Amazfit GTR 2e User Manual

This document provides comprehensive instructions for operating and utilizing the features of the Amazfit GTR 2e smartwatch.

1. Getting Started

This section covers the initial setup and basic operations of your Amazfit GTR 2e.

1.1 Appearance

The smartwatch features an upper button and a lower button. The back of the watch includes a heart rate sensor area and a charging port.

1.2 Power On/Off

  • Power On: Long press the upper button when the watch is off. If it doesn't turn on, ensure it is charged.
  • Power Off: Long press the upper button for 5 seconds to access the power menu, then select power off or restart.
  • Force Restart: Long press the upper button for 10 seconds to force a restart.

1.3 Charging

The watch uses magnetic charging. Align the charging port with the charging dock's magnetic contacts. The watch screen will display charging status. Use the included charging dock and a 5V/1A or higher charger or computer USB port. Ensure the charging port is dry before charging.

1.4 Wearing and Replacing Strap

For optimal comfort and sensor accuracy, wear the watch neither too tight nor too loose, allowing for skin ventilation. For accurate blood oxygen measurements, wear the watch correctly, not on the wrist bone, and keep your arm flat and still. Factors like arm position, movement, hair, or tattoos can affect readings. Adjust strap tightness during exercise and loosen it afterward if the watch feels loose or data is not generated. To replace the strap, follow the visual guide (describe the process: typically involves releasing a pin or mechanism on the strap connector).

Note: After installing a new strap, gently pull it to ensure it's securely attached. Leather straps are not waterproof; use fluoroelastomer or silicone straps for water activities.

1.5 Connection and Pairing

To enhance your experience, download and install the Zepp App by scanning the QR code provided (describe the QR code's purpose: links to app download). The app requires Android 5.0 or iOS 10.0 and above. During initial setup, the watch displays a QR code for pairing. Open the Zepp App on your phone, log in, and scan the watch's QR code to pair.

Pairing with a New Phone: 1. Sync data on the old phone's Zepp App. 2. In the old phone's Zepp App, go to the watch's settings and unbind it. 3. Factory reset the watch and restart it. Then, follow the initial pairing process to connect to the new phone.

1.6 Watch System Update

Keep the watch connected to your phone. Open the Zepp App, navigate to 'Me' > 'My Devices' > 'Amazfit GTR 2e' > 'System Update' to check for and install updates.

1.7 Control Center

Swipe down from the watch face to access the Control Center. Here you can manage functions like flashlight, screen brightness, Do Not Disturb mode, power saving mode, screen lock, find phone, theater mode, and always-on display.

1.8 Time Format

The watch automatically syncs the time format (12-hour or 24-hour) from your connected phone.

1.9 Unit Switching

Units for length and other measurements can be set in the Zepp App under 'Me' > 'More' > 'Settings' > 'Units'. The watch syncs these settings.

Adding Custom Photo Watch Faces: In the Zepp App's Watch Face Store, select the 'Custom Photo' option.

3.4 Switch Watch Face

Long press the current watch face to enter the selection screen. Swipe left or right to browse available watch faces (including pre-installed, synced, and custom ones). Tap a watch face to apply it.

3.5 Delete Watch Face

If your watch's storage is full, you may need to delete watch faces to add new ones. Some pre-installed faces cannot be deleted. To delete: Long press the watch face, swipe left/right to browse, then swipe up on the watch face you wish to remove to reveal the delete option. Tap it to confirm deletion.

4. Shortcut Methods for Using Watch Functions

Access frequently used features quickly.

4.1 Shortcut Cards

Swipe right from the watch face to access the Shortcut Cards page. This provides quick access to functions and information such as the voice assistant, ongoing activities (sports, countdowns), upcoming events, alarms, and recent heart rate data. You can customize the content and order of these cards in the Zepp App ('Me' > 'My Devices' > 'Amazfit GTR 2e' > 'Shortcut Cards').

4.2 Sub-screen Apps

Apps displayed on the side of the watch face offer convenient access to watch functions. You can set these to your preferred apps, like 'Sports'. To change them: Wake the watch, press the upper button for the app list, go to 'Settings' > 'Preferences' > 'Sub-screen Apps'. Swipe to see available apps. If the 'Current Apps' limit is reached, you must remove an existing one to add a new one.

4.3 Pressing the Lower Button

Pressing the lower button can be set to quickly launch an app. By default, it opens 'Sports', but you can change this in the settings to your most-used application.

5. Sports

Track your workouts with various sports modes and features.

5.1 Sports Modes

The watch supports 12 sports modes: Outdoor Run, Treadmill, Outdoor Cycling, Pool Swimming, Open Water Swimming, Elliptical, Climbing, Trail Running, Skiing, and Free Training. To start a workout: Access the app list, select 'Sports', choose your desired mode, and tap 'GO' on the preparation screen.

