1. Introduction
Benefits of using ATS
- Makes installation easier - connect all household loads to the sub-panel for essential items, excluding specific ones.
How It Works
Implementation principle: After the power grid is lost, the sub-distribution box is automatically switched to the off-grid output end of the inverter; after the power grid is restored, the sub-distribution box is automatically switched to the grid end, and the entire implementation process is automatically controlled by software.
Sub-distribution boxes can also be connected to micro-inverter equipment to realize off-grid micro-inverter applications.
Electrical Related Changes with ATS Introduction
EP800 Changes
- When stand-alone: new ATS conversion box, new EMS control box, new CT equipment and some wiring, etc.
- Parallel machine: add ATS converter box, add EMS control box, add electric meter and some wiring, etc.
Power Distribution with EP800 ATS
- When EP800 use ATS, there are no significant differences in power distribution.
Enabling ATS Application
- To use the ATS application, you need to issue the ATS enable command to the inverter through the APP.
2. Electrical Diagram
Diagram Description
The electrical diagram illustrates the connection points for the EP800 Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS). It shows the integration of the ATS conversion box, EMS control box, and CT equipment. The diagram details how the grid power, inverter output, and household loads (specifically essential items connected via a sub-panel) are interconnected. It depicts the flow of power from the utility grid to the ATS, and from the EP800 inverter to the ATS, with the ATS switching between these sources to supply the connected loads. Specific wiring terminals and connections for the ATS, EMS, and CT sensors are indicated, showing their roles in monitoring and controlling power transfer.
3. Procedures
Step 1: Wiring
Connect the cables according to the electrical diagram.
Step 2: Power On
Press and hold the battery power button to activate the energy storage system. Refer to the product's user manual and related materials for detailed instructions.
Step 3: ATS Configuration
Access the Pro Mode page in the app and enable the ATS. Refer to the product's app user manual for detailed instructions.
Step 4: Initiate
Turn on the "System Switch" to enable the ATS via the app.
4. Precaution
ATS Selection
Select the compatible ATS based on the household needs.
5. Accessories
5.1 Transfer Switch
The transfer switch is used for maintenance of the ESS. If any issues happened on the ESS, it can be switched to the utility grid side to keep power on for the backup loads.
Automatic transfer panel - for partial home backup system which is existing sub panel.
