2. Evaluation Method
According to 447498 D01 General RF Exposure Guidance v05, the 1-g and 10-g SAR test exclusion thresholds for frequencies from 100 MHz to 6 GHz at test separation distances less than or equal to 50 mm are determined by the following formula:
[(max. power of channel, including tune-up tolerance, mW) / (min. test separation distance, mm)] * sqrt[f(GHz)] ≤ 3.0 for 1-g SAR and ≤ 7.5 for 10-g extremity SAR.
Where f(GHz) is the RF channel transmit frequency in GHz. Power and distance are rounded to the nearest mW and mm before calculation.
3. Calculation
BR/EDR:
A spectrum analyzer screenshot shows RF signal characteristics. The key parameters observed are:
- Center Frequency: 2.480000000 GHz
- Resolution Bandwidth (RBW): 1.0 MHz
- Video Bandwidth (VBW): 1.0 MHz
- Sweep Time: 16.00 ms
- Peak Power (Mkr3): 10.80 dBm at 4.051 ms
The duty cycle was calculated as (3.167 ms - 0.301 ms) / (4.051 ms - 0.301 ms) * 100% = 76.43%.
The average power (Ptavg) was calculated as 10.725 dBm * 76.43% = 8.20 dBm, which is equivalent to 6.61 mW.
The maximum output power (Pt) for BR/EDR is referred to the test report of the CFR47 §15.247.
The RF exposure evaluation result for BR/EDR is SAR = (6.61 mW / 5 mm) * sqrt[2.480 GHz] = 1.91, which is less than 3.0 for 1-g SAR and less than 7.5 for 10-g extremity SAR.
BLE:
The maximum output power (Pt) for BLE is 5.451 dBm, which is equivalent to 3.51 mW.
The value of the Maximum output power Pt is referred to the test report of the CFR47 §15.247.
The RF exposure evaluation result for BLE is SAR = (3.51 mW / 5 mm) * sqrt[2.480 GHz] = 1.10, which is less than 3.0 for 1-g SAR and less than 7.5 for 10-g extremity SAR.
4. Conclusion
The SAR evaluation is not required.
