6. Use Auto-Calibration
To perform auto-calibration, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the main menu and tap "User Settings" to access the user setting page.
- Tap "Self Adjust" to initiate the auto-calibration mode.
- During the process, the upper left corner of the screen will display "Calibrating" in red. This indicator will disappear upon successful completion of the calibration.
Important Notes for Auto-Calibration:
- Ensure all probes are removed from the oscilloscope before starting auto-calibration.
- The auto-calibration process typically takes between 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
- If the ambient temperature changes by more than 10°C, it is advisable to perform auto-calibration again to maintain accuracy.
7. Probe Compensation
Probe compensation is a recommended procedure for first-time use or when the operating temperature changes by 10°C or more, ensuring accurate measurements.
Compensation Procedure:
- Connect the probe to any available channel on the oscilloscope.
- Hook the probe tip to the oscilloscope's designated calibration signal output terminal.
- Securely clamp the probe's ground lead to the oscilloscope's ground terminal.
- Press the "Auto" button on the oscilloscope to automatically adjust settings.
- Observe the waveform displayed on the oscilloscope screen to verify the compensation.
Oscilloscopes typically present waveforms in three distinct situations:
- Yellow waveform: This indicates a normal, well-compensated waveform, requiring no further adjustment.
- Blue/purple waveform: This signifies that the waveform requires adjustment for optimal performance.
Use the trimmer adjustment screw located on the probe connector to fine-tune the waveform. Adjust until it displays a clean, sharp square wave.
