Amazfit GTS User Manual

Your comprehensive guide to operating and utilizing the full capabilities of your Amazfit GTS smartwatch.

Basic Operations

The Amazfit GTS features an AMOLED touchscreen and a physical button.

Gestures:

  • Swipe Left/Right or Up/Down: Switch between different function pages.
  • Tap: Enter a function page or interact with on-screen prompts.
  • Swipe Right (after entering a function): Quickly return to the previous menu level.

Button Functions:

  1. Short Press: Wake the screen.
  2. Short Press (on watch face): Turn off the screen.
  3. Short Press (on other pages): Quickly return to the watch face.
  4. Long Press (10s): Power off the watch.
  5. Long Press (on watch face): Enter the sports mode (configurable; default is to start a sport).

Navigation

Swipe Down (from watch face): Access the Quick Control Menu. This allows quick access to features like the flashlight ?, brightness adjustment ?, Do Not Disturb mode ?, and screen lock ?.

Swipe Left/Right (from watch face): Quickly access Status, Heart Rate ❤️, Alipay ?, and Wallet (Card Package) pages.

Swipe Up (from watch face): Access the main function list.

Wearing and Charging

Wearing the Watch: For accurate optical heart rate measurements, wear the watch snugly on your wrist, about two fingers' width from your wrist bone. During exercise, ensure it's snug but comfortable, avoiding excessive tightness or looseness, which can affect data accuracy.

Charging the Watch:

  1. Connect the watch's charging cable to a USB-powered device (e.g., power adapter ?, computer ?, power bank ?).
  2. Place the watch onto the charging cradle, ensuring the metal contacts on the watch back align with the charger's pins.
  3. A charging indicator will appear on the screen when placed correctly.

Watch Function Usage

Before using the Amazfit GTS, download and install the Zepp App on your smartphone. Binding the watch to the Zepp App is required to access all features and save data to your cloud account.

Device Binding and Unbinding

  1. Download the Zepp App from your device's app store and register or log in to your account.
  2. In the Zepp App, navigate to "My" > "Add Device" > "Watch" > "Amazfit GTS" to search for nearby devices.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts on the watch and app to complete the binding process.
  4. Alternatively, if the Zepp App supports QR code binding, point the app's scanner at the QR code displayed on the watch.
  5. After binding, the watch may require an update. Keep your phone connected via Bluetooth ? and Wi-Fi and place the watch near your phone during the update.
  6. Once binding and updates are complete, you can start using the watch's features. The Zepp App allows further customization and settings management.
  7. To unbind the watch, open the Zepp App, go to the device page, and select "Unbind Device".

Quick Control Menu

Swipe down from the watch face to access the Quick Control Menu.

  • Flashlight: Tap the flashlight icon ? to turn on a white screen for low-light illumination. Swipe right or press the button to turn it off.
  • Brightness Adjustment:
    • Auto-Brightness: The watch automatically adjusts screen brightness based on ambient light.
    • Manual Brightness: Manually set the screen brightness.
  • Do Not Disturb (DND):
    • Enable DND: Silences all incoming phone notifications on the watch.
    • Scheduled DND: Set specific time periods for DND to be active.
    • Smart DND: Automatically enables DND when the watch detects you are sleeping.
    • Disable DND: Turns off DND mode, allowing notifications to resume.
  • Lock Screen: Prevents accidental screen touches. Once locked, only pressing the watch button can unlock it and return to the watch face. Tap the lock screen icon again to disable it.

Changing Watch Faces

On the Watch: Long press the current watch face for 2 seconds, or navigate to "Settings" > "Watch Face Settings". Swipe left or right to browse available watch faces and tap to select and apply.

Some watch faces have editable elements indicated by a small icon. Tapping or sliding within highlighted areas allows customization of complications or colors.

Via the Zepp App: Navigate to "My" > "Amazfit GTS" > "Watch Face Settings" to browse and download more watch faces from the watch face market.

Alipay

Binding Alipay:

  1. On the watch, swipe to the Alipay binding page. A QR code [QR Code] will be displayed.
  2. Open the Alipay app on your phone and use the "Scan" feature to scan the watch's QR code.
  3. During the binding process, the watch will show the progress. Upon successful binding, your payment code will be displayed on the watch.
  4. Note: Ensure your Alipay app is updated to version 10.1.5 or later. Keep Bluetooth ? and network connections active during binding.

Using Alipay for Payment:

  1. On the watch, swipe to the Alipay page. The default view shows a QR code [QR Code]. Present this code to the scanner for payment.
  2. If the scanner does not support QR codes, swipe up or tap on the Alipay page to display a barcode [Barcode].

Unbinding Alipay:

  • Via Alipay App: In the Alipay app, go to "Smart Devices" > "Smart Watch", select your bound watch, and tap "Unbind Payment" or "Confirm Unbind".
  • Via Watch: Swipe to the Alipay page, then swipe up to the personal information screen, and select "Unbind".

