This document provides essential information for the quick installation and setup of the Sungrow SG2.0-6.0RS series single-phase PV grid-connected inverters.
Important Safety Information ⚠️
Before proceeding with installation, it is crucial to read and understand all safety instructions. Failure to comply may result in electric shock, equipment damage, or personal injury.
- Installation must be performed by qualified personnel only.
- Ensure all local electrical codes and regulations are followed.
- Disconnect all power sources before performing any wiring or maintenance.
- The inverter generates hazardous voltages. Do not touch internal components.
- Ensure proper grounding of the inverter and the entire PV system.
- Keep the installation area clean, dry, and well-ventilated.
- Do not install the inverter in direct sunlight or near flammable materials.
Unpacking and Inspection ?
Carefully unpack the inverter and check for any signs of damage that may have occurred during shipping.
- Verify that the product model and specifications match your order.
- Inspect the inverter casing, connectors, and accessories for any physical damage.
- If any damage or missing parts are found, contact the supplier immediately.
Installation Steps ?️
Follow these steps for mounting and connecting the inverter.
Choose an Installation Location
Select a suitable location that meets the following criteria:
- Well-ventilated, protected from direct sunlight and rain.
- Ambient temperature within the operating range (refer to datasheet).
- Accessible for maintenance.
- Sufficient space around the inverter for heat dissipation and cable connections.
Mount the Inverter
Use the provided mounting bracket and hardware to securely mount the inverter on a solid vertical surface. Ensure the inverter is oriented correctly as per the manual's diagrams (typically upright).
Note: The inverter is heavy. Use appropriate lifting equipment if necessary.
Connect DC Input (PV Array)
Connect the DC cables from the solar PV array to the inverter's DC input terminals. Ensure correct polarity (+ and -) is observed. Use appropriate connectors (e.g., MC4) and ensure they are securely fastened.
Warning: Incorrect DC polarity can damage the inverter.
Connect AC Output
Connect the AC output cables from the inverter to the AC grid connection point via a suitable circuit breaker. Ensure the AC voltage and frequency match the grid requirements.
Note: An AC disconnect switch or circuit breaker is required for safety and maintenance.
Connect Grounding
Connect the grounding terminal on the inverter to the system ground. This is a critical safety step.
Install WiFi Dongle (Optional)
If your model includes a WiFi dongle, install it in the designated port on the inverter. This allows for remote monitoring via the Sungrow monitoring platform.
Note: Refer to the WiFi dongle's specific installation guide for details.
Initial Startup and Commissioning ▶️
After all connections are verified and secure, you can proceed with the initial startup.
- Ensure the AC circuit breaker is OFF.
- Ensure the DC disconnect (if applicable) is OFF.
- Turn ON the AC circuit breaker. The inverter should power up and perform self-checks.
- Once the grid is detected and stable, turn ON the DC disconnect (if applicable). The inverter will begin converting DC power to AC power and feeding it to the grid.
- Monitor the inverter's display or the monitoring app for operational status and any error codes.
Note: Commissioning procedures may vary. Consult the full user manual for detailed instructions.
