Wiring and Installation
Piping and Mounting Methods
Various piping methods are available depending on the installation location. The unit supports direct mounting and panel mounting with optional brackets.
Internal Circuit and Wiring
Detailed diagrams are provided for different configurations, including analog output and auto-shift input.
- ZSE40(F)/ISE40--22(L)-(M) (with analog output): Shows connections for DC (+), OUT1, OUT2, and DC (-).
- ZSE40(F)/ISE40--62(L)-(M) (with analog output): Similar to the above, with specific wiring details.
- ZSE40(F)/ISE40--30(L)-(M) (with auto-shift input): Illustrates connections for DC (+), auto-shift input, OUT1, OUT2, and DC (-).
- ZSE40(F)/ISE40--70(L)-(M) (with auto-shift input): Similar to the above, with specific wiring details.
Mounting Bracket Installation
Instructions are provided for installing mounting brackets using M3x5L or M4x5L screws, with specified torque values.
Operation and Settings
Setting Procedure
The document outlines a step-by-step process for setting the pressure switch, including:
- Initial Setting Mode: Setting output modes, response time, and auto/manual modes.
- Manual Set Mode: Manually setting pressure values for outputs.
- Auto Preset Mode: Automatically setting pressure values based on adsorption confirmation (vacuum) or pressure confirmation (gauge).
- Zero Clear: Adjusting the display to zero for atmospheric pressure.
- Key-lock Mode: Preventing accidental operation of buttons.
- Peak/Valley Display Mode: Displaying the maximum or minimum pressure values.
Output Modes
The switches support Normal Open (N.O.) and Normal Closed (N.C.) output modes for both OUT1 and OUT2.
Auto-Shift Function
The auto-shift function allows the switch to automatically adjust its setpoints based on the measured pressure during operation, compensating for variations in the reference pressure.
Error Handling
Error Name | Error Display | Description and Solution |
---|---|---|
Overcurrent | Er1 | Output load current exceeds 80 mA. Disconnect power, remove the cause of overcurrent, and reapply power. |
Residual Pressure Error | Er2 | Atmospheric pressure is outside the specified range during Zero Clear. Set pressure to atmospheric and perform Zero Clear again. |
Applied Pressure Error | Er3 | Applied pressure exceeds the upper or lower limit of the set pressure range. Adjust applied pressure within the range. |
Auto Shift Error | Er4 | Auto-shift input signal is unstable. Ensure stable input or reset. |
System Error | Er6, Er8 | Internal system error. Disconnect power and reapply. If the problem persists, contact SMC. |
Internal Data Error | Er7 | Internal data error. Contact SMC for service. |
External Views and Dimensions
Detailed dimensional drawings are provided for the ZSE40(F)/ISE40 series, including the main unit, brackets, and panel mounting options.
Special Order Specifications
Special order specifications are available, such as reduced space requirements for lead wire exit and extended auto-shift functionality.
Precautions
- Ensure proper grounding of the FG terminal when using switching regulators.
- The pressure switches are CE compliant but are not immune to surges. Implement surge protection measures at the device level.
- Avoid use in environments with oil mist or solvents.
- If the unit is exposed to water or dust, use a Ø4 tube on the atmospheric port to prevent ingress. Ensure the tubing is not kinked or blocked.
- Allow for a warm-up period of 20-30 minutes for accurate readings at low pressures.
