A bell icon (?) will appear.
- Press the ALARM button again to deactivate the alarm. The bell icon will disappear.
Snooze Function
Press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button to silence the alarm temporarily for 10 minutes. The display will show "Zz" above the time.
When in snooze mode, pressing SNOOZE/LIGHT again will stop the alarm for the current day.
Note: The alarm features a crescendo sound. It will sound for 2 minutes and then shut off completely.
Calendar or Alarm Time Display
Press the MODE/SET button to select whether the Calendar or Alarm Time is displayed.
Backlight Brightness and Micro-USB Power
Press and release the SNOOZE/LIGHT button to adjust the brightness of the backlight:
- ON Bright
- ON Dim
- OFF
Note: The High/Low/Off backlight features are not available when the Micro-USB cord is not in use.
When operating on battery power only, pressing the SNOOZE/LIGHT button activates the backlight and projection for 10 seconds. The projection will not remain on with battery power alone.
Projection Features
Battery Power: Press and release the SNOOZE/LIGHT button to show the projection for 10 seconds.
Micro-USB Cord: When powered via Micro-USB, the projection is displayed constantly.
Note: Projection will not display constantly when operating on battery power.
Rotate Projection
- Press the ⬆️ UP button to rotate the projected image 90 degrees.
- Press the ⬆️ UP button again to rotate another 90 degrees.
- Continue rotating until the projected image is right side up.
Projection Arm
The projection arm can move forward or backward, allowing you to project the time onto a wall or ceiling.
USB Charge Port
You can charge your mobile device when the clock is plugged into a USB outlet using the Micro-USB cord. Mobile devices cannot be charged when the clock is operating on battery power only.
Option 1:
- Use the included Micro-USB cord to connect the clock to a USB power outlet or your computer.
- Connect your mobile device's USB charging cable (not included) to the clock's USB charging port.
- Charging times will vary.
Option 2:
- Use your mobile device's charge cord to connect to an AC/DC outlet and to the Micro-USB port on the clock to power the clock.
- Then, use the included USB cord to connect to the standard USB charge port to charge your mobile device.
IMPORTANT: The ability to charge your mobile device will depend on the power output of your device's charge cord. There is no guarantee that this configuration will charge your mobile device while simultaneously powering the clock.
Care and Maintenance
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix battery types (Alkaline, Standard, Lithium, or Rechargeable).
- Always purchase the correct size and grade of battery most suitable for the intended use.
- Replace all batteries of a set at the same time.
- Clean the battery contacts and the device prior to battery installation.
- Ensure batteries are installed correctly with regard to polarity (+ and -).
- Remove batteries from equipment when it is not to be used for an extended period.
- Remove used batteries promptly.
- Do not expose the device to extreme temperature, vibration, or shock.
- Clean with a soft damp cloth. Do not use solvents or scouring agents.
- The product is not a toy. Keep it out of reach of children.
- The product is not intended for medical purposes or for public information; it is intended for home use only.
- Specifications of this product may change without prior notice.
- Improper use or unauthorized opening of the housing voids the warranty.
- If the product is not working properly, change the batteries.
