Product Overview
The Behringer TRUTH 3.5/4.5 and TRUTH 3.5 BT/4.5 BT are audiophile studio monitors featuring Advanced Waveguide Technology. The BT models offer Bluetooth connectivity for wireless audio streaming.
Safety Instructions
General Safety Precautions:
- Read all instructions before use.
- Keep these instructions for future reference.
- Heed all warnings and follow all instructions.
- Do not use this apparatus near water.
- Clean only with a dry cloth.
- Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
- Do not install near any heat sources.
- Do not defeat the safety purpose of polarized or grounding-type plugs.
- Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched.
- Use only attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
- Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus.
- Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
- Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
- Connect to a MAINS socket outlet with a protective earthing connection.
- Where the MAINS plug or an appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, it shall remain readily operable.
- Correct disposal of this product: Do not dispose of with household waste. Take to a collection center licensed for recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (EEE).
- Do not install in a confined space.
- Do not place naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, on the apparatus.
- Keep environmental aspects of battery disposal in mind.
- This apparatus may be used in tropical and moderate climates up to 45°C.
Electrical Safety:
- Terminals marked with a symbol carry electrical current of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock.
- This symbol alerts you to the presence of uninsulated dangerous voltage inside the enclosure.
- Do not remove the top cover or rear section. No user-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified personnel.
Controls and Operation
Master Speaker Controls:
- DOME TWEETER
- WOOFER
- VOLUME: Knob controls the final output volume.
- AUX IN: Input accepts audio signals over a cable with 1/8" TRS stereo connectors.
- PHONES Output: Allows connection of headphones with 1/8" TRS stereo connectors.
- POWER: Button turns the speaker on and off.
- BASS PORT
- SPRING CLIPS: Connects the Slave speaker to the Master speaker using speaker wire.
- ACOUSTIC TUNING: Adjusts high (HIGH knob) and low (LOW knob) audio frequencies to suit your acoustic space.
- INPUTS: Allow connection of audio sources using balanced 1/4" TRS connectors or line-level RCA plugs.
- PAIR: Button activates Bluetooth pairing for wireless audio streaming.
- OUTPUT TO SPEAKER: Connections allow running speaker wire to the Slave speaker for the Right stereo channel.
- Power Socket: Standard power socket for mains connection.
Speaker Placement and Setup
Positioning:
These monitors are designed as near-field monitors, typically placed 0.75 to 3 meters from the listener. For best results, position them at ear height, angled towards the listener, and at equal distances from the listening position.
Setup:
- Place monitor speakers at head level, unobstructed, and at equal distances to the left and right of your listening position.
- Connect the included power cable to the left (Master) monitor speaker. Do not turn on the power yet.
- Run speaker wire from the Master speaker's OUTPUT TO SPEAKER terminals to the Slave speaker's SPRING CLIPS terminals. The Master speaker handles the Left channel, and the Slave speaker handles the Right channel.
- Connect your audio source (mixer, recording interface, etc.) to the INPUTS section on the Master speaker. Use balanced 1/4" TRS connectors or RCA plugs.
- If using an auxiliary source (tablet, smartphone), connect it to the front-panel AUX IN using stereo cables with a 1/8" TRS stereo plug.
- If using headphones, plug them into the front-panel PHONES connection.
- Set the VOLUME knob to the far-left (counter-clockwise) position.
- Set the HIGH and LOW knobs in the ACOUSTIC TUNING section to the center position.
- Turn on your audio source (mixer, interface, etc.).
- Power on the speakers by pressing the POWER switch on the Master speaker.
- To use Bluetooth, press the PAIR button and select the TRUTH speakers from your device's Bluetooth menu.
- While playing audio, slowly turn the VOLUME knob clockwise to your desired level.
- Adjust the HIGH and LOW knobs to fine-tune the bass and treble frequencies for your listening space.
