Numatic CT/CTD Series Vacuum Cleaners: Original Instructions
This document provides the original instructions for the Numatic CT 570, CTD 570, CT 750, CTD 750, CT 900, and CTD 900 series of vacuum cleaners.

Machine, Kits, and Accessories
Various kits are available for wet cleaning and extraction:
Wet Kits
- WET - Kit A41A: Includes standard wet cleaning accessories.
- WET - Kit A42: Includes standard wet cleaning accessories.
- WET - Kit A40A: Includes standard wet cleaning accessories.
Optional Extras
- Optional Extra's DRY - Kit A44: For dry use applications.
Hepaflo Bags
For dry use only.
- 570 Drum: NVM 3BH (604017) x10 (Master Carton 10x10, 604817)
- 750 / 900 Drum: NVM 4BH (604019) x10 (Master Carton 6x10, 604819)
Permatex Filter
For dry use only.
- NVM-604116: Primary Permatex Filter for 365mm Machine.
Handle Assembly
Follow these steps for handle assembly:
- Step 1: Insert handle components.
- Step 2: Secure handle assembly.
- Step 3: Connect hose to the machine.
- Step 4: Attach wand to hose.
- Step 5: Connect floor tool to wand.
- Step 6: Attach accessory to wand.
- Step 7: Connect wand to machine inlet.
- Step 8: Position machine.
- Step 9: Secure base or foot pedal.
(Applies to CT 900 / CTD 900 models)
Assembling the Machine for Extraction Use
DRY Use: [❌ symbol] Do not assemble for dry use in this configuration.
WET Use:
1. Ensure the machine is configured for wet use.
2. Add NuChem 4 cleaning solution: 40ml per 5 litres of cold water. ?
3. Assemble the machine components as shown for wet operation.
4. Connect the extraction hose and floor tool.
5. The machine is now ready for wet extraction.
Wet / Extraction - Using the Machine
1. Vac: Ensure the vacuum function is enabled.
2. Pump: Ensure the pump function is enabled for spraying solution.
Follow the sequence shown for spraying solution and vacuuming.
Emptying and Cleaning the Machine
Emptying Your Machine
For CT 570 / CTD 570: Follow the steps to safely empty the machine's container.
For CT 900 / CTD 900: Follow the steps to safely empty the machine's container.
Cleaning the Machine
1. Disassemble the machine head and filter components.
2. Clean components using water and a brush. ?
3. Rinse all parts thoroughly.
4. Ensure all parts are dry before reassembly.
Dry - Assembling the Machine
WET Use: [❌ symbol] Do not assemble for wet use in this configuration.
DRY Use: [✔️ symbol] Assemble with Hepa-Flo bag and Permatex filter for dry use.
Ensure correct filter and bag are fitted for dry operation.
Changing / Replacing Cable
Follow these steps for safe cable replacement:
- Step 1: Disconnect power.
- Step 2: Access cable entry point.
- Step 3: Unscrew retaining screw.
- Step 4: Disconnect old cable.
- Step 5: Prepare new cable.
- Step 6: Route new cable.
- Step 7: Secure new cable.
- Step 8: Reassemble components.
- Step 9: Ensure proper strain relief.
- Step 10: Test connection.
- Step 11: Final check.
Maintenance and Safety
About Your Machine
Daily Maintenance:
- Keep the machine clean, including hoses and tubes.
- Ensure the bag and filter are fitted correctly.
- Regularly examine the power cord for damage.
- Check dust bag frequently.
- Check filters are clean.
Weekly Maintenance:
- Check for any worn or damaged parts and replace immediately.
WEEE Legislation
Vacuum cleaner, accessories, and packaging should be sorted for environmentally friendly recycling.
For UK/EU Countries: Do not dispose of vacuum cleaners into household waste. Follow European Directive 2012/19/EU for separate collection and recovery of electrical and electronic equipment.

NOTE: A risk assessment should be conducted to determine which PPE should be worn.

