Information for setting up and using your Cobra RAD 480i Connected Radar and Laser Detector.

Mounting Options
Dashboard Mounting Option
Step 1: Attach Hook & Loop to Detector
Apply the adhesive hook and loop strips to the bottom of the detector unit.
Step 2: Attach Detector to Dashboard Surface
Place the detector onto the desired dashboard surface, pressing firmly to secure it with the hook and loop strips.
Step 3: Connect Detector to 12V Power Source
Plug the 12V power cord into the detector and then into your vehicle's 12V accessory outlet (cigarette lighter socket).
Windshield Mounting Option
Step 1: Assemble Suction Cup Bracket
Attach the suction cup to the mounting bracket arm.
Step 2: Adjust Suction Cup Bracket
Position the bracket arm so the RAD 480i will be level with the road when mounted.
Step 3: Attach Suction Cup Bracket to Windshield
Press the suction cup firmly onto the inside of the windshield.
Step 4: Attach RAD 480i to Suction Cup Bracket
Slide the RAD 480i unit onto the mounted bracket.
Step 5: Connect Detector to 12V Power Source
Plug the 12V power cord into the detector and then into your vehicle's 12V accessory outlet (cigarette lighter socket).
Connecting to Your Smartphone via Bluetooth®
Step 1: Power on the RAD 480i.
Step 2: Download and install the Drive Smarter® app on your smartphone.
Available on the App Store and Google Play.
Step 3: Add New Device
After registering your account in the Drive Smarter® app, navigate to the Account section, press "Add New Device", and follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: The first time you run the app, you will be prompted to register a new account.

Troubleshooting Tips
If your unit is not operating properly, please follow these troubleshooting steps:
- Ensure the power cord is properly connected to your RAD 480i.
- Verify that your vehicle's cigarette lighter or 12V accessory port socket is clean and free of corrosion.
- Confirm the power cord's adapter is firmly seated in the vehicle's socket and the power indicator light [power-indicator-light] is illuminated.
