This manual provides instructions for the Aqua Optima Aurora water dispenser.

Before first use, clean the appliance following the installation and cleaning sections.
Important Safeguards
Necessary precautions must be taken when using electrical appliances:
- Keep the appliance cord out of reach of children.
- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience/knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning safe use and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with this appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be carried out by children without supervision.
- Install the appliance according to the installation instructions in this user manual.
- Use on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
- Use in a well-ventilated area. This appliance emits hot steam.
- Ensure the voltage on the appliance rating plate corresponds to the mains electricity.
- Never place the appliance on or close to sources of heat or very damp places.
- Ensure the power cord does not come into contact with hot surfaces.
- NEVER PLACE THE APPLIANCE BODY, PLUG, OR POWER CORD IN WATER OR OTHER LIQUIDS; ALWAYS WIPE CLEAN WITH A DAMP CLOTH.
- Always ensure hands are dry before using or adjusting switches, or before touching the power plug or connections.
- Do not obstruct ventilation on the sides of the appliance.
- This product is intended to filter tap water only. Do not put water of unknown quality or that has been microbiologically impaired into the product. Use only cold or room temperature water. Do not use for the preparation of baby food.
- Consume filtered water within three days.
- To unplug, grip the plug and remove it directly from the power socket. Never pull the power cord.
- Never use the appliance if the power cord or plug are damaged, or if the appliance itself is faulty.
- Any changes not expressly authorized by the manufacturer may void the guarantee.
- Packaging must never be left within the reach of children as it is potentially dangerous.
- Do not store or use this appliance outdoors.
- If the appliance is used incorrectly, remove the plug and contact Aqua Optima customer services.
- The appliance is designed for use with Aqua Optima Evolve+ filters; performance is not guaranteed with other filters.
- Do not leave the appliance unattended during operation.
- Do not clean with solvents or harsh chemicals.
- Do not move the appliance when in use.
- Do not operate with a damaged cord, plug, or after malfunction/damage. If the cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified person.
- Do not fill the appliance with water over 30°C.
- Do not remove the filter while the appliance is running.
- Do not use the appliance without the filter correctly placed or if the filter is damaged or broken.
- At first use or after complete draining, follow first use instructions.
- The appliance should not be placed in a cabinet when in use.
- Do not store explosive substances (e.g., aerosol cans) in this appliance.
Control Panel
The control panel features several buttons and indicators:
- On/Off Button: Press for 1 second to activate or deactivate. A blue light indicates power is on.
- Lock: Press and hold for 3 seconds to lock or unlock. A white light shows when unlocked, and a red light shows when locked. Auto-locks after 60 seconds of inactivity (child lock).
- Dispense Button: Press to start/stop dispensing. The light fades in and out during dispensing. It shows red for Hot and blue for Chilled.
- Temperature Selection: Use up/down arrows to select Chilled, 40°C to 95°C, or boiling temperature. The chilled icon lights up red when water is not chilled and white when it is chilled.
- Water Volume Selection: Use up/down arrows to select volumes from 200 to 1000ml.
- Filter Icon: An orange light indicates the filter requires changing. Refer to section 3 for filter replacement.
- Refill Icon: An orange light indicates the water tank needs refilling (non-interactive).
- Descale Icon: An orange light indicates the appliance requires descaling. Refer to section 5 for descaling procedures.
Set Up, First Use and Cleaning
Before Using the Aurora Appliance for the First Time
- Remove all packaging. Remove any clear film covering the display.
- Remove the tank lid and extract the inner water tank and water tank. Wash, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
- Prepare the filter as per the instructions.
Preparing the Aqua Optima Evolve+ Water Filter Cartridge
Aqua Optima filters deliver filtered water by reducing chlorine, limescale, organics, herbicides, pesticides, lead, and other heavy metals.
- Remove all packaging from the filter cartridge. Small black carbon particles may be present; this is normal and washes off during preparation.
- Soak the cartridge in a bowl of water for 5-10 minutes to remove air bubbles (visual: diagram A showing soaking).
- Flush for 1 minute under a running tap (visual: diagram B showing flushing).
- The filter cartridge is now ready for use.
Set Up the Appliance
- Lift the water tank from the appliance using the tank handle. Take out the inner water tank.
- Ensure the seal ring is installed correctly.
- Fit the Aqua Optima water filter cartridge into the underside of the inner water tank, rotating clockwise to lock into place (visual: diagram A showing filter fitting). Ensure it is firmly secure.
- Reinsert the inner water tank into the water tank.
- Attach the power cord to the socket at the base of the appliance (visual: diagram B showing power cord attachment).
- Fill the water tank through the lid to the "MAX" line with cold tap water. Refit the water tank. Allow water to filter through to the main tank. Refill the water tank to "MAX" again with cold tap water and refit the water tank into the appliance.
- Place the drip tray and drip tray plate on the front of the appliance (visual: diagram C showing drip tray placement).
- Place a jug or vessel under the dispense outlet.
- Plug the power cord into the mains socket and turn on.
- Use the On/Off button to turn the appliance on.
- Press and hold the lock button for 3 seconds to unlock the appliance. Select the chilled temperature and 1000ml dispense volume (visual: diagram D showing lock button change, diagram E showing setting selection).
- Press the dispense button to start dispensing. For the first 800ml, no water will dispense as the internal chilling tank fills. Repeat this process so that 2L is discarded.
- Your appliance is now ready to use.
Note: To stop dispensing at any time, press the dispense button. Once stopped, the cycle cannot be continued; a new cycle must be started.
The user interface auto-locks after 60 seconds of inactivity or can be manually locked by holding the lock button for 3 seconds.
