Getting Started

Before first use, please read the full instruction manual and safety information.

Setting up Home Connect

Tip: Connect your appliance to a mobile device to conveniently change all settings via the Home Connect app.

  1. Install the Home Connect app on your mobile device and follow the instructions.
  2. Scan the QR code with the Home Connect app.

Overview of Water Hardness Settings

This section provides an overview of selectable water hardness values. Country-specific units are detailed in the full instruction manual.

Setting the Water Softening System

  1. Press the [button].
  2. To open basic settings, press and hold [Setup 3 sec.] for 3 seconds. The display will show H:xx, then 'set'.
  3. Press the '+' or '-' buttons repeatedly until the desired water hardness is set.
  4. To save settings, press and hold [Setup 3 sec.] for 3 seconds.

Adding Special Salt [salt]

To prevent appliance damage, add special salt to the dispenser only just before starting a programme.

  1. Unscrew the lid of the special salt dispenser and remove it.
  2. On initial start-up: Fill the dispenser completely with water.
  3. Add special salt to the dispenser. The water will be displaced. Never add detergent.
  4. Replace the lid on the dispenser and turn to close.

Adding Rinse Aid [rinse aid]

  1. Press the catch on the rinse aid dispenser lid and lift it open.
  2. Add rinse aid up to the [max] mark.
  3. Close the rinse aid dispenser lid. The lid will click into position.

Adding Detergent

  1. Add detergent to the dry detergent dispenser.
  2. Close the lid of the detergent dispenser. The lid will click into position.

Detergent quantities: 50 ml, 25 ml, 15 ml.

Using Your Appliance

Programmes

Programme data is measured according to European standard EN 60436. Consumption figures vary based on the selected programme and additional functions. Programme runtime may change if the rinse aid system is deactivated or rinse aid needs replenishing.

Operating Your Appliance

  1. Load the tableware. Ensure only dishwasher-safe items are used. Remove large food remnants. Check that spray arms can rotate freely.
  2. Add detergent.
  3. Switch on the appliance.
  4. Select the programme.
  5. Start the programme.
  6. Remove the tableware at the end of the programme.
  7. To cancel a programme, press and hold the 'Reset' button for approximately 4 seconds. The programme will cancel and end within approximately 1 minute.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Cleaning Filters

  1. After each wash, check the filters for residue.
  2. Turn the coarse filter [counter-clockwise] and remove the filter system.
  3. Pull down the micro filter to remove it.
  4. Press the locking catches together and lift the coarse filter out.
  5. Clean the filter elements under running water.
  6. Re-assemble the filter system.
  7. Insert the filter system into the appliance and turn the coarse filter [clockwise], ensuring arrow markings align.

Cleaning Spray Arms

  1. Unscrew the upper spray arm and pull it down to remove.
  2. Pull up the lower spray arm to remove it.
  3. Check the outlet nozzles on the spray arms for blockages under running water and remove any foreign bodies.
  4. Insert the lower spray arm. It will click into position.
  5. Insert the upper spray arm and screw it firmly in place.

Cleaning Wastewater Pump

  1. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
  2. Remove the filter system.
  3. Scoop out any remaining water.
  4. Using a spoon, prise off the pump cover and grip it by the crosspiece.
  5. Lift the pump cover inwards at an angle and remove it.
  6. Remove any food remnants and foreign bodies from the impeller area.
  7. Insert the pump cover and press down. It will click into position.
  8. Install the filter system.

Troubleshooting

Fault / IndicatorCause and Troubleshooting
E:32-00 will light up alternately or indicator for water supply lights up.Cause: Supply hose is kinked.
Troubleshooting: Install the supply hose without kinks.
Cause: Water tap is turned off.
Troubleshooting: Turn on the water tap.
Cause: Water tap is jammed or furred up.
Troubleshooting: Turn on the water tap. Ensure the flow rate is at least 10 l/min when the water supply is open.
Cause: Filters in the water connection of the supply or AquaStop hose are blocked.
Troubleshooting:
  1. Switch off the appliance.
  2. Pull out the mains plug.
  3. Turn off the water tap.
  4. Unscrew the water connection.
  5. Remove the filter from the supply hose.
  6. Clean the filter.
  7. Re-insert the filter in the supply hose.
  8. Screw the water connection back on.
  9. Check the water connection for leaks.
  10. Restore the power supply.
  11. Switch the appliance on.
E:92-40 will light up alternately. E:61-02 will light up alternately.Cause: Filters are soiled or blocked.
Troubleshooting: Clean the filters.
Cause: Wastewater pump is blocked.
Troubleshooting: Clean the wastewater pump.
Cause: Cover of the wastewater pump is loose.
Troubleshooting: Secure the cover of the wastewater pump so it clicks into position.
Remnants of food on tableware.Cause: Tableware is placed too close together or basket is overfilled.
Troubleshooting:
  1. Arrange tableware with sufficient space in between. The spray jets must reach the surfaces of the tableware.
  2. Avoid points of contact.
Cause: Spray arm rotation is blocked.
Troubleshooting: Arrange tableware so that it does not obstruct spray arm rotation.
Cause: Spray arm nozzles are blocked.
Troubleshooting: Clean the spray arms.
Cause: Filters are soiled.
Troubleshooting: Clean the filters.
Cause: Filters are inserted incorrectly and/or not engaged.
Troubleshooting:
  1. Insert the filters properly.
  2. Engage the filters.
Cause: Washing programme selected too weak.
Troubleshooting: Select a more intensive washing programme or adjust the sensitivity of the sensors.
Removable streaks are present on glasses, glassware with a metallic appearance and cutlery.Cause: Amount of rinse aid to be dispensed is set too high.
Troubleshooting: Set the rinse aid system to a lower setting.
Cause: No rinse aid has been added.
Troubleshooting: Add rinse aid.
Rust spots on cutlery.Cause: Cutlery is not sufficiently rust-resistant. Knife blades are often more severely affected.
Troubleshooting: Use rust-resistant tableware.
Cause: Cutlery may also rust if washed together with rusting items.
Troubleshooting: Do not wash rusting items together.
Detergent residue is present in the detergent dispenser or the tablet collecting tray.Cause: Spray arms were blocked by tableware so detergent was not rinsed out.
Troubleshooting: Check that the spray arms are not blocked and can rotate freely.
All LEDs light up or flash or the rinse programme does not continue running.Cause: Electronics have detected a fault.
Troubleshooting: Press the main switch button for approximately 4 seconds. The appliance is reset and restarted.