5.2 Sports GPS Positioning

For outdoor activities, ensure GPS positioning is successful before starting your workout to accurately record your route and data. If prompted to update AGPS, do so via the Zepp App for faster and more reliable positioning. GPS signal strength can be affected by surroundings; open areas provide better reception. The 'GO' button illuminates when GPS is locked.

AGPS (Assisted GPS): Provides GPS satellite orbital data to help the watch achieve faster GPS positioning.

5.3 Sports Reminders and Settings

In the sports preparation screen, tap the 'Settings' icon to configure options specific to the selected sport. You can set goals for distance, time, or calories, and enable reminders for distance, heart rate zones, or pace. The 'Auto-pause' feature automatically pauses tracking when you stop moving and resumes when you start again. You can customize the real-time data display (e.g., heart rate, pace, speed). For pool swimming, you must set the lane length.

5.4 Sports Control

During a workout, you can press the upper button to return to the watch face and use other functions; the workout will continue in the background. You can also control music playback on your phone by swiping right on the data screen.

5.5 View Sports Records

View recent workout records (up to 30) on the watch by accessing the 'Workout Records' app from the app list. Detailed information is available in the Zepp App after syncing.

6. Activity and Health

Monitor your daily activity and key health metrics.

6.1 PAI (Personal Activity Intelligence)

PAI is a personalized health indicator based on heart rate data and activity intensity. Maintaining a PAI score above 100, according to the HUNT Fitness Study, is linked to reduced risk of cardiovascular diseases and increased lifespan. More details are available in the Zepp App.

6.2 Activity Goals

The watch automatically tracks your activity data, including steps, calories burned, standing times, and distance. It uses heart rate data to measure fat-burning minutes. Daily goals are represented by three rings: Activity (steps or calories), Fat Burn, and Stand. The watch vibrates to congratulate you upon achieving a goal.

6.3 Sedentary Reminder

To encourage regular movement, the watch monitors your activity. If you remain inactive for a set period within an hour, it will vibrate to prompt you to move. Completing at least one minute of activity within the hour helps achieve your daily stand goal.

Enabling Sedentary Reminder: In the Zepp App, navigate to 'Me' > 'My Devices' > 'Amazfit GTR 2e' > 'Notification & Reminder' > 'Sedentary Reminder'.

6.4 Heart Rate

Heart rate is a key indicator of physical condition. Frequent measurements help capture heart rate variations. For accurate readings, wear the watch correctly and keep the skin area clean. Avoid applying sunscreen to the measurement area.

6.5 Abnormal Heartbeat Reminder

Enable 'Heart Health Monitoring' in the Zepp App ('Me' > 'My Devices' > 'Amazfit GTR 2e' > 'Health Monitoring') for continuous heart rate monitoring. The watch will vibrate if it detects potential abnormal heartbeats. You can view records and heart rate data in the Heart Rate app. This feature is for reference only and not a substitute for medical diagnosis.

6.6 Heart Rate Alert

When using the all-day heart rate monitoring with a 10-minute measurement frequency, you can enable 'Heart Rate Alert'. The watch will vibrate if your heart rate exceeds a preset threshold and you have been inactive for the last 10 minutes.

6.7 All-day Heart Rate Monitoring

Activate 'All-day Heart Rate Monitoring' in the Zepp App ('Me' > 'My Devices' > 'Amazfit GTR 2e' > 'Health Monitoring') to continuously measure your heart rate at set intervals. 'Activity Heart Rate Monitoring' can be enabled to increase measurement frequency during exercise for more detailed data. View your daily heart rate curve and distribution in the Heart Rate app.

6.8 Manual Measurement

If all-day heart rate monitoring is off, you can manually measure your heart rate from the app list or by setting the Heart Rate app as a sub-screen app. The watch displays the current measurement; historical data is available in the Zepp App.

6.9 Sleep

The watch tracks your sleep patterns, including duration, sleep stages (light, deep, REM), sleep quality score, and provides sleep recommendations. Wear the watch while sleeping, and sync data to the Zepp App to view details.

6.10 Sleep Assistant Monitoring

Enable 'Sleep Assistant Monitoring' in the Zepp App ('Me' > 'My Devices' > 'Amazfit GTR 2e' > 'Health Monitoring') for more detailed sleep analysis, including REM sleep stages.

6.11 Sleep Breathing Quality Monitoring

Activate 'Sleep Breathing Quality Monitoring' in the Zepp App ('Me' > 'My Devices' > 'Amazfit GTR 2e' > 'Health Monitoring') to monitor your breathing quality during sleep.

6.12 Blood Oxygen Saturation (SpO2)

Blood oxygen saturation is a vital parameter for respiratory and circulatory health. To measure SpO2: Open the SpO2 app from the app list or use it as a sub-screen app. For accurate readings, wear the watch one finger's width above the wrist bone, slightly snug, with the screen facing up. Keep your arm still during measurement. Factors like hair, tattoos, movement, or cold temperatures can affect results. The measurement range is 80%-100%. This feature is for reference and not a medical diagnosis.

