Setup:

The GoSports® Splash Net® PRO brings exciting volleyball action to any pool day! Consider your pool layout when placing the net to avoid water that is too deep or too shallow. The net has a maximum width of 25 feet and can be adjusted to be shorter to fit your pool's width.

Pool Layout Examples:

  • Lap Pools: The net is stretched across the width of the pool.
  • Rounded Pools: The net is positioned to fit the curve of the pool.
  • Rectangular Pools: The net is stretched across the width. A note suggests setting up in the shallow end for this pool type.

Diagram Description: Illustrations show how the Splash Net® PRO can be set up in different pool shapes, including lap, rounded, and rectangular pools. A specific note advises setting up in the shallow end for rectangular pools.

Assembly is continued on the back of this document. ▶️

Assembly Instructions:

Two-person assembly is required.

  1. First, remove the Net Connector Straps (if any) from the Uprights before assembly.

Begin by assembling the two Bases. Insert an Upright through the bottom hole of each Base and ensure both parts are firmly secured. Then, slide one bottom Net Connector Strap and one top Net Connector Strap onto each Upright.

Diagram Description: Step 1 shows inserting an upright into a base and attaching connector straps. Another diagram shows attaching connector straps after assembly.

  2. With each base set in the desired location opposite each other, fill the bases with water and seal them each with the Base Fill Cap.

Note: Before filling, ensure the GoSports® logos on the bases are facing inwards towards the pool for maximum stability. Once filled, the bases will be heavy to move.

Diagram Description: Step 2 illustrates filling a base with water and sealing it with a cap. A warning symbol ⚠️ is shown next to the text "Only fill with water".

  3. Spread the net out on the ground across the width of your pool. Use the net Adjustment Straps to adjust the strap length to match your pool width. The straps adjust similarly to backpack straps.

Then, walk both ends of the net to the bases and clip both ends of the net onto the upper and lower straps of the Uprights. Once connected, make final adjustments to get the net taught.

Diagram Description: Step 3 shows the net spread out, with adjustment straps highlighted. It also depicts how the net attaches to the uprights via the connector straps.

  4. Pump up the volleyballs with the included pump. You are now ready to enjoy your Splash Net® PRO!

Splash Net® PRO Care Instructions:

  • Never pull or hang on the net.
  • It's normal for the net to loosen over the course of a game. To tighten, slide the Uprights apart or tighten the Net Connectors Straps.
  • The net should be unhooked and stored inside along with the volleyballs when not in use to prolong their lifespan.
  • The plastics used are UV treated to increase their resistance to fading, but they will eventually fade if left out in direct sunlight. This should not affect gameplay, but to prolong the product's lifespan, we recommend also storing the upright assembly inside if not playing for long periods of time. Ensure the base is drained and all parts are dry before storing.

Pool Volleyball Rules:

The rules of pool volleyball are similar to traditional volleyball and can be adjusted for more recreational play. Teams are typically made up of 2, 4, or 6 players on each side. Depending on swimming experience and pool depth, players can use floatation devices for more comfortable and fun gameplay.

Splash Net® PRO Water Volleyball Gameplay:

  • Decide how many points each set will be played to (11, 15, or 25 points) and which team will begin with the service of the ball.
  • Each set ends when the first team scores the decided amount.
  • Best out of three sets wins (first team to win 2 sets).

Diagram Description: A diagram illustrates a pool court setup with the net. It indicates that the size of the 'court' depends on available space and defines the ball as out of bounds when it hits pool edges or goes outside the pool.

Serving:

  • Use an overhand, sidearm, or underhand serve. The ball must go over the net in bounds to the other team.
  • Serving is normally 8 feet from behind the net, but can vary depending on available pool space.
  • After serving, the ball can only be hit 3 times before it has to cross the net to the opposing side. Consecutive hits by the same player are not allowed.
  • The team that is awarded the point after a rally will then serve.

Scoring:

Points are scored after a rally. Every serve will result in a score regardless of which team is serving. After points are awarded, a new serve begins the next rally.

A single point is scored when the following occurs during the game:

  • When a player from the opposing team hits or crosses the net while the ball is in play.
  • When the ball is in possession of the opposing team and it touches the water.
  • The ball is not returned over the net.
  • The opposing team fails to return service.
  • The ball is hit out of bounds.
  • A player of the opposing team double-hits the ball.
  • The ball is hit at the same time by two players on the same team.
  • A player makes an illegal ball hit such as pushing, carrying, or catching the ball.

The winning team must have a 2-point lead to end the set. If there is only 1 point separating the overall score of both teams, the teams must set an agreed upon total. Then the teams will play a set until one team has a 2-point advantage.
