Installation Steps

STEP 1: Mount Outside Antenna & Route Cable

Determine the desired location for the Outside Antenna on your RV. Mount the Outside Antenna to a ladder or pole, ensuring it is positioned above the RV's roof line and clear of any metal obstructions. A common mounting location is on the RV ladder.

Important: Adhere to local height restrictions. These generally range from 14 feet in western states to 13 feet 6 inches in eastern states.

To assemble the Outside Antenna, thread the cable through the Mast Extension and then through the Side Exit Adapter. An Antenna Spring can be used optionally for added flexibility.

Verify the Outside Antenna is at the correct height. Apply thread locker (provided) to the thread points and screw into place. When attaching the Side Exit Adapter, hold the antenna vertically and screw the adapter from the bottom up to prevent cable twisting.

The L-Bracket Mount and hardware are provided for mounting to a ladder or pole. If using the Spring, the Side Exit Adapter is required.

Route the 25' RG-6 cable from inside the RV to the Outside Antenna. Ensure the Outside Antenna location is within reach of the booster using the 25' coax cable. Optimal system performance is achieved with maximum vertical and horizontal separation between antennas.

STEP 2: Connect Cable to Outside Antenna

After routing the RG-6 Cable into the RV, connect it securely to the Outside Antenna.

STEP 3: Inside Antenna Location & Connect Cable

Place the Inside Antenna in the RV where a stronger signal is desired. Connect the Inside Antenna using the RG-58 cable.

STEP 4: Booster Location & Connect Cables

Find a suitable location for the Drive Reach Booster and secure it using the provided bracket. Connect the cable from the Outside Antenna to the port labeled "Outside Antenna" on the booster. Connect the cable from the Inside Antenna to the port labeled "Inside Antenna" on the booster.

STEP 5: Connect Power Supply to Booster

Connect the power supply cord to the end of the booster, labeled "----", and plug it into a standard 110V wall outlet. You can now enjoy your boosted signal.

Booster Light Patterns

SOLID GREEN: Indicates the Drive Reach Booster is functioning correctly with no installation issues.

SOLID RED: The band has shut off due to oscillation (a feedback loop). This is a safety feature to prevent interference with nearby cell towers. Refer to the Troubleshooting section.

BLINKING RED, THEN SOLID GREEN: One or more booster bands have reduced power due to minor oscillation. This is a safety feature. If signal boost is satisfactory, no further action is needed. If not, refer to Troubleshooting.

Light Off: If the booster light is off, verify the power supply is receiving power.

The Signal Booster can be reset by disconnecting and reconnecting the power supply. After troubleshooting, initiate a new power cycle.

Troubleshooting

FIXING BLINKING OR RED LIGHT ISSUES

This section applies if the booster is red or blinking red and you are not experiencing the desired signal boost.

  1. Unplug the Booster's power supply.
  2. Relocate the inside and outside antennas further apart to increase separation distance and prevent feedback.
  3. Plug the power supply back in.
  4. Monitor the indicator light. If a solid or blinking red light appears after a few seconds, repeat steps 1-3, increasing separation distance until the condition is corrected and desired coverage is achieved. Note: Horizontal separation often requires less distance than vertical separation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How can I contact customer support?
Customer Support is available Monday through Friday by calling 866.294.1660 or visiting support.weboost.com.

Why do I need to create distance between the booster and the antenna?
Antennas create signal spheres. When these spheres overlap, oscillation (noise) occurs, causing the booster to reduce power or shut down to prevent damage. Maximizing separation between the inside and outside antennas prevents this overlap.

Each Signal Booster is individually tested and factory set to ensure FCC compliance. The Signal Booster cannot be adjusted without factory reprogramming or disabling the hardware. The Signal Booster will amplify, but not alter incoming and outgoing signals in order to increase coverage of authorized frequency bands only. If the Signal Booster is not in use for five minutes, it will reduce gain until a signal is detected. If a detected signal is too high in a frequency band, or if the Signal Booster detects an oscillation, the Signal Booster will automatically turn the power off on that band. For a detected oscillation, the Signal Booster will automatically resume normal operation after a minimum of 1 minute. After 5 (five) such automatic restarts, any problematic bands are permanently shut off until the Signal Booster has been manually restarted by momentarily removing power from the Signal Booster. Noise power, gain, and linearity are maintained by the Signal Booster's microprocessor.

This device complies with Part 15 of FCC rules. Operation is subject to two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by weBoost could void the authority to operate this equipment.
