Product Overview

Read this manual carefully before use, and retain it for future reference.

The Xiaomi Smart Camera 3 PTZ Version has the following components:

• Indicator: Status light.
• Lens: Captures video.
• Microphone: Records audio.
• MicroSD Card Slot: (Visible when lens is facing upward) For storing video footage.
• Loudspeaker: Outputs audio.
• Micro-USB Power Port: Connects to power adapter.
• Reset Button: Used for resetting the device.

Installation

The camera can be placed on horizontal surfaces like desks, dining tables, and coffee tables, or mounted on a wall.

Mounting the camera on a wall:

1. Mark the positions for the base mounting holes on the wall using a pencil. Drill two holes with a diameter of approximately 6 mm and a depth of approximately 30 mm.
2. Insert a plastic wall plug into each drilled hole.
3. Place the side of the base with arrows facing forward, align the holes, insert screws, and tighten them into the wall plugs with a Phillips head screwdriver.
4. Align the grooves on the bottom of the camera with the raised part on the base, and turn it clockwise until it locks into place.

Notes:

• The wall must be able to support at least three times the total weight of the camera.

Warning: To prevent possible injury, the camera must be securely fixed to the ceiling or wall according to the installation instructions.

How to Use

Installing a microSD card

• Ensure the camera is turned off. Push the lens upward to reveal the microSD card slot. Insert the microSD card with its contact points facing downward.

Note: Unplug the security camera before inserting or removing the MicroSD card. Use a genuine MicroSD card from a qualified supplier with a reading/writing speed of no less than U1/Class 10. Maximum support capacity is 256GB, and only FAT32 format is supported. MicroSD cards larger than 64GB may need to be formatted to FAT32 in Settings > Storage Settings on the camera plug-in page of the Xiaomi Home/Xiaomi Home App.

Turning on the camera

Plug the charging cable into the Micro-USB power port on the back. The camera automatically turns on, and the indicator quickly blinks orange.

Note: Do not turn or force the lens to rotate while the camera is working. If the lens positioning is inaccurate, calibrate it in the Mi Home/Xiaomi Home app.

Indicator Status:

• Blue: Connected successfully/Working properly.
• Blinking blue: Network error.
• Quickly blinking orange: To be connected.
• Slowly blinking orange: Updating.

Connect with Mi Home/Xiaomi Home App

This product works with the Mi Home/Xiaomi Home app. Control your device using the app. To use this product, download and install the Mi Home/Xiaomi Home app. Scan the QR code to download and install the app. You will be directed to the connection setup page if the app is installed already. Alternatively, search "Mi Home/Xiaomi Home" in the app store to download and install it.

Make sure your phone has connected to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Open the Mi Home/Xiaomi Home app, tap "+" on the upper right, and follow the prompts to add your device.

Note: The app is referred to as Xiaomi Home app in Europe (except for Russia). The name of the app displayed on your device should be taken as the default. The app version might have been updated; follow instructions based on the current app version.

Ensure the camera is turned on and the network connection is stable during connecting. The indicator blinks orange when waiting for a connection and turns blue once the camera is successfully connected.

Restoring factory settings

If the network connection or the Xiaomi Account paired with the camera has changed, restore factory settings. Press and hold the reset button for about three seconds. Once the indicator starts quickly blinking orange, factory settings have been restored. You can then reconnect the camera with the app.

Note: Restoring factory settings will not delete the content on the microSD card.

Accessing the Mi Home App:

1. Click "Profile", then "Additional settings".
2. Click "Region", change the Country to "Chinese mainland".
3. Tap "+" at the upper right corner, select "Scan".
4. Click "Device Reset" (press and hold the reset button for about 7 seconds until a voice prompt confirms reset).
5. Select "Select Wi-Fi networks".
6. Operate according to the prompts.
7. Wait for successful binding.

Note: The adapter is included. Because this product is a Chinese version, change the country to "China" when connecting the "MI HOME" APP, and set the language according to your local country. If your Mi Home account is connected to other devices in other regions, it cannot be connected to China devices simultaneously.

Real-time Surveillance

In the app, view real-time surveillance, adjust image sharpness, horizontal and vertical angles, capture and record, and make calls.

Infrared Night Vision

As ambient light dims, the camera automatically switches to night vision mode. With built-in infrared lights, it clearly captures video in the dark.

Playback

Playback is available when a compatible microSD card is installed or cloud storage is purchased. Tap the playback button in the Mi Home/Xiaomi Home app plugin, then drag the timeline to select the desired time period. Variable speed playback is supported.

Home Surveillance Assistant

When the home surveillance assistant is enabled, the camera records videos if it detects human movement within its surveilled area. You will receive an app push notification. (Human movement detection can be enabled after purchasing and activating cloud storage service.) You can enable or disable this assistant in the Mi Home/Xiaomi Home app. You can set 24-hour, daytime, nighttime, custom period surveillance, alert sensitivity, and alert time intervals.

Video Sharing

In the app, select the device sharing option in the settings menu to share the camera with others. Users you share with need to download the app and sign in with their Xiaomi Account.

Precautions

• Operating temperature range: -10°C to 45°C. Do not use the camera outside this range.
• The camera is a precision electronic product. Ensure normal operation by avoiding high humidity levels and water ingress.
• To improve performance, do not place the lens facing or next to reflective surfaces like glass windows or white walls, as this can cause overly bright or dark areas, or white images.
• Install the camera in an area with a strong Wi-Fi signal, away from objects that may affect it, such as metal objects or microwave ovens.
• Under normal conditions, keep at least 20 cm separation between the antenna and the user's body.
• Wiring must comply with applicable standards and laws, and be periodically inspected with surge protection.
• Use a quality power adapter compliant with safety standards (e.g., EN 62368-1) with protection against overvoltage, overheating, short circuit, and overload.
