Hook-up and Connections

Follow these steps to connect your speakers:

  1. Speaker Placement: Place the monitor speakers at head level, unobstructed, and at equal distances to the left and right of your listening position, forming an equilateral triangle.
  2. Power Connection: Connect the included power cable to the right monitor's POWER SOURCE socket. Then, connect the other end to a mains outlet. It is recommended to connect the right monitor and other audio equipment to the same outlet to avoid ground loops. Do not turn the power on yet.
  3. Audio Source Connection:
    • Connect your audio source (mixer, computer, etc.) to the INPUT jacks on the right monitor. Balanced XLR or 1/4" TRS connections are preferred if available.
    • For computer audio, connect a USB Type-B cable from your computer to the USB CONNECTOR on the monitor.
  4. Speaker Linking: Connect the included speaker cable from the right monitor's SPEAKER OUTPUT connector to the left monitor's SPEAKER INPUT connector. The right monitor houses amplifiers that power both speakers.

  2. Power & Source Connection: Connect the power cable to the right monitor and then to the wall outlet. Connect your audio source (mixer, computer) to the right monitor's inputs. Ensure all equipment is connected to the same outlet if possible.
  3. Initial Volume Settings:
    • MEDIA 40USB: Turn the front VOLUME knob to the fully-down position (minimum).
    • STUDIO 50USB: Turn the rear INPUT TRIM knob to the center (0 dB) position.
  4. Power On Source: Turn on your mixer, computer, or other audio source device. Ensure its volume is turned down.
  5. Power On Monitors: Turn on the right monitor using the rear POWER SWITCH. The LED indicator will light up.
  6. Audio Playback: Start playing your audio source. Slowly increase the volume on your source device and then adjust the MEDIA 40USB VOLUME knob or the STUDIO 50USB INPUT TRIM knob (if needed) until you reach a comfortable listening level.
