CPU Socket Area

Central to the board is the LGA2011-3 CPU socket. Proper CPU installation requires aligning specific points on the CPU with the socket, including a golden triangle indicating Pin 1.

Memory Slots (RAM)

There are 8 DIMM slots arranged around the CPU socket, typically in pairs, supporting Quad-Channel memory. These are usually color-coded or grouped for dual/quad channel configuration.

Expansion Slots

2-7 CPU Installation

To properly place the CPU (LGA2011-3 socket), align the CPU's starting points and golden triangle with the corresponding indicators on the socket. The golden triangle indicates Pin 1.

2-8 M.2 Interface Installation

Steps for installing an M.2 module:

  1. Remove the screw from the screw base.
  2. Remove the screw base.
  3. Tighten the screw base into the M.2 interface distance hole.
  4. Insert the M.2 module into the M.2 interface at a 30-degree angle.
  5. Place the screw on the trailing edge notch of the M.2 module and tighten it to the screw base.

2-9 Memory Installation

Steps for installing RAM modules:

  1. Pull the clips on both ends of the memory slot outward.
  2. Align the memory module with the slot, ensuring the notch corresponds to the slot's protrusion, and press down.
  3. The clips on both ends of the slot will automatically snap into place.

2-10 Graphics Card Installation

Steps for installing a graphics card:

  1. Use a screwdriver to remove the bezel and screws from the computer case.
  2. Open the retention clip on the PCIe slot.
  3. Insert the graphics card firmly into the PCIe slot.
  4. Once seated, the retention clip will automatically close.
  5. Secure the graphics card to the chassis with screws.
  6. Connect the necessary power cables.

2. Intel Chip Information Installation

Run "Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager". Right-click the hardware device and proceed with the installation. Select "Update driver", "Not connect to Internet", and "Manually installation". Find the corresponding directory and select "Next step".

3. Audio Driver Installation

Before installing, identify your motherboard's audio chip model. Select the appropriate driver for installation.

3.1 Audio Driver Installation (HD Audio Series Example)

Run the driver installer: /X99-CH8Audio DRIVER/0003-64bit_Win7_Win8_Win81_R276.exe. Click "next" to continue, then "finished". The system will automatically restart to complete the installation.

3.2 Uninstallation of Audio Driver (HD Audio Series Example)

In Windows, go to "Settings" / "Control Panel", then "Add/Remove Programs". Find "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver" and click "Add/Remove" to uninstall.

4. External Video Card Driver Installation

Run the driver installer (e.g., Setup.exe). Click "next" and "yes".

5. Network Driver Installation

Run the driver installer (e.g., X99-CH8 LAN DRIVER/WIN7 XP). Click "next", "installation", "finished", and restart the computer. The system will automatically search for devices to complete the installation.

BIOS Settings ?️

To ensure the computer functions correctly, CMOS SETUP stores system data in the motherboard's CMOS SRAM. This data is maintained by the motherboard battery when the power is off. To enter the AMI BIOS CMOS SETUP main page, press the “Delete/Del” key during POST (Power On Self Test). The warm boot key is “F11”.

Menu Navigation: Pay attention to each option. A triangle symbol (▶️) on the left indicates a sub-menu will pop up when selected.
