Tips and Precautions
- Install this unit in a well-ventilated, cool, dry, clean place, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, vibration, dust, moisture, or cold.
- On the top of this unit, do NOT place: other components (which may cause damage or discoloration), burning objects (which may cause fire, damage, or personal injury), or containers with liquid (which may fall and cause electrical shock or damage).
- Do not cover this unit with a newspaper, tablecloth, curtain, etc., to avoid obstructing heat radiation. If the temperature inside rises, it may cause fire, damage, or personal injury.
- Only the specified voltage must be used. Using a higher voltage is dangerous and may cause fire, damage, or personal injury. SMSL is not responsible for any damage resulting from use with a voltage other than that specified.
- Do not attempt to modify or fix this unit. Contact qualified SMSL service personnel for any needed service. The cabinet should never be opened.
- When not planning to use this unit for long periods (e.g., vacation), disconnect the power cable from the AC wall outlet.
- For added protection during a lightning storm, or when left unattended and unused for long periods, unplug it from the wall outlet. This will prevent damage due to lightning and power-line surges.

Note:
- This is the Aux power input. When using phones to connect via USB, you need to connect a 5V DC power to prevent phone overcurrent.
- Do not use Quick-Charge power for this connector, as Quick-Charge power may output over 5V, which is dangerous for this unit.

Remote Control
Installation: Install 2 x AAA batteries as instructed.
Usage: When using the remote control, point it toward the remote control signal receiver on the main unit from a distance of 5 m (16 ft) or less. Do not place obstructions between the main unit and the remote control.
Interference: The remote control may not work if the signal receiver is exposed to direct sunlight or bright light. If this occurs, try moving the unit. Be aware that use of this remote control could cause unintentional operation of other infra-controlled devices.
Operating the Remote Control
The remote control features the following buttons:
- Power ON/OFF
- Mute
- Volume up
- Volume down
- Display ON/OFF
- Input switch
Additional buttons include FN, A, B, and C. Buttons A, B, and C are used to switch control to the Sanskrit 10th. A note advises not to press these buttons for other purposes.
Usage Diagram Description: The remote control can be used effectively within a 30-degree angle range and up to approximately 8 meters (26 ft) from the unit.
Note: This remote controller uses 2 x R03/AAA batteries. When first operating the Sanskrit 10th, press the C key first.
Power/Input Key Functions
1. POWER/INPUT KEY
- Hold the key to switch power ON or OFF.
- Press the key to switch INPUTS between “USB, COAXIAL, OPTICAL”, which display as 'in1', 'in2', 'in3'.
2. ROTATE THE UNIT
The Sanskrit 10th is designed for minimized desktop usage and offers 3 setup modes. A built-in digital accelerometer allows the display to automatically rotate to match the unit's orientation, ensuring readability. The three modes are visually represented with the display oriented horizontally, vertically, and upside down. It is important to note that the unit must be placed horizontally for the display to function correctly.
3. TURN OFF THE DISPLAY
- The display can be turned off to enjoy music without light interference.
- Use the 'FN' key on the remote controller to toggle this function on or off.
- When the display is off, a blue LED indicates this mode.
- Any operation will restore the display for 5 seconds when in display-off mode.
4. DISPLAY INSTRUCTIONS
- When starting up, the unit displays 'Sanskrit 10th'.
- After startup, the unit displays volume and current sampling rate for 2 seconds.
- If there is no input signal or the sampling rate is out of range, the display shows '--'.
- When switching inputs, the display shows 'in1', 'in2', or 'in3'.
- When adjusting volume, the display shows the volume in the range of 00 (min) to 40 (max).
5. MUTING
- Press the MUTE key on the remote controller to mute the audio output; the volume flashes on the display if it is not off.
- Pressing the MUTE key again or adjusting the volume will cancel muting.
Factory Reset
Plug in the power cable while pressing the POWER button until the Sanskrit 10th powers on.
Warranty Terms
The warranty card should be completed by the Dealer and purchaser and returned to SMSL or its Distributor within 8 days of purchase. This warranty is personal to the original Purchaser and is not transferable. Retain the sales receipt as proof of purchase. Warranty claims should ideally be made through the Dealer from whom the equipment was purchased.
Warranty Exclusions:
- Damage caused through neglect, accident, misuse, wear and tear, or through incorrect installation, adjustment, or repair by unauthorized personnel. Unauthorized servicing voids the warranty.
- Liability for damage or loss occurring in transit to or from the purchaser.
- Consequential damage, loss, or injury, arising from or in conjunction with this equipment.
Equipment for attention under warranty should be consigned return carriage paid. If returned equipment is found to comply with the published specification, SMSL reserves the right to raise a charge.
These conditions do not affect statutory consumer rights.
