3 Gallon Compact Electric Water Heater: Concise Use & Care Manual
1. Safety
1.1 T&P Relief Valve
This critical valve (meets ANSI Z21.22/CSA 4.4, ASME Boiler Code) prevents tank rupture by releasing water if pressure >125 psi or temp >250°F (121°C). Monthly Check: Place a bucket under the overflow pipe, lift the valve lever 90°, confirm water flows freely. Release lever—flow should stop. Replace if leaking/persistent no-flow.
1.2 Installation Clearance
Keep 12 inches of space around the unit; combustibles ≥ 1 foot away. Follow local seismic codes for multi-mount (wall/floor).
2. Installation & Operation
2.1 Setup
Choose a level, dry spot with 240V hardwired circuit (110V incompatible). Connect water lines; install T&P valve at inlet. Turn on water first, then power (avoids element damage).
2.2 Normal Use
Heats water automatically. Initial T&P valve droplets (thermal expansion) are normal—persistent dripping means a faulty valve.
3. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
3.1 Regular Care (6 Months)
Inspect wiring for damage; use conduit for protection. Wipe exterior with a dry cloth (keep water off electronics).
3.2 Fixes
No hot water: Reset circuit breaker or press the red control panel “reset” button.
Leaking T&P valve: Test (1.1) or replace.
Overheating: Reset; if frequent, call a technician.
4. Warranty
T&P valve is warranty-covered (check manufacturer docs). Replace if it fails tests or shows corrosion/mineral buildup.
Follow local codes. For complex repairs, use a certified technician.