Note: Due to Alipay regulations, even after unbinding, the watch may still display an expired payment code. To re-bind, you must first unbind it from the watch.

Wallet (Card Package)

To use the Wallet function, open the Zepp App, navigate to "My" > "Amazfit GTS", and select "Transit Card" or "Simulated Door Card".

After activating a transit card or simulating a door card, simply tap your watch near a card reader to complete the transaction. If you have multiple cards, swipe up or down on the Wallet page to switch between them.

Status

Swipe Left (from watch face): Access the Status page, which displays your current step count ? and goal progress. Tap the Status entry to view detailed information, including steps, distance, calories burned, and sedentary activity data.

Swipe Up (from watch face): Select "Status" to access the detailed status page.

Heart Rate

Swipe Left (from watch face): Access the Heart Rate ❤️ function. The watch will automatically begin measuring your heart rate. Ensure the watch is worn snugly against your skin for accurate readings.

All-Day Heart Rate Monitoring: To enable continuous heart rate tracking, open the Zepp App, navigate to "My" > "Amazfit GTS" > "Heart Rate Monitoring", and select "Enable All-Day Heart Rate".

When All-Day Heart Rate is enabled, the watch measures your heart rate periodically. Swiping right from the watch face shows the latest heart rate reading; tapping it opens the detailed heart rate history.

Sports

The Amazfit GTS supports 12 types of sports activities: Outdoor Run, Walk, Outdoor Cycling, Indoor Run, Indoor Cycling, Pool Swimming, Open Water Swimming, Elliptical, Climb, Trail Run, Skiing, and Workout. Outdoor Run, Walk, Outdoor Cycling, Open Water Swimming, Climb, Trail Run, and Skiing support GPS track recording.

Starting a Sport: If you have configured the button to launch the sports list, long-press the button from the watch face to quickly access the sports list and start an activity.

Sports Record

Your sports data is saved in the Sports Record. Activities are displayed in reverse chronological order. Tapping a specific record shows detailed data for that activity, which may vary by sport type.

A small red dot next to a record indicates it has not yet been synced to the Zepp App. Sync your data promptly to avoid loss.

To delete a sports record, navigate to the activity's detail page, scroll to the bottom, and tap the delete button.

Weather

Tap the Weather icon ☁️ to view the current weather conditions and the forecast for the coming period. If weather data is unavailable, ensure your Zepp App is connected to the device and updated.

Music

The watch can control your phone's music player via Bluetooth ?, allowing you to play/pause ▶️/⏸️, skip tracks ⏭️, and adjust volume ?.

  1. Ensure your phone's music player is open, then access the Music function on the watch.
  2. For iOS devices, ensure the watch is paired with your phone via Bluetooth.
  3. For Android devices, grant the Zepp App notification reading permission and ensure it runs in the background or is whitelisted for autostart to guarantee notification delivery.

Note: Compatibility with different Android phone systems and music players may affect music control functionality.

Notifications

Enabling Notifications: In the Zepp App, enable "App Notification Reminders" and maintain a Bluetooth connection ? between the watch and phone. You can also enable SMS and call reminders.

  1. For iOS devices, ensure the watch is paired via Bluetooth.
  2. For Android devices, keep the Zepp App running in the background or add it to the autostart whitelist to ensure notifications are delivered from your phone to the watch.

Viewing Notifications: When a notification arrives, the watch screen will light up and display the content. Unread notifications can be accessed from the notification list; tap any notification to view its details.

Deleting Notifications: Notifications that have been read on either the watch or phone will automatically be removed from the watch's notification list. To manually delete a notification, swipe left on it in the list and tap the delete icon ?️.

Alarms

The Amazfit GTS allows you to create and manage alarms directly on the watch or via the Zepp App.

  1. On the watch, access the Alarm function ⏰. Tap the create button (+) to set the alarm time and repeat days. Saved alarms can be managed (enabled/disabled) from the alarm list.
  2. To create an alarm via the Zepp App, navigate to "My" > "Amazfit GTS" > "Watch Alarms" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Alarm Reminder: When an alarm sounds, you can choose to dismiss it or snooze it.

  • Dismiss: Long-press any watch button for 2 seconds.
  • Snooze: Tap the "Z" icon on the right side of the reminder screen. The alarm will sound again in 10 minutes.

Event Reminders

To create event reminders, open the Zepp App, navigate to "My" > "Amazfit" > "Event Reminders", and follow the prompts.

When an event's time arrives, the watch will display a reminder. Tap the "×" button at the bottom to dismiss it.

You can edit or delete event reminders directly on the watch. In the event reminder list, tap the arrow icon (→) on the right side of an event to modify its date and time. To delete an event, swipe left on it in the list and tap the trash can icon ?️.

Stopwatch

The Amazfit GTS stopwatch is accurate to the hundredth of a second. To start it, swipe up from the watch face to access the app list and select "Stopwatch" ⏱️.

