Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Terra, a new grounding system by Clearaudio. Every device in the household has the potential to introduce interference in the high-frequency range, which can be a potential disruptor for clean music enjoyment. However, often the fault lies within the hi-fi chain itself, which can generate unwanted humming. This is usually due to a missing or incorrect grounding. The new grounding system Terra by Clearaudio is our solution to consolidate all necessary groundings at one point and leave possible ground loops in the past.

The star-shaped endpoint prevents any ground loops, and the sand-filled casing additionally protects against vibrations and interference. Through a special grounding plug, the device is grounded via the power outlet but is not directly connected to the electricity. On the back of the Terra grounding device, there are three connections for direct grounding (grounded) and three connections with potential difference (ground lifted).

Safety Instructions

1. General Information

Check the device for visible damage before using it for the first time. If the device is damaged, it should not be connected to the mains. Never connect the device if it has been dropped or gotten wet; contact your dealer to have the device inspected. Never expose the device to rain or moisture. Never touch the power cord of the device with wet hands. For your own safety, regular visual inspections of any defective insulation on the connection cable are also recommended. A damaged cable should be replaced immediately by a specialist! Never pull on the power cable to unplug the device, but directly on the plug! The inside of the device is maintenance-free; never open the housing or try to repair the device yourself, as this can also lead to loss of warranty. Not suitable for children! Scope of delivery may contain small parts that can be swallowed.

2. Intended Use

The Terra is a central grounding spot for connecting multiple ground cables from your hi-fi system. The intended use of the Terra is in accordance with the information provided in the user manual only.

3. Location of Installation

The device should only be set up on leveled surfaces. To prevent overheating of electronic parts, never cover or put anything on top of the Terra.

4. Maintenance

Only use a soft cloth with a smooth surface for cleaning. Never use aggressive cleaning detergent.

5. Service

During the guarantee period, the Terra may only be repaired by the manufacturer; otherwise, the warranty will become void. All Clearaudio products should only be serviced by a specialist retailer. If, despite the high production standard, a repair is necessary, the Terra must be sent to Clearaudio through your dealer.

6. Transport

Always use the original packaging when transporting the Clearaudio Terra. Be sure to pack the device exactly as it was shipped. Safe transport is only guaranteed in the original packaging. When packing, proceed in reverse as described for assembly.

7. Disposal

Do not dispose of this product together with other waste. WEEE Reg. No.: DE26004446

8. CE Marking

This electronic product corresponds to the applicable guidelines for obtaining the CE mark.

Package Contents

The Clearaudio Terra is delivered in specially designed packaging for this product. Ensure that the packaging has no external damage, such as shipping damage. Please retain the packaging, as only the original packaging provides the necessary protection and stability during any subsequent transportation.

Please note: The included power cord is non-conductive, but provides the ground connection between Terra and the protective contact within the wall socket.

Explanation of Connections

Please note: The Terra's grounding connections are designed for clamp and plug-in connections.

Setup

Remove the Terra from the packaging and place it in a suitable location. Connect the grounding box and a suitable electrical outlet using the special power cord. (Make sure that the wall socket you choose has an active protective conductor.)

Connecting the Ground Wires

Use the included grounding cables to connect the respective end devices (e.g., turntable) to the Terra. Make sure to connect all incoming ground connections uniformly to the ground connections WITHOUT potential difference (1a - 1c) OR to the ground connections WITH potential difference (2a - 2c).

It is possible to connect several ground cables per ground connection. We recommend initially grounding all devices to the ground connections without potential difference. If a hum can still be heard afterwards, all ground connections should be changed to the ground connections with a potential difference.

Your purchase receipt is your permanent record of a valuable purchase. It should be kept in a safe place to be referred to as necessary for insurance purposes or when corresponding with Clearaudio.

Important

When seeking warranty service, it is the responsibility of the consumer to establish proof and date of purchase. Your purchase receipt or invoice is adequate for such proof.