Warnings and Cautions
General Warnings
Warning:
- Read the instruction manual before using the machine.
- Operators must be adequately instructed on the use of these machines.
- Exercise care and attention at all times during use, and ensure routine preventative maintenance is carried out for safe operation.
- Failure to carry out necessary maintenance, including replacement of parts to the correct standard, could render the equipment unsafe.
- Disconnect the machine from the mains by removing the plug during cleaning, maintenance, or conversion.
- This machine is not intended for use by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience or knowledge.
- Children must not play with the machine, even when supervised.
- This appliance is intended to be assembled, cleaned, and maintained by an adult.
- This machine is not a toy.
- This machine is not suitable for picking up hazardous or explosive dust. Contact your local distributor for machines capable of performing such tasks.
- If foam/liquid comes out of the machine exhaust, switch off immediately.
- Allow accumulated liquid to drain, check the float assembly, empty the container if full, and reassemble.
- Initial startup may discharge residual liquid from the power head; this is normal.
- Liquid ejected from the machine could be hazardous due to temperature, pressure, or chemical content.
Cautions
- Ensure the filtration system is suitable for the material being collected.
- This machine is for indoor use only.
- Store the machine indoors only.
- Consider the machine's weight when moving it.
Notes
- This product complies with IEC/EN 60335-2-68 and clause 20 of IEC/EN 60335-2-69 for Stability and Mechanical Hazards.
- The primary use is commercial (hotels, schools, hospitals, factories, shops, offices).
- If the vacuum cleaner stops working, remove the plug before investigating.
- Inspect the vacuum cleaner for damage after use.
- The power light will illuminate when connected to a suitable power supply.
Do
- Use a bag and filter at all times when using 'dry'.
- Keep your machine clean.
- Keep filters clean.
- Regularly clean the water level limiting float safety valve and examine for signs of damage or correct operation.
- Keep hoses and tubes clear.
- Replace any worn or damaged parts immediately.
- Regularly examine the power cord; replace if damaged with a special cord from Numatic or its service agents.
Don't
- Use steam cleaners or pressure washers, or use the machine in the rain.
- Immerse the machine in water for cleaning.
- Allow inexperienced repairs; call experts.
- Use wet if the float valve is not functioning or fitted.
- Use to suck up hot ashes or lighted cigarette ends.
- Run the machine over the power cable during operation.
- Pull on the cable to unplug the machine from the power supply.
- Walk over wet carpets, upholstery, or fabrics.
- Walk on clean carpets until fully dry.
- Attempt machine maintenance or cleaning unless the power supply plug has been removed.
- Place foreign objects (e.g., air fresheners, capsules, scented beads) into the top filter, as this can be dangerous and may invalidate the warranty.
Fault Finding
This machine can be used for dry pick up, wet pick up, and carpet/upholstery cleaning.
Dry Mode
If the vacuum cleaner stops working: Switch off and remove the plug before investigating.
If the vacuum cleaner will not pick up debris: Switch off, remove the plug, inspect the floor tool, wands, and hose for blockages. If no blockages are found, the dust bag may be full, or the filter may be blocked.
Wet Mode / Spray Extraction
If the vacuum cleaner stops working: Switch off and remove the plug before investigating.
If the vacuum cleaner has a blockage and will not pick up liquid: Switch off, remove the plug. Check if the float valve has operated (this shuts off suction and changes the motor pitch). Remove the power head and empty the container. Check floor tool, wands, and hose for blockages.
If the spray nozzle is blocked: Use a pin to clear the blockage.
If there is no spray from the nozzle and the pump tone changes: The solution tank is empty; refill it.
Flush the system with clean water after use.
Always inspect the machine for damage after use.
NuChem 4 Cleaning Solution
Instructions for Use
NuChem 4 is provided with this product.
Test for Colour Fastness: Find an out-of-the-way place and test the carpet/fabric for colour fastness by rubbing with a cloth dampened with correctly diluted NuChem 4.
Do not use on velvet or materials unsuitable for wet cleaning, according to fabric manufacturer instructions.
For Normal Soiling: Pour one 40ml measure into 5 litres of cold water.
For Heavy Soiling: Pour two 40ml measures into 5 litres of cold water.
NuChem 4 is non-foaming, bactericidal, contains optical brighteners, leaves no tacky residues, and has a delicate verbena scent.
Health and Safety
Caution:
- Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
- Wear suitable gloves.
- Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
- In case of eye contact, flush with clean water and seek medical attention.
- In case of skin contact, rinse with plenty of clean water.
Contents:
- Composition: Greater than 30% water.
- Less than 5% SODIUM XYLENE SULPHONATE, CAS: 1300-72-7.
- Classified as Irritant [xI] R36/37/38.
- Risk Phrases: R36/38: Irritating to eyes and skin.
- Safety Phrases: S2: Keep out of the reach of children. S24: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. S37: Wear suitable gloves.

Warranty Periods:

- Rotary Floor Machines: 2 Years
- Twintec Auto Scrubber Dryer: 1 Year
- Vario Ride-On Scrubber Dryer: 1 Year / 1500 hours
- Mopping, Compacts, Combi and Servocare Products: 1 Year
- Individual Accessories and Spare Parts: 6 Months
Note: Warranty excludes consumable parts (e.g., carbon brushes, floor brushes, mops, batteries). Using non-Numatic dustbags may invalidate the warranty.
Claim Process: Warranty claims must be processed through the dealer from whom the equipment was purchased. Contact Numatic International Limited if the original dealer cannot fulfil obligations.
Exclusions: Claims will not be accepted for fair wear and tear, misuse, or abuse. Numatic International Limited reserves the right to charge for unnecessary work carried out due to invalid claims.
