Connections
Important Installation Notes:
- Battery Drain Prevention: If your vehicle lacks an ACC (accessory) ignition switch position, ensure the red power wire is connected to a terminal that detects ignition key operation to prevent battery drain.
- Vehicle Compatibility: Use only with vehicles equipped with a 12-volt battery and negative grounding.
- Speaker Requirements:
- For 4-channel speaker output: Use speakers rated over 50 W (max input power) with 4 Ω to 8 Ω impedance. Do not use 1 Ω to 3 Ω speakers.
- For 2 Ω subwoofer rear output: Use speakers rated over 70 W (max input power).
- Wiring Precautions:
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal before installation.
- Secure all wiring with cable clamps or adhesive tape. Protect wires contacting metal parts with tape.
- Route cables away from moving parts (e.g., shift lever, seat rails) and hot areas (e.g., heater outlets).
- Do not route the yellow power cable through the engine compartment hole to the battery.
- Insulate all disconnected cable connectors.
- Do not shorten cables.
- Never cut the power cable insulation to share power with other devices due to limited current capacity.
- Use the specified fuse rating.
- Never connect negative speaker cables directly to ground.
- Never connect negative speaker cables of multiple speakers together.
- Blue/White Cable: This cable controls system remote signals (e.g., external power amplifier, auto-antenna relay). Connect to the appropriate terminal (max. 300mA 12V DC). For glass antennas, connect to the antenna booster power supply. Avoid connecting to power terminals of external amps or auto antennas to prevent battery drain or malfunction.
- Black Cable: This is the chassis ground. Ensure separate grounding for the unit and other equipment, especially high-current devices like power amplifiers, to prevent fire or malfunction.
- DC Symbol: The ⎓ symbol on the product indicates direct current.
- Memory Retention: Function and audio settings (except RCA pre-out settings) are retained when power is disconnected.
Unit Connection Ports:
- DAB Antenna Input: For DAB reception, connect an optional DAB antenna (AN-DAB1).
- Power Cord Input
- Rear Output / Subwoofer Output
- Front Output
- Antenna Input
- Fuse (10 A)
- Wired Remote Input: Compatible with optional hard-wired remote control adapters.
Wiring Guide:
- Power: Yellow wire to constant 12V supply; Red wire to ignition-switched 12V DC. Connect matching colors.
- Ground: Black wire to chassis ground.
- Remote Turn-On (Blue/White): Connect to power amplifier system remote control or auto-antenna relay control terminal (max. 300mA 12V DC). Consult vehicle manual for ISO connector pin assignments (Pin 5 for antenna control).
- Audio Mute (Yellow/Black): Connect to the mute lead of audio equipment. Leave unconnected if not used.
- Speaker Outputs:
- Front Left: White (+), White/Black (-)
- Front Right: Gray (+), Gray/Black (-)
- Rear Left/Subwoofer: Green (+), Green/Black (-)
- Rear Right/Subwoofer: Violet (+), Violet/Black (-)
- ISO Connector: Connect both parts if the connector is split.
Important Notes:
- Initial menu settings can be changed via [SP-P/O MODE]. The subwoofer output is monaural.
- For a 2 Ω subwoofer, connect it to the Violet/Violet-Black leads. Do not use the Green/Green-Black leads for this.
Optional Amplifier Connection: Connect the system remote control to the unit's blue/white cable. Use RCA cables (sold separately) to connect the amplifier to the unit's front and rear/subwoofer outputs.
