DO NOT CONNECT THIS LIGHT FIXTURE TO AN UNGROUNDED ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. ATTACH GROUND FIXTURE WIRE TO EITHER GREEN GROUND SCREW ON MOUNTING PLATE OR THE GROUND WIRE IN THE OUTLET BOX.
Installation Steps
- SHUT POWER OFF AT THE BREAKER: Turn off power to the work area at the main circuit breaker or fuse box. Consult a licensed electrician if unsure.
- PREPARATION: Ensure all parts are present. Estimated Assembly Time: 30-60 minutes. Recommended installation height: 2.5m (8.2ft) to 5m (16.4ft).
- TOOLS REQUIRED (not included): Flathead screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, Pliers, Silicone Sealant, Eye Protection, Step Ladder.
- MOUNTING: Attach the mounting bracket using screws. Ensure the EVA gasket is properly sealed with silicone sealant for wet locations.
- WIRING: Connect wires using wire nuts: House Live (Black) to Fixture Live (Black), House Neutral (White) to Fixture Neutral (White). Connect ground wires.
- SECURE FIXTURE: Mount the floodlight camera to the junction box. Ensure the raised part of the metal plate engages with the recessed part of the base.
- RESTORE POWER: Turn power back on at the breaker. The floodlight camera will enter setup mode.
Connection Preparation
- Install the Floodlight Camera within Wi-Fi coverage.
- Ensure your smartphone is connected to your wireless router.
- The camera only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (not 5GHz).
- Supported smartphones: iOS 9.0 or Android 4.4 and above. Tablets, Mac, or Windows computers are not supported.
- Avoid special characters or symbols in Wi-Fi network name and password.
Pairing with "Smart Life" App
- Download App: Scan the QR code or search "Smart Life" in the App Store or Google Play.
- Register/Login: Create an account or log in to your existing Smart Life account.
- Connect Device: Ensure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on your smartphone.
- Add Device: In the app, tap '+' and select "Add Device" > "Camera & Lock" > "Floodlight Camera".
- Enter Wi-Fi Password: Select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
- Scan QR Code: Hold the QR code from the app in front of the camera lens (15-20cm distance).
- Confirmation: The camera will indicate successful scanning with audio cues and LED status changes (red indicator flashing, then blue indicator flashing).
- Pairing: Press "I hear prompt" on your phone. The camera will connect to the network.
- Complete: Wait for the device registration (40-60s). The blue LED will turn solid when connected. Tap "Done" to finish.
Camera LED Indicator Status:
- Red indicator always on: System starting up

Resetting the Camera: If pairing fails, long-press the reset button for 3-5 seconds until the red indicator flashes and you hear audio cues. Then, repeat the pairing process.
How to Operate the App
- Motion Detection: Enable "Motion Detection" and "PIR" simultaneously. Adjust sensitivity (Low, Medium, High). When enabled, the lamp can be triggered by motion in darkness.
- Notifications: Receive alert notifications and captured photos when motion is detected. You can disable notification pushes if desired.
- Two-Way Talking: Enable "Microphone" and disable the slash on the "Earpiece" in the app settings to activate two-way communication.
- Siren: Manually activate the siren (67db) via the app.
- Light Control: Manually switch the lamp on/off, adjust brightness, and set timers.
- Micro SD Card Recording: Use a Class 10 or higher speed Micro SD card (up to 128GB). Format to FAT32 before first use. Power off the device before inserting/removing the card.
- Playback: Access recorded videos via the "Playback" section, requiring a Micro SD card.
- Sharing: Share device access with family members. Shared users can view monitoring and notifications but cannot change settings.
- Removing Device: Remove the device from your old phone before switching or connecting to a new one. The device can only be connected by one person at a time unless shared.
Connecting with Alexa Show and Google Assistant
Tap the '+' icon in the app, find the desired voice assistant (e.g., Alexa Show, Google Assistant), and follow the on-screen instructions to link your Olafus camera.
FAQ
- Cannot connect to camera: Reset the camera. If the issue persists, contact customer support with the camera's serial number.
- Micro SD Card not found: Use reputable brands (Samsung, SanDisk, Kingston) with Class 10 speed. Format the card to FAT32.
- Floodlight not turning on automatically: Ensure "Motion Detection" and "PIR" are enabled in the app.