6.13 Blood Oxygen Saturation Measurement Precautions

Follow these guidelines for accurate SpO2 readings: 1. Wear the watch one finger's width above the prominent wrist bone. 2. Wear it slightly snug for better contact. 3. Place your arm on a stable surface with the screen facing up. 4. Remain still and focus during measurement. 5. Hair, tattoos, movement, cold, or improper fit can affect results. 6. The measurement range is 80%-100%. This function is for reference only and not a medical diagnosis.

6.14 Stress

Stress levels are calculated based on Heart Rate Variability (HRV). High stress may indicate a need for rest. View stress information via the Stress app. You can also enable 'All-day Stress Monitoring' in the Zepp App ('Me' > 'My Devices' > 'Amazfit GTR 2e' > 'Health Monitoring') to track stress levels every 5 minutes.

7. Voice Functions

Control your watch and phone using voice commands.

7.1 Offline Voice

Use offline voice commands to control most watch functions, even without a phone connection. Configure wake-up methods in 'Settings' > 'Preferences' > 'Offline Voice Control' > 'Wake-up Method' (e.g., wrist gesture, screen on). You can view all supported offline voice commands in the Zepp App.

7.2 Online Voice

Connect to online voice assistants like Xiao Ai (Xiaomi's assistant) via the Zepp App. This requires linking your Xiaomi account. Once authorized, you can activate the assistant from the shortcut cards and ask questions or issue commands.

7.3 Control Phone Music Playback

When connected to your phone, you can control music playback (play/pause, next/previous track) from the watch's music app. Ensure Zepp App has notification permissions enabled in your phone's settings.

Android Note: Keep the Zepp App running in the background for music control functionality.

8. Convenient Life

Integrate daily conveniences like payments and access cards.

8.1 Alipay

Bind your Alipay account to display your payment code on the watch. You can switch between QR codes and barcodes for payment, even without your phone. To bind: Open the Alipay app on your phone (version 10.1.5 or higher) and scan the QR code displayed on the watch. To unbind, use either the Alipay app or the watch's Alipay application.

8.2 Card Pack

Add public transport cards and door access cards through the Zepp App. You can then use your watch for contactless payments and access. If a card is not active, you may need to switch to it on the watch.

8.3 Public Transport Card

Activate public transport cards via the Zepp App ('Me' > 'My Devices' > 'Amazfit GTR 2e' > 'Public Transport Card'). These cards share benefits with physical cards and cannot be deleted after binding. Service fees and balances are non-refundable. The watch supports up to 4 public transport cards.

8.4 Door Card Simulation

Simulate NFC door access cards (13.56MHz, unencrypted) by following the guide in the Zepp App ('Me' > 'My Devices' > 'Amazfit GTR 2e' > 'Door Card Simulation'). Place the card you wish to simulate on the watch surface. Note that some encrypted or special function cards (like bank cards) cannot be simulated.

9. Watch Apps

Manage and access the various applications on your watch.

9.1 Watch Apps

Apps are individual functions on the watch, such as Sports, Heart Rate, and Weather. Access them via the app list or by setting them as sub-screen apps for quick access.

9.2 App List Management

Customize the order and visibility of apps on your watch through the Zepp App ('Me' > 'My Devices' > 'Amazfit GTR 2e' > 'Watch App Settings').

10. Temperature

The watch measures the temperature of your skin contact point. For accurate readings, ensure good contact for at least 30 minutes. Temperature units (Celsius/Fahrenheit) can be adjusted in the Zepp App.

Note: When worn, the watch measures local skin temperature, which may differ from core body temperature.

11. Calendar

Create calendar events and receive vibration reminders when they are due. Access and manage your schedule via the Calendar app on the watch or through the Zepp App ('Me' > 'My Devices' > 'Amazfit GTR 2e' > 'Calendar').

12. Weather

View current weather conditions, including wind, humidity, and UV index, as well as a 7-day forecast for your location. Weather data requires a phone connection for updates. Units can be set in the Zepp App.

13. Compass

The compass requires an 8-figure calibration before first use. It displays your orientation and angle. Avoid magnetic interference and keep the watch level for accuracy.

14. Barometer Altimeter

Check atmospheric pressure and altitude. The watch can also display your latitude and longitude after successful positioning.

15. Alarm

Set alarms on the watch or via the Zepp App. Alarms can be set to repeat and can be deleted by long-pressing. Alarms trigger vibration; you can dismiss or snooze them. Snoozed alarms will ring again after 10 minutes, with a limit of 5 snoozes.

16. Stopwatch

The stopwatch offers 0.01-second precision and can record up to 24 hours of time. You can also perform lap timing, with a maximum of 99 laps.

17. Countdown

Set countdown timers. The watch will vibrate when the countdown is complete.

18. Watch Settings
