Important Information

Battery

When the first signs of low power appear (faint display or no backlight), the battery must be replaced by an authorized CASIO dealer or distributor. The battery included with your watch is for testing purposes and its service life may be shorter than standard.

Water Resistance

Watches are classified by water resistance levels (from Level I to V) according to their protection against water. Refer to the table below to determine the correct usage for your watch.

Notes:

  • Level I: The watch is not water-resistant. Avoid any contact with moisture.
  • Level III: Do not press buttons underwater.
  • Level IV: Buttons can be pressed once underwater without re-pressing. If the watch is exposed to saltwater, rinse it thoroughly and dry it.
  • Level V: The watch can be used for scuba diving (except for depths requiring helium-oxygen gas mixtures).
  • Some water-resistant watches have leather straps. Do not wear these models while swimming or engaging in any activity where the strap may become wet.

Watch Care

This watch is designed for use in very demanding conditions. Special shock-absorbing gaskets are used on both the internal and external surfaces of the watch case to ensure high impact and vibration resistance.

Impact Resistance: The watch can be worn on the wrist during any active sports. (Be careful not to strike the watch crystal with hard objects).

Vibration Resistance: The watch can be worn during motorcycle racing, while operating a chain saw, drilling stone, etc.

Never attempt to open the watch case or remove the back cover. The rubber gasket that protects the watch from moisture and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years. If moisture enters the watch, have it checked immediately by an authorized CASIO dealer or distributor. Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures. Do not fasten the strap too tightly. You should be able to fit a finger between your wrist and the strap. To clean the watch and strap, use a dry soft cloth, or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile substances (e.g., gasoline, solvents, spray cleaners, etc.). When not in use, store the watch in a dry place. Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions caused by these materials will damage gaskets, the case, and the finish of the watch. Some watches have silk-screened designs on their straps. Be careful when cleaning such straps to avoid damaging the designs. For watches with plastic straps: You may notice a white powdery substance on the strap. This substance is harmless to your skin or clothing and can be easily removed by wiping with a cloth. Exposure of plastic straps to sweat or moisture, or storage in high humidity conditions, can lead to damage, tearing, or cracking of the strap. To ensure a long service life for the plastic strap, wipe it clean of dirt and water with a soft cloth whenever possible. For watches with fluorescent cases and straps: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade. Prolonged contact with moisture can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade. If any moisture gets onto the watch surface, wipe it off as soon as possible. Prolonged contact with any other wet surface may cause the fluorescent color to fade. Ensure the fluorescent surface is dry and avoid contact with other surfaces. Strong friction of a surface with fluorescent paint against another surface may cause the fluorescent paint to transfer to that surface. CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur from the use of this watch, nor does it accept claims from third parties.

If you press button [E] when the seconds are between "30" and "59", the minutes will be incremented by one when the seconds are reset to "00". If the seconds are between "00" and "29", the minutes will remain unchanged.

4. When digits in any other position (except seconds) are flashing, press button [E] to increase the value or button [B] to decrease it. Holding down either button allows for faster setting.

Backlight

If the backlight function is enabled, the watch display will flash and illuminate when alarms, timers, stopwatches, hourly chimes, and other audible signals are activated. For detailed instructions on each operation, refer to the relevant sections of this manual.

This watch uses an electro-luminescent light source, which loses its luminosity over extended periods of use.

How to Turn Backlight Function On/Off

Press and hold button [B] in Current Time Mode for one or two seconds to turn the backlight function on or off.

Alarm Mode

If the alarm is set, it will sound daily at the specified time for 20 seconds. Press any button to stop the alarm when it sounds. If the hourly chime is set, it will sound at the top of every hour.

How to Set Alarm Time

1. Press and hold button [A] in Alarm Mode until the hour digits on the display start flashing. Flashing hour digits indicate that they can be changed. The alarm setting is automatically turned on.

2. Press button [C] to cycle through the digits to be changed: Hours, Minutes.

3. Press button [E] to increase the flashing digits, or button [B] to decrease them. Holding down either button allows for faster setting.

The alarm time format (12-hour or 24-hour) matches the format set in Current Time Mode. Be careful to correctly set AM/PM if using the 12-hour format.

4. After setting the alarm time, press button [A] to return to Alarm Mode.

How to Turn Alarm and Hourly Chime Settings On/Off

Press button [B] in Alarm Mode to cycle through the alarm and hourly chime settings as follows:

Alarm SettingHourly Chime SettingResult

Pressing button [D] in any mode illuminates the display for approximately three seconds, regardless of whether the backlight function is enabled. The watch emits a sound when the display is illuminated. This sound is caused by the transistor vibrating during the electro-luminescent panel's illumination and is normal, not an indication of malfunction.

How to Check Alarm Sound

Press and hold button [E] in Alarm Mode to sound the alarm.

Timer Mode

The countdown timer can be set from 1 second to 60 minutes. When the timer reaches zero, an alarm will sound for 10 seconds unless any button is pressed.
