Over-The-Air Updates & How to Play Using a Computer

Over-The-Air Updates

Note: Please update the Redtiger App to the latest version to use this function.

  1. To perform an over-the-air update, disconnect your phone from the dash cam's Wi-Fi network. Connect your phone to a LAN (not the dash cam's Wi-Fi) for 5 seconds, then disconnect. Reconnect to the dash cam's Wi-Fi network.
  2. Once Wi-Fi connection is successful, open the Redtiger App. If new software is detected, the App page will indicate the availability of an update.
  3. To perform the update, click on "Upgrade Now". The Redtiger app will prompt you to download the update package.
  4. Connect the dash cam to send the update package. Do not power off the dash cam during the upgrade process. Once the upgrade is completed, the app will display the upgrade success message, and the dash cam will automatically restart.

How to Play Using a Computer

REDTIGER recommends using the REDTIGER Player as the video player for watching recordings and viewing Google Maps. You can download it for free on Mac or Windows from: https://www.redtigercam.com/pages/gps-player. Within the player, you can choose different playback modes, set playback speed, language, and map display.

REDTIGER Player Interface

The REDTIGER Player interface displays video playback and associated data:

Note: If front and rear road tracks are recorded synchronously, they can be played separately in split screens. To play a file, drag it from the playlist to the video play window.

Installation

⚠️ WARNING: Please make sure to connect all cameras and wires before powering on the camera screen, otherwise the camera will not work properly. Please follow the instructions below for the first-time installation of the REDTIGER dash cam. Scan the QR code on the right to view the installation tutorial video.

Insert Memory Card

Insert the memory card into the dash cam, ensuring that the gold contacts are facing towards the screen of the dash cam. Push the memory card until it clicks into the slot.

Front Camera Installation

Peel off the electrostatic sticker from its protective film and transfer it to the desired mounting location on the windshield. Attach the front camera to the electrostatic sticker and firmly press to secure it.

Diagram: Illustrates applying an electrostatic sticker to the inside of a car windshield and then mounting the dash cam unit onto the sticker.

Mount The Rear Camera

  1. Open the trunk of the vehicle, remove the screws, and then remove the plastic panel.
  2. Pry open the license plate light housing and pass the rear camera cable through the hole where the license plate light is located.

Note: This rear camera is designed to tolerate various environmental conditions and is best suited for external installation. Lens parameters are optimized for outdoor use. It is recommended to install the camera on top of the license plate frame. If this is not feasible, a license plate frame bracket is available.

Wire Layout In The Vehicle

  1. Connect the car charger to the vehicle's cigar socket (12/24V DC outlet).
  2. Connect the other end of the car charger's cable to the dash cam's power port.
  3. Use the provided tool (e.g., crowbar) to run the power cable along the front windshield and the roof, then hide the cable down the A-pillar, ensuring it does not block the driver's sight.
  4. Connect the interface of the rear camera cable with the interface of the rear cam cable.
  5. Hide the rear cam cable along the gaps between the front windshield and the ceiling, along the car body and ceiling on the side of the passenger seat, and between the rear seats and the ceiling.
