? INSTALLATION
Models without special couplings: The hose connecting the internal and external units can be positioned in two ways:
- Through a slightly-open window or door.
- Through a small hole (5.5 x 2.5 cm.) in the lower part of the door or window frame, using the special frame for the connection hose.
The appliance must be fitted at least 30 cm from the surrounding walls.
Diagrams showing installation options for the air conditioner, including positioning the hose through a slightly-open window or door, or through a small hole in the frame. It also indicates a minimum clearance of 30 cm from surrounding walls.
Adjustable Window Bracket & Hose Connection
The Pinguino is equipped with an adjustable window bracket. For sash windows, position the external unit outside, place the bracket on the window sill, extend it fully within the frame, pass the hose through the slot, and lower the window onto the bracket. The wing nut allows use with sliding windows.
Diagram illustrating the use of the adjustable window bracket for sash windows, showing the hose passing through the slot and the window being lowered onto the bracket.
Disconnecting the Internal Unit (for hose connection):
- Remove the plug from the wall socket.
- Remove the rear panel by unscrewing two retaining screws.
- Remove the metal brackets fastening the hose.
- Using a 24mm spanner, unscrew the union on the coupling, using a 19mm spanner to hold the hose extremity. Repeat for the second union.
- Detach the condensation hose.
- Disconnect the electrical connector socket by pressing retainer tabs.
MODELS WITH SPECIAL COUPLINGS: If your air-conditioner has a rapid-fit coupling, the hose can also pass through a round hole (approx. 6 cm diameter) in an external wall.
Diagram showing how the hose can be passed through a round hole (approx. 6 cm diameter) in an external wall using a special coupling.
The path of the connector hose should be as straight as possible, without sharp curves or kinks.
Re-connecting Hose & Couplings: Repeat disconnection steps in reverse order. Protect threaded ends with insulating tape. Fit and tighten couplings. Fasten brackets. Check for leaks with soapy water. Attention: Connection and disconnection of refrigerant couplings must be carried out by qualified personnel.
Unit Placement & Condensation Drainage
INTERNAL UNIT
The internal unit should be installed in the room to be conditioned, ideally under a window or near an external wall. It must be perfectly leveled. Use castor stops if necessary. Ensure air intake and outlet grilles are unobstructed.
EXTERNAL UNIT
The external unit can be positioned on a terrace or balcony, or mounted on a wall. It can be hung using special support belts. The height difference between units should not exceed 1.5 m. Leave at least 6 cm clearance between the rear of the unit and the wall. Intake and outlet vents must not be obstructed.
Diagrams showing options for positioning the external unit: wall-mounted, hung with support belts, or placed on a terrace/balcony, with clearance requirements.
? CONDENSATION DRAINAGE
Condensation typically evaporates from the external unit. For high humidity, a condensation discharge tube may be necessary. Fit the hose to the coupling on the bottom section of the external unit (remove rubber cap). Specific applications may require direct drainage from the back pipe, potentially needing a separate pump system.

? ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS & ✅ FINAL CHECK
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Before plugging in, verify:
- Power supply voltage matches the rating plate.
- Power socket and circuit are suitable for the unit's requirements.
- Socket is suitable for the plug; replace if necessary.
FINAL CHECK
To ensure maximum efficiency:
- Close all doors and windows (unless temporary installation requires a window to be partially open).
- Do not place objects on the air-conditioner.
- Ensure air intake and discharge vents are not obstructed.
- Make sure there are no sources of heat in the room.
- Draw curtains and/or partially close blinds to protect the room from direct sunlight, increasing efficiency and economy.

?️ CONTROL PANEL & OPERATION
CONTROL PANEL
Diagram of the control panel with labels for indicator lamps (TIMER ON, Alarm, Fan, Air-conditioning, Min/Max AC signal) and controls (Timer notches, Thermostat knob, ON/OFF main switch, Timer key, Fan speed selection key, Fan/conditioning selection key).
SETTING THE TIMER
The timer functions like a clock and must be set to the exact time. Turn the dial clockwise until the desired hour aligns with the arrow pointer. N.B.: Never turn the dial anti-clockwise. The timer requires power; it will stop and need resetting after a power failure.
The unit can be used in programmed or non-programmed mode.
PROGRAMMED MODE
- Release timer button B.
- Set operating times by pushing out notches on the dial (each notch = 15 mins.).
- Check the timer indicates the correct time.
- Select the desired function (see chart). The unit will switch on/off daily at selected times.
N.B: To override programmed times, press the ON/OFF timer key.
NON-PROGRAMMED MODE
- Press the B TIMER button.
- Select the desired function.
HOW TO START UP THE CONDITIONER ▶️
- Plug the appliance into the wall socket. The ON/OFF signal lamp (1) will illuminate.
- Select either Programmed or Non-programmed mode.
- Select the required fan speed using key D.
AIR-CONDITIONING
Key C (Ventilation/Conditioning) must be released. Turn thermostat to Max. cold. Press key A (ON/OFF). Signal lamp 5 (Conditioning) and either 6 or 7 (Min. or Max. fan speed) will illuminate.
VENTILATION
Key C (Ventilation/Conditioning) must be pressed.
The appliance comes on. If not, refer to page 14.
To switch off the appliance, press key A (ON/OFF main switch).
N.B: The "TIMER ON" signal lamp only comes on with "Programmed" mode.
N.B: Temperature is represented by lines indicating thickness, not degrees. For optimal cooling, set the thermostat to maximum initially and adjust slowly until the unit switches off when the room is comfortable. The unit will then maintain this temperature.
This appliance has a safety circuit that prevents the compressor from switching on again for at least 3 minutes after it switches off.