  1. Tap the start button ▶️ to begin timing.
  2. During timing, tap the left button to record a lap (up to 99 laps).
  3. Tap the left button again to pause the stopwatch ⏸️.
  4. When paused, tap the left button to reset ?. Tap the right button to resume timing ▶️.
  5. Swiping right displays the current stopwatch and previous lap records.
  6. Swiping left returns to the previous screen or app list.

Countdown

To start a countdown, swipe up from the watch face to the app list and select "Countdown" ⏳.

  1. Pre-set countdowns are available for 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, and 60 minutes. Tap to start immediately.
  2. Custom countdowns can be set from 1 minute up to 23 hours and 29 minutes.

You can pause/resume or stop the countdown at any time. When the countdown finishes, the watch will vibrate. Tap the "×" button at the bottom to close the countdown.

Find Phone

The Amazfit GTS can help you locate your phone ? via Bluetooth ?. To use this feature, swipe up from the watch face to the app list and tap "Find Phone".

  1. This function requires the Zepp App to be running and the watch to be connected to your phone. If the app is not running or the connection is lost, this feature will not work.
  2. Once in the Find Phone screen, the watch will search for your phone for 60 seconds. If not found, it will indicate failure; try again.
  3. Upon successful detection, your phone will ring. Tap the prompt on the watch to silence the phone. A notification will also appear on your phone, which when tapped, will open the Zepp App and stop the ringing.
  4. Tip: To ensure Find Phone is always available, add the Zepp App to your phone's autostart list and keep it running in the background. This prevents connection loss that could disable the feature.

Compass/Barometer/Altimeter

Compass: Open the Compass app ? to detect your current orientation and magnetic north. If calibration is needed, wear the watch and move it in a figure-8 pattern until it vibrates.

Barometer: Swipe up from the Compass screen to access the Barometer, which displays the current atmospheric pressure ?️.

Altimeter: Swipe up from the Barometer screen to access the Altimeter. Altitude readings are calibrated using both the barometer and GPS ?️. For best accuracy, use the watch in open outdoor environments to get a strong GPS signal.

Settings

The Settings menu ⚙️ provides access to various watch and system control functions.

  • Watch Face Settings: Quickly change your watch face.
  • Screen On Duration: Adjust how long the screen stays lit after waking (default 8 seconds, max 15 seconds).
  • Long Press Button: Configure a shortcut for pressing and holding the button (default: Sports list).
  • System: View firmware version, regulatory information, and perform actions like powering off ?, restarting ?, or performing a factory reset.

Sports Functions

The Amazfit GTS supports 12 sports modes, including Outdoor Run, Walk, Outdoor Cycling, Indoor Run, Indoor Cycling, Pool Swimming, Open Water Swimming, Elliptical, Climb, Trail Run, Skiing, and Workout. Specific sports like Outdoor Run, Walk, Outdoor Cycling, Open Water Swimming, Climb, Trail Run, and Skiing record GPS tracks.

Starting a Sport: If configured, long-press the button from the watch face to quickly access the sports list and begin an activity.

Sports Positioning

When starting an outdoor sport, move to an open area to ensure faster GPS positioning. If positioning takes a long time, it might be due to signal obstruction from buildings or outdated AGPS data. Try opening the Zepp App, connecting to your watch, and updating AGPS data.

It is recommended to confirm GPS positioning is successful before starting your activity. Starting an activity without proper GPS lock may result in inaccurate track recording.

Once GPS positioning is successful, the "GO" button will illuminate; tap it to begin your workout.

During Sports

While a sport is active, the watch displays real-time data such as duration, distance, pace/speed, and heart rate ❤️. Raising your wrist or touching the screen will wake the display if it's off. Swipe right to view the date and battery status ?.

Swimming Sports

When swimming ?, the watch screen automatically locks to prevent accidental touches from water droplets. To unlock, briefly press any watch button. The screen will re-lock after it goes to sleep.

Sports Reminders

The watch provides different reminders based on the sport type. For activities like running ? and cycling ?, it typically reminds you every kilometer. For other sports or custom reminders, refer to the "Sports Settings" section.

Sports Pause and End

Auto-Pause: If enabled, the watch automatically pauses when it detects you've stopped moving. It resumes tracking when you start moving again.

Manual Pause: Press any button on the watch to pause the current activity.

  • Resume: Press the right button ▶️ to resume.
  • End: Press the left button ◀️ to stop the current activity and save the data.

Sports Settings

Before starting a sport, you can configure various settings:

  1. Sport Goals: Set goals for distance, duration, or calories. The watch will vibrate when a goal is met.
  2. Sport Reminders: Configure reminders for distance, pace, heart rate, heart rate zones, and speed. The watch will vibrate when a reminder condition is met.
  3. Auto-Pause: When enabled, the watch automatically pauses tracking when you stop moving and resumes when you start again.
  4. Real-time Charts: Display real-time heart rate or pace graphs during your activity.

Note: Not all sports modes support all four setting options; features may vary slightly between sport types.
