General Safety
- The appliance is suitable for private households and for preparing coffee in usual household quantities. Any other use is considered improper and may lead to personal injury or material damage.
- Connect the appliance only to a correctly installed, grounded socket.
- Disconnect the appliance from the power supply if it is not used for extended periods.
- Parts of the appliance, such as the steam outlet at the filter, become very hot during operation. Avoid contact with these parts and hot steam.
- Do not open the filter during the brewing process.
- Do not use the appliance if the power cable is damaged.
- Never immerse the appliance in water.
- Children aged 8 years and above may use the appliance under supervision or if instructed on safe use and potential dangers. Cleaning and maintenance should not be performed by children unless they are 8 years or older and supervised. Keep the appliance and power cable away from children under 8 years old.
- Persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience/knowledge, may use the appliance if supervised or instructed on safe use and potential dangers.
- Children must not play with the appliance.
- Power cable replacement and other repairs must only be carried out by Melitta customer service or an authorized workshop.
Therm Jug Safety
- Do not use the jug in the microwave.
- Do not place the jug on a hot stove top.
- Do not use the jug for storing milk products or baby food, as this may lead to bacterial growth.
- Do not lay the jug on its side if it contains liquid, as the liquid could leak.
- For stubborn stains, use Melitta® Perfect Clean Accessories Cleaner.
- Clean the exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
ONLY Melitta® Enjoy Therm Specifics
- To avoid damaging the glass flask, do not use hard or sharp objects (e.g., cutlery, dish brushes) for stirring or cleaning. Do not add ice cubes or carbonated drinks.
- Do not expose the glass flask to extreme temperature variations.
- If the jug is dropped or subjected to a heavy impact, the glass flask could break. Do not drink the contents as they may contain glass shards.
Before First Use
- Ensure your home's power supply voltage matches the rating plate on the appliance base.
- Connect the appliance to the power source. Unused cable can be stored in the base.
- The appliance is tested during production. Rinse the appliance twice with the maximum amount of water, without a filter bag or ground coffee, to clean it.
- The appliance is equipped with various features for optimal coffee enjoyment and convenient use.
Making Coffee
- Ensure the appliance is connected to the power source.
- Open the water tank lid.
- Fill the water tank with the desired amount of cold water using the therm jug. Use the water level display on the tank to measure the number of cups (small cup symbol ≈ 85ml per cup, large cup symbol ≈ 125ml per cup).
- Close the water tank lid and place the therm jug with its lid closed into the appliance.
- Open the swivel filter to the left.
- Fold a Melitta® 1x4® filter bag along the embossed seam and place it in the filter holder. Press the filter bag into the holder by hand for a good fit.
- Add ground coffee to the filter. We recommend 6g of ground coffee per large cup.
- Swivel the filter back into the appliance until it clicks into place.
- Use the Melitta® AromaSelector® to adjust your coffee's taste from mild-aromatic ( ) to strong-intensive ( ).
- Turn the appliance on to start brewing.
- The appliance automatically switches off shortly after brewing to save energy. You can also switch it off manually at any time.
- The drip stop prevents coffee from dripping when the jug is removed.
Using the Therm Jug
- Brewed coffee flows through the central valve in the insulated lid into the jug.
- To pour coffee, press down the sealing lever.
- To remove the lid, press the seals on the side and lift the lid up.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Exterior Cleaning
- Clean the housing with a soft, damp cloth.
- The jug lid and swivel filter are dishwasher safe.
Descaling
Depending on water hardness, the appliance can calcify over time, increasing energy consumption. Regular descaling is necessary to prevent damage.
- Descaling: Dose descaler according to manufacturer's instructions and pour into the water tank (Melitta® Anti Calc Filter Café Machines recommended). Turn on the appliance and follow the descaler manufacturer's instructions. Turn off the appliance immediately after the descaler liquid has run through.
- Rinsing: After descaling, rinse the appliance with fresh water. Fill with maximum water amount and run through. Turn off immediately. Repeat rinsing.
Disposal
- Appliances marked with this symbol comply with European WEEE directives.
- Do not dispose of electric appliances with household waste. Dispose of the appliance ecologically via suitable collection systems.
- Packaging materials are raw materials and can be recycled. Please return them to the raw material cycle.
Warranty
Melitta offers a manufacturer's warranty. The warranty period is 24 months from the date of purchase, provided the purchase date is verified by a receipt. The warranty covers material and manufacturing defects for household use. It excludes damage from improper use, unauthorized repairs, wear parts, and glass. For warranty claims, contact the service line for your country. These conditions apply to appliances purchased and used in the respective country.
