Safety Information

Important: Please read carefully before use.

These instructions are designed to help you operate the machine safely and efficiently. Read these instructions before using the machine, paying special attention to safety information. These instructions are intended for users with basic technical knowledge. Beginners should seek expert advice.

Keep all documents provided with the machine. Keep your purchase receipt for warranty claims.

Symbols Used:

  • Information: Additional information.
  • Numbered items in illustrations correspond to numbered items in the text or steps.
  • - Bullet points indicate items or steps.

Danger Symbols:

  • ❗ Danger! Risk of injury or environmental damage.
  • ⚡ Danger! Risk of electric shock! Do not touch the plug with wet hands. Always pull the plug, not the cable. Connect only to a properly grounded and tested outlet. Ensure mains voltage and fuse match specifications. A residual current device (RCD) with a maximum capacity of 30 mA must be provided.
  • ⚠️ Warning! Risk of material damage.

3. Types of Applications and Pumped Media

This pump is designed for domestic water pumping, such as:

  • Pumping from containers, sumps, and flooded basements.
  • Supplying garden ponds or artificial streams.
  • Circulation for stagnation prevention.

⚠️ Warning! The maximum permissible liquid temperature is 35°C. Pumping liquids containing abrasives (like sand) reduces the pump's service life.

4. Safety

4.1. Specific Conditions for Use

This pump must not be used for supplying drinking water or pumping foodstuffs.

Do not pump explosive, flammable, or aggressive liquids, or substances hazardous to health, nor waste materials.

This pump is not suitable for commercial or industrial use. Any other use is not intended. Modifications to the machine or parts not approved by the manufacturer may lead to unforeseen damage.

4.2. General Safety Information

Children, adolescents, and persons unfamiliar with these instructions are not permitted to operate the pump.

When used in swimming pools and garden ponds, regulations according to DIN VDE 0100-702, -738 must be observed. Local regulations for safe operation of submersible pumps must also be followed.

When working with submersible pumps, there are inherent residual risks that cannot be fully eliminated even with safety devices:

  • ❗ Danger from surroundings! Do not use the pump in hazardous areas or near flammable liquids and gases!
  • ⚡ Danger of electric shock! Do not touch the plug with wet hands! Always pull the plug, not the cable. Connect only to a properly grounded and tested outlet. Ensure mains voltage and fuse match specifications. A residual current device (RCD) with a maximum capacity of 30 mA must be provided.

Before Operation

5. Before Starting Work

5.1. Connecting the Discharge Hose

The discharge hose is connected directly to the outlet (10) or via the multi-adapter (11). Secure the hose with clamps if necessary.

The check valve cap (12) must open in the direction indicated by the arrow. The marking "UP" should face the multi-adapter.

Diagram showing hose connection to outlet and multi-adapter.

Note: When using the multi-adapter, cut off any unnecessary parts as they unnecessarily reduce the flow.

5.2. Installation

Approximate required space: 20cm x 20cm.

The pump must not be submerged deeper than specified in the "Technical Specifications".

Position the pump so that the inlet is not blocked by foreign objects (use a base if necessary). Ensure sufficient vertical stability.

⚠️ Warning! Do not lift the pump by the cable or hose; neither is designed to bear the pump's weight. Lower the pump to the bottom of the container using a sturdy rope attached to the carrying handle/hanger. The pump can also be hung by a rope.

Air trapped in the pump can escape through vents when the pump is tilted. This causes air bubbles. This is not a pump defect but an effect of automatic venting.

When using the pump for the first time, it may take a few seconds for the air to escape.

Connect the cable to start the submersible pump. Pull the cable to stop the pump.

Operation

6. Operation

Set the operating mode using the mode selector (13):

  • A = Automatic mode
  • M = Manual mode

6.1. Automatic Mode

In automatic mode, the submersible pump switches on and off automatically via the integrated float switch.

  • The pump starts pumping when the float switch rises to the initial level (14).
  • The pump stops when the float switch drops below the lowest level (15).

⚠️ Warning! The float switch must be able to move freely so that the pump cannot operate without liquid.

6.2. Manual Mode

Start: Push the mode selector (13) up to position M. The pump starts pumping.

⚠️ Warning! Do not leave the pump running in manual mode without supervision. There is a risk of damage if the pump operates at low liquid levels.

Stop: Contrary to automatic operation, the pump does not stop when a certain level is reached. Push the mode selector (13) down to position A. The pump stops when the float switch reaches the lowest level.

Maintenance and Care

7. Maintenance and Care

❗ Danger! Before any maintenance: Disconnect power. Unplug the cable.

Other maintenance and care, apart from what is described here, must be performed by qualified specialists.

7.1. Periodic Maintenance

To ensure the pump operates perfectly at all times, periodic maintenance is necessary. This also applies if the pump is used under heavy conditions but not for extended periods (e.g., when used for well drainage).

Annual Maintenance:

  1. Check the pump housing, cables, and float switch for damage.
  2. Rinse the pump with clean water. Remove dirt, e.g., algae, with a brush and dish soap.
  3. To rinse the pump internally, place it in a container filled with clean water and run it briefly.

Rinsing the Pump: Always rinse the pump with clean water after pumping liquids that leave residues, such as chlorinated water from a swimming pool.

Cleaning the Float Switch:

  1. Push the mode selector (16) to position "O", then press and hold the selector to open the float cover (17). Remove the float cover.
  2. Detach the float (18) along with the shaft (19) and clean them.
  3. Clean the walls and base of the float compartment.
  4. Reassemble the pump.

Cleaning the Inlet Cover:

  1. Loosen the bolts (20) and remove the cover.
  2. Clean the piston and all accessible internal surfaces of the housing. Remove any fibers that may have accumulated around the piston.
  3. Clean with a brush and dish soap.
  4. Reassemble the pump.

7.2. Storing the Pump

⚠️ Warning! Freezing damages the pump and its accessories because water is present in both ice and the pump. If there is a risk of freezing, remove the pump and accessories and store them in a place where they will not freeze.

Troubleshooting

8. Troubleshooting

❗ Danger! Before any maintenance: Disconnect power. Unplug the cable.

8.1. Identifying Faults

  • No voltage: Check cables, plug, fuse. Low mains voltage.
  • Engine overheated: Remove the cause (e.g., excessively hot pumped liquid, pump blocked by foreign objects?). The pump will restart after cooling down.
  • Float switch does not activate the pump: Ensure there is sufficient water. Ensure the float switch can move freely.
  • Engine hums but does not start: Pump is blocked by a foreign object. Clean the pump.
  • Pump is not pumping properly: Delivery head is too high. Observe the maximum delivery head (see "Technical Specifications"). Hose is kinked. Straighten the hose. Kinked hose leaks. Seal the hose, tighten the fittings.
  • Pump is noisy: Pump is drawing air. Ensure sufficient water. Adjust the float switch correctly. Tilt the pump when submerging it.
  • Pump runs continuously: Float switch does not reach the lowest position. Ensure it can move freely. Switch to manual mode. Disconnect from mains.

9. Repairs

❗ Danger! Electrical component repairs must only be carried out by specialists. Electrical components requiring repair can be sent to the service center in your country. See the spare parts list for addresses. Please attach a description of the fault to the electrical device.

10. Environmental Protection

The pump's packaging can be 100% recycled. Worn parts and accessories contain large amounts of valuable raw materials and plastics that can be recycled. These instructions are printed on paper produced using a chlorine-free process.
