Operating Instructions
Before First Use
Remove all packing materials and stickers. Gently wipe the exterior and interior plates with a damp cloth or paper towel and dry completely. Never immerse the Waffle Maker, cord, or plug in water or other liquids. Wash the measuring cup with warm, soapy water and a sponge, then dry completely. Place the Waffle Maker on a dry, flat, and steady surface. Read all instructions and follow them carefully.
Quick Start Guide
Step 1: Prepare waffle batter and plug in the Waffle Maker.
Step 2: Use the Shade Setting Knob to select the desired cooking setting.
Step 3: When the blue light illuminates (indicating preheating is complete), use the included measuring cup to pour batter into the Waffle Maker. The blue light will turn off as cooking begins.
Step 4: When the blue light illuminates again, the waffle is ready. Carefully open the lid, remove the waffle, and enjoy!
How to Use
- Prepare your waffle batter.
- Plug the Waffle Maker into a wall outlet. The red power indicator light will illuminate, and the unit will begin preheating. After approximately 5 minutes, the blue ready indicator light will also illuminate.
- Use the Shade Setting Knob to select your desired shade setting (7 settings available from MIN to MAX). Higher settings result in darker, crunchier waffles.
- Use the included measuring cup to scoop the batter. Fill the cup based on your batter's thickness; markings are provided for recommended amounts (160 ml for thick batter, 125 ml for thin batter). Note that batter consistency can vary. The measuring cup's handle is designed to rest on the side of your bowl.
- Pour batter into the center of the anti-overflow plates.
- NOTE: Do not use nonstick spray on the cooking plates, as it can cause build-up and sticking over time. If desired, brush with a small amount of cooking oil like canola, vegetable, or grapeseed.
- Close the lid. The blue light will turn off and re-illuminate when the waffle is ready.
- CAUTION: Never place your face or body parts near the sides of the Waffle Maker during cooking, as hot steam escapes and can cause burns.
- When the waffle is ready, carefully open the lid by placing fingers on the latch release grips and pressing the latch with your thumb to lift.
- Use silicone-tipped tongs to remove the cooked waffle and transfer it to a plate. Serve immediately.
- If not serving immediately, transfer cooked waffles to a sheet pan with a wire rack to prevent sogginess. Keep warm in a 200°F oven.
- Before making subsequent waffles, brush away any remaining crumbs or bits from the plates. Refer to "Cleaning and Maintenance" for details.
- Unplug the Waffle Maker when finished. Allow it to cool completely before storing in a cool, dry place. The Waffle Maker can be stored upright to save space.
Tips
- When making waffle mix, avoid overmixing. Whisk by hand or use a mixer on very slow speed until large lumps disappear.
- The optimal batter amount for a full waffle varies by brand and batter thickness.
- Experiment with mix-ins by trying them in a single cup of batter first, baking one waffle at a time to perfect your ratio.
- Do not open the Waffle Maker during the first minute of cooking to prevent waffles from separating. For optimal results, allow the full cooking cycle.
- If the lid resists lifting after cooking, allow the waffle to cook for longer in 30-second increments.
- Never use nonstick spray on cooking plates. If desired, brush with a small amount of cooking oil (e.g., canola, vegetable, grapeseed).
- For crispier, darker waffles, allow them to cook for longer.
- Cake-based waffles are more tender and may require more care when removing. Use silicone-tipped tongs and a spatula for support. Waffle results can vary based on the waffle mix or recipe used.
- Serve waffles immediately or place them on a sheet pan with a wire rack to keep them from getting soggy. Keep warm in a 200°F oven.
- Cooked waffles freeze well. Cool completely, wrap in wax paper, then transfer to a sealed plastic bag or aluminum foil. Reheat in a toaster, toaster oven, or oven.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Unplug the Waffle Maker and allow it to cool completely. Use a soft bristle brush (like a pastry brush) or paper towel to brush away crumbs from the plates. The Waffle Maker is not designed for disassembly.
Gently wipe down the exterior and interior plates with a damp cloth or paper towel and dry completely. To remove cooked-on batter, pour a small amount of cooking oil onto the hardened batter, let it sit for 5 minutes, then wipe off with a dry or damp paper towel. Never use coarse scouring pads or steel wool.
Never immerse the Waffle Maker, cord, or plug in water or any other liquids. The measuring cup can be washed with warm, soapy water and a sponge. Always allow all parts to dry completely.
The cord can be wrapped underneath the Waffle Maker. Avoid wrapping the cord tightly around the unit or putting stress on the cord where it enters the unit. Store in a cool, dry place. The Waffle Maker may be stored upright to save space.
