Checking the Power Reserve

Indicates power reserve in the rechargeable cell.

  1. Push the crown in to Position 0.
  2. Press and release the lower right button Ⓐ. The second hand moves to indicate the power reserve status:
    • If the second hand points "OK" or "NO" immediately: Power reserve is sufficient.
    • If the second hand turns counterclockwise once and then points "OK" or "NO": Charging is needed.
  3. Press and release the lower right button Ⓐ to finish. The watch returns to normal indication automatically in about 10 seconds.

Note: "OK" and "NO" indicate signal reception results, not power reserve status.

Checking the Previous Signal Reception Result

  1. Push the crown in to Position 0.
  2. Press and release the lower right button Ⓐ. The second hand indicates the result of the last signal reception:
    • OK: Reception was successful.
    • NO: Reception failed.

Press the button again to return to normal indication. It returns automatically in about 10 seconds. If the crown was operated after the last reception, the second hand will point "NO" regardless of the actual result.

Switching Summer Time and Standard Time

  1. Pull the crown out to Position 1. The second hand indicates the current time zone setting.
  2. Rotate the crown to choose a time zone for which you want to change the summer time setting. Refer to the table on the previous page for time zones and second hand positions.
  3. Pull the crown out to Position 2. The second hand indicates the current summer time setting.
  4. Rotate the crown to change the summer time setting:
    • SMT ON [Summer Time Active]: Summer time is indicated. The watch automatically switches between summer and standard time based on summer time signals.
    • SMT OFF [Standard Time Active]: Standard time is always indicated, regardless of summer time signals.
  5. Push the crown in to Position 0 to finish.

Note: "SMT" may be omitted on some models.

Receiving the Signal Manually (On-Demand Reception)

Reception may take up to 30 minutes. The signals received depend on the set time zone.

  1. Push the crown in to Position 0.
  2. Press and hold the lower right button Ⓐ for 2 seconds or more. The second hand indicates the last signal reception result. Then, the second hand points to "RX" [Receiving Signal] and signal reception begins.
  3. Place the watch in a location with good conditions for time signal reception. Do not move the watch while the second hand points "RX". The watch returns to normal indication after reception is complete.

To Cancel Signal Reception: Pressing and holding the button Ⓐ for 2 seconds or more while the second hand points "RX" cancels reception and returns the watch to normal indication.

Adjusting the Time Manually

  1. Pull the crown out to Position 2.
  2. Press and release the lower right button Ⓐ. The second hand points to 0 seconds.
  3. Rotate the crown to set the minute. You can adjust the time in one-minute increments. Each minute hand movement causes the second hand to complete a full rotation. Rapid crown rotation causes continuous movement; rotate the crown in either direction to stop it.
  4. Press and release the lower right button Ⓐ. The hour hand moves slightly.
  5. Rotate the crown to set the hour. When the moon indicator on the pictorial indication (Sun and Moon) is directly above, it signifies AM. Pay attention to whether the time is AM or PM. The hour hand and the pictorial indication move synchronously. Rapid crown rotation causes continuous movement; rotate the crown in either direction to stop it.
  6. Push the crown in to Position 0, using a reliable time source, to finish. The watch returns to normal indication, and the second hand starts moving from 0 seconds.

Checking the Reference Position

If the time is not shown correctly even after proper signal reception, check the current reference position.

The reference position is the base position for all hands and indications to properly display time.

  1. Pull the crown out to Position 1.
  2. Press and hold the lower right button Ⓐ for 5 seconds or more. The hands and indications move to their current reference position. Release the button as the hands start to move. Proceed to the next step when the hands and indications stop.
  3. Check the reference position:
    • Correct Reference Positions:
    • Hour, minute, and second hands: 00:00:00
    • Pictorial indication (Sun and Moon): [Moon indicator at top]

If the current reference position differs from the correct one, proceed to "Correcting the Reference Position".

  1. Push the crown in to Position 0 to finish. The watch returns to normal indication.

Correcting the Reference Position

  1. Pull the crown out to Position 1.
  2. Press and hold the lower right button Ⓐ for 5 seconds or more. The hands and indications move to their current reference position. Release the button as the hands start to move. Proceed to the next step when the hands and indications stop.
  3. Pull the crown out to Position 2. The hour hand and the pictorial indication (Sun and Moon) move slightly.
  4. Rotate the crown to adjust the hour hand and the pictorial indication (Sun and Moon) to the correct reference position. They move synchronously.
  5. Push the crown in to Position 0 to finish. The watch returns to normal indication.

Resetting the Watch — All Reset

If the watch is not functioning properly, you can reset all settings.

  1. Pull the crown out to Position 2.
  2. Press and hold the lower right button Ⓐ for 7 seconds or more. The hands will start moving, and the All Reset will be executed. Wait until their movement completely stops (this may take up to 6 minutes).

Setting Values After All Reset

  • Time: 0:00:00 AM
  • World time: Time zone: 0
  • Summer time setting: SMT OFF at all time zones

After All Reset

After performing an All Reset, adjust the reference position. Then, set the time zone and perform a manual signal reception to adjust the time after that.