Sound: Button sounds can be turned off by pressing and holding the temperature down arrow and volume up arrow for 3 seconds in locked mode.
Lock: Automatic lock can be turned off by pressing and holding the temperature up arrow and volume down arrow for 3 seconds in locked mode. Manual locking remains active.
The chilled temperature indicator lights up red when chilling and white when chilled. Initial chilling takes approximately 40 minutes.
The refill icon turns orange when the water tank needs refilling.
The filter icon turns orange when the filter needs replacing (after 100L usage). Follow filter preparation and replacement instructions.
Cleaning
ATTENTION: NEVER PLACE THE APPLIANCE BODY, PLUG, OR POWER CORD IN WATER OR OTHER LIQUIDS; ALWAYS WIPE CLEAN WITH A DAMP CLOTH.
- Always switch off and unplug the appliance before cleaning.
- Ensure the appliance is cool before cleaning.
- Wash, rinse, and dry the inner water tank, water tank, and tank lid regularly, especially when replacing the filter cartridge.
- Wash the drip tray with soapy water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to air dry.
- Do not use scouring pads, solvents, or abrasives, as they may damage the appliance.
- The inner water tank, water tank, tank lid, and drip tray are not dishwasher safe.
- For hygiene and safety, clean the inner water tank, water tank, and tank lid if the appliance has been unused or in storage for longer than 2 weeks.
Replacing the Aqua Optima Evolve+ Filter Cartridge
An orange light on the control panel indicates the filter requires changing.
- This appliance is only intended for use with Aqua Optima Evolve+ filters.
- Drain the water from the tanks and remove the tank lid.
- Take out the inner water tank and remove the filter cartridge by rotating it anti-clockwise.
- Insert the new filter cartridge as described previously.
- Reinsert the inner water tank into the water tank. Fill the water tank up to the MAX line and refit the water tank into the appliance.
- Dispense water to remove any unfiltered water in the appliance and top up.
- Press and hold the filter warning symbol for 3 seconds to reset the filter timer.
- The appliance is now ready to use.
To ensure best performance, the filter cartridge should be changed after 100 litres, approximately 30 days of typical use.
Care & Maintenance
Filtered water should be consumed within 3 days. If the appliance is not used for more than 72 hours, the water system needs draining. Unplug the appliance, take it to a sink, unscrew drainage caps on the underside, and remove silicon bungs. Allow water to drain. Re-insert bungs and caps. Repeat the "first use" process to refill.
If the appliance will be unused for an extended period (e.g., holiday), remove the filter, place it in a clean plastic bag, and store it in the fridge. Before reuse, follow preparation and fitting instructions.
Do not overfill the water tank above the "MAX" line to avoid overflow.
How to Use
- Fill the water tank to the "MAX" mark. Water will filter through the cartridge; this may take time.
- Adjust the drip tray height to accommodate your mug or glass. Ensure the drip tray is fully engaged with the appliance (visual: diagram A showing 3 height options).
- Place a mug or glass on the drip tray (visual: diagram B showing placement).
- Press the On/Off button. The button will light up blue, and the appliance will be locked (visual: diagram C showing button status).
- Press and hold the lock button for 3 seconds to unlock the appliance. The lock button changes from red to white (visual: diagram D showing lock status).
- Press the up or down buttons to select the desired temperature and volume settings (visual: diagram E showing setting selection).
- Press the dispense button to start dispensing. A single beep indicates the start (visual: diagram F showing dispense button press).
- The dispense button light fades in and out during dispensing and beeps twice upon completion.
Note: To stop dispensing at any time, press the dispense button. Once stopped, the cycle cannot be continued; a new cycle must be started.

Descaling
Regular descaling is important for safe and efficient operation. Scale deposits can affect performance.
The appliance will display a descale warning symbol when descaling is required.
Ensure the water tank is empty and the filter is removed before descaling.
Descale Procedure:
- Fill the water tank with 2L of 4%-5% vinegar solution.
- Place a jug under the dispense nozzle.
- Press and hold the descale warning symbol for 3 seconds.
- The descale warning symbol will flash, and the appliance will run a descale process. Caution: Dispense solution will be hot; around 60°C.
- When the water tank is empty, refill with 2L of cold water and press the descale warning symbol again.
- The appliance will run a cleaning cycle. Caution: Dispense solution will be hot; around 60°C.
- The descale warning symbol will turn off once complete.
- Re-insert the Aqua Optima filter after the descale process is complete.
- The appliance is now ready to use.
Note: To abort the descale process, press the dispense button. The descale indicator will not reset unless the process is run completely.
Installation
The appliance comes with UK and EU plug types; use the correct one.
WARNING: PLEASE DO NOT DISASSEMBLE THIS APPLIANCE YOURSELF. ELECTRIC ELEMENTS WILL BE EXPOSED AND THERE IS A RISK OF ELECTROCUTION.
Positioning of Appliance
- Do not install in a very damp or hot place, or near a heat source.
- Place the appliance on a flat and even surface.
- Install in a dry place to avoid damage, moisture, or rust.
- Do not use this appliance outdoors; it is only suitable for indoor use.
- Do not overhang the power cord and/or water tray off a table, counter, or other surface, and avoid contact with hot surfaces.
- WARNING: DO NOT INSTALL THIS APPLIANCE IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT.
- Ensure ventilation on both sides is never blocked or covered.
- WARNING: When positioning, ensure the supply cord is not trapped or damaged.
- WARNING: Do not locate multiple portable socket-outlets or portable power supplies at the rear of the appliance.
Troubleshooting
