Cleaning and Maintenance
- Disconnect the machine from the power outlet and let it cool down before cleaning.
- Bread Pan: Wipe inside and outside with a damp cloth. Do not use sharp or abrasive agents to protect the non-stick coating. Dry completely before installation.
- If the kneading blade is difficult to remove, add warm water to soak for 30 minutes, then remove and clean with a wet rag.
- Top Lid: Allow to cool. Wipe the lid and interior of the viewing window with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Note: It is suggested not to disassemble the lid for cleaning.
- Housing: Gently wipe the outer surface with a wet cloth, then a dry cloth. Never use petrol or other liquids. Never immerse the housing in water.
- Before storing, ensure the bread maker is completely cooled, clean, dry, and the lid is closed.
Ingredients Introduction
- Bread Flour: Most important ingredient for yeast-bread recipes. High gluten content keeps bread size stable. Gluten content varies by region.
- All-Purpose Flour: Suitable for "quick" bread or bread made with Quick settings. Bread flour is better for yeast bread.
- Whole-Wheat Flour: Ground from the entire wheat kernel. Higher fiber and nutritional content. Heavier, resulting in smaller loaves with a denser texture. Combines well with Bread Flour for best results.
- Black Wheat Flour (Rye Flour): High-fiber flour, similar to whole-wheat. Requires a high proportion of bread flour for good rising.
- Self-rising flour: Contains baking powder, used for cakes. Do not use with yeast.
- Corn flour and oatmeal flour: Used as additives for rough bread, enhancing flavor and texture.
- Sugar: "Food" for yeast, increases sweetness and color, aids rising. White sugar is common; brown, powdered, or cotton sugar may be used.
- Yeast: A living organism; keep refrigerated. Needs carbohydrates from sugar and flour. Available as bread machine yeast, active dry yeast, and instant yeast. Produces carbon dioxide during yeasting, expanding bread and softening fiber. (1 tbsp dry yeast = 3 tsp dry yeast = 15ml yeast)
- Tip: Check yeast freshness by mixing warm water (45-50°C) with sugar, then adding yeast. If it bubbles/grows after 10 minutes, it's active.
- Salt: Improves bread flavor and crust color. Restrains yeast activity. Too much salt can result in smaller bread.
- Egg: Improves bread texture, making it more nourishing and larger. Whisk with other liquid ingredients.
- Grease, Butter and Vegetable Oil: Grease softens bread and delays spoilage. Melt butter or chop into small pieces before adding.
- Baking Powder: Used for raising Ultra Fast bread and cake. Produces air for a softer texture.
- Baking Soda: Similar to baking powder, can be used in combination.
- Water and Other Liquids (always add first): Essential for bread making. Water should be at room temperature (20°C-25°C). Some recipes may call for milk or other liquids to enhance flavor. Never use dairy with the Delay Timer option.
Use Exact Measurement
TIPS: Proper measurement is crucial for good bread. Measure each ingredient carefully and add to the bread pan in the specified order. Using a measuring cup or teaspoon is recommended for accuracy.
Adding Sequence
Always add ingredients in the order given in the recipe:
- FIRST: Liquid ingredients
- SECOND: Dry ingredients
- LAST: Yeast (place on dry flour, avoid contact with liquid or salt)
When using the Delay Timer for a long period, avoid perishable ingredients like eggs or milk.
After the first kneading, a beep will sound. Add fruit ingredients then. Adding them too early may diminish flavor.
Liquid Ingredients
Measure liquids with measuring cups with clear markings and a spout. Place the cup on a counter and check the liquid level at eye level. For measuring oil or other ingredients, clean the cup thoroughly.
Dry Measurements
Measure dry ingredients by gently spooning them into the measuring cup and leveling off with a knife. Do not tap the cup or pack down the contents. Stir flour to aerate it before measuring. Use a measuring teaspoon for small amounts like salt or sugar, ensuring it is leveled.
