This manual provides detailed information on the operation and features of the H-RADIO ATS25AMP Receiver. It covers various aspects of the receiver, including its interface, functions, and settings.
Receiver Interface Overview
The receiver features a display that shows various indicators and information:
- BFO usage indicator: Lit when the BFO value is set.
- AGC or ATT usage indicator: Shows if AGC or ATT is enabled.
- BANDW bandwidth usage indicator: Indicates bandwidth usage.
- Modulation mode indicator: Displays the current modulation mode.
- BAND or HAM range indicator: Shows the selected band.
- STEP Setup STEP indicator: Indicates the step setting.
- Mute button: Mutes the audio output.
- Time and date display area: Shows current time and date. Can receive data from the network via Wi-Fi or from FM RDS stations.
- Reception frequency digits: Displays the current frequency. Press and hold to exchange settings between VFO A and VFO B.
- S-meter: Displays radio signal strength in digital or analog format. Can also show sound spectrum as a histogram or waterfall.
- Volume level display area: Shows the volume level, adjustable by the encoder. Click to mute the sound.
- Buttons for band selection: Access to amateur radio bands and broadcast range selection.
- Buttons for settings: Access to BFO settings, modulation selection, and other configuration options.
- Battery charge indicator: Shows battery status in percentages or volts.
- WI-FI status display area: Indicates Wi-Fi connection status.
- STEREO - MONO indicator: For FM stations, press to turn stereo on/off.
- Frequency unit indicator: Displays frequency in MHz/kHz.
- Volume control and noise reduction button: Activates volume control and noise reduction using the encoder.
- RDS area: For recording news services in RDS for FM stations and indicating the type of broadcast.
- AGC activation button: Activates AGC.
- ATT button: Activates the ATT attenuator controlled by the encoder.
Key Functions and Operations
Frequency Scan
The receiver allows for frequency scanning. You can access the frequency scan page for the current range.
Station Search
Automatic station search can be activated in ascending or descending direction.
Screen Brightness Adjustment
The screen brightness can be adjusted using the encoder.
Bluetooth Module Status
Indicates the status of the Bluetooth module for wireless speakers or headphones, built-in antenna amplifier, and antenna input impedance.
System Functions
Access to system functions settings page is available.
Manual Frequency Input
Direct manual frequency input is possible using the FREQ key. The screen includes a numeric keypad for input, a cancel button, a clear button, and an OK button to enter the frequency.
Band Selection
The receiver allows selection of broadcast ranges and amateur radio bands. Screens are provided for selecting the broadcast range with frequency indication and for selecting amateur radio bands.
Modulation Selection
Screens are available for selecting modulation types for amateur radio bands and broadcast bands. Digital signal decoding modes can also be selected.
Bandwidth Selection
Screens for selecting the bandwidth (bandpass filter) for FM, AM, and SSB bands are provided.
Citizen Band (CB) Reception
Press the CB button for Citizen Band reception. The screen displays the tuned CB channel and range information.
Scanner Mode
The scanner mode allows for frequency scanning with graphical display of received signals. Buttons are available to change the scale, pause/resume scanning, change frequency step, and exit the scanner mode.
Memory Functions
Stations can be stored in memory banks. The display shows memory cells with parameters, and allows scrolling through the list. Options are available for selecting a city, editing city lists, and linking stations to cities.
Retro Mode
A "retro scale" display mode of tube radios is available. In this mode, the receiver displays information in a vintage style, with options for volume control and scale adjustment.
Decoding Digital Signals and Morse Code
The receiver supports decoding of various digital signals and Morse code, including FELD-HELL, RTTY, CW, FT8, and FT4. Specific screens and instructions are provided for each decoding mode.
Wi-Fi Settings
The receiver allows connection to Wi-Fi networks. Users can enter Wi-Fi settings, select access points, and enter passwords. The list of saved access points is editable.
Configuration Screens
Various configuration screens are accessible via the SETUP button, allowing users to set parameters such as ITU region, FM band range, language, scanner settings, memory lists, device options, and display settings.
On-Screen Keyboard
An on-screen keyboard appears for entering characters and data, such as Wi-Fi passwords, activation keys, and memory station names. It supports uppercase, lowercase, numeric, and special characters.
Screensaver
The screensaver function can be configured in the SETUP menu, including delay settings and display orientation.
Information Screens
Information screens accessed via the INFO button display receiver parameters, firmware details, Si473x chip information, band boundaries, HF wave propagation conditions, and developer information.