Measuring cup: "CUP" means a full cup (240ML).
Measuring Tsp: Includes tea Tsp and table Tsp.
Tea Tsp (Tsp): Used for yeast and salt.
Table Tsp (Tbsp): Used for sugar and oil.
Hook: Used to pull out the kneading blade from the bread.
Troubleshooting
NO. | Problem | Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Smoke from ventilation hole when baking | Some ingredients adhere to the heat element or nearby; oil remained on the surface of the heat element (first use). | Unplug the bread maker and clean the heat element. Be careful not to burn yourself. During the first use, operate with the lid open. |
2 | Bread bottom crust is too thick | Keep bread warm and leave bread in the bread pan for a long time so that water is losing too much. | Take bread out soon without keeping it warm. |
3 | It is very difficult to take bread out | Kneader adheres tightly to the shaft in bread pan. | After taking bread out, put hot water into the bread pan and immerse the kneader for 10 minutes, then take it out and clean. |
4 | Stir ingredients not evenly and bake badly | 1. Selected program menu is improper. 2. After operating, open cover several times and bread is dry, no brown crust color. 3. Stir resistance is too large so that kneader almost can't rotate and stir adequately. |
1. Select the proper program menu. 2. Don't open cover at the last rise. 3. Check kneader hole, then take bread pan out and operate without load. If not normal, contact the authorized service facility. |
5 | Display "HHH" after pressing START/STOP button | The temperature in the bread maker is too high to make bread. | Press START/STOP button and unplug the bread maker, then take the bread pan out and open the cover until the bread maker cools down. |
6 | Hear the motor noises but dough isn't stirred | Bread pan is fixed improperly or dough is too large to be stirred. | Check whether the bread pan is fixed properly and the dough is made according to the recipe and the ingredients are weighed accurately. |
7 | Bread size is so large as to push cover | Yeast is too much or flour is excessive or water is too much or environment temperature is too high. | Check the above factors, reduce properly the amount according to the true reasons. |
8 | Bread size is too small or bread has no rise | No yeast or the amount of yeast is not enough, moreover, yeast may have poor activity as water temperature is too high or yeast is mixed together with salt, or the environment temperature is lower. | Check the amount and performance of yeast, increase the environment temperature properly. |
9 | Dough is so large to overflow bread pan | The amount of liquids is so much as to make dough soft and yeast is also excessive. | Reduce the amount of liquids and improve dough rigidity. |
10 | Bread collapses in the middle parts when baking dough | 1. Used flour is not strong powder and can't make dough rise. 2. Yeast rate is too rapid or yeast temperature is too high. 3. Excessive water makes dough too wet and soft. |
1. Use bread flour or strong powder. 2. Yeast is used under room temperature. 3. According to the ability of absorbing water, adjust water on recipe. |
11 | Bread weight is very large and organization construct is too dense | 1. Too much flour or short of water. 2. Too many fruit ingredients or too much whole wheat flour. |
1. Reduce flour or increase water. 2. Reduce the amount of corresponding ingredients and increase yeast. |
12 | Middle parts are hollow after cutting bread | 1. Excessive water or yeast or no salt. 2. Water temperature is too high. |
1. Reduce properly water or yeast and check salt. 2. Check water temperature. |
13 | Bread surface is adhered to dry powder | 1. There is strong agglutination ingredients in bread such as butter and bananas etc. | Do not add strong agglutination ingredients into bread. |
14 | Crust is too thick and baking color is too dark when making cakes or food with excessive sugar | 2. Stir not adequately for short of water. Different recipes or ingredients have great effect on making bread, baking color will become very dark because of much sugar. |
Check water and mechanical construct of bread maker. If baking color is too dark for the recipe with excessive sugar, press START/STOP to interrupt the program ahead 5-10min of intended finishing time. Before removing the bread, keep the bread or cake in the bread pan for about 20 minutes with the cover closed. |
