Product Overview

The GE Deluxe Door Alarm is a keypad-controlled security device designed to alert you when a door is opened. It features a low battery indicator and can operate in either an alarm mode or a chime mode.

Important Note: Do not use in wet locations.

Low Battery Indicator

The alarm unit is equipped with a low battery circuit. When the batteries are running low, the indicator light will flash slowly. Under typical usage, the batteries have an average life of up to one year.

Installing Batteries

The keypad-controlled door alarm requires three (3) AAA Alkaline batteries, which are not included.

1. Remove the screw from the battery compartment door located on the back of the unit. Slide the door off in the direction indicated by the arrow.
2. Insert three (3) AAA batteries, observing the polarity diagram inside the battery compartment.
3. Replace the door and secure it with the screw.

Creating Your Personal Alarm Code

You can set a personal 4-digit code to arm and disarm the alarm using the keypad.

1. Remove the screw from the battery compartment door on the back of the unit and slide the door off.
2. Press the LEARN button.
3. The red indicator light on the front of the alarm will blink for 15 seconds. During this time, input your desired 4-digit code. A beep will confirm each digit entered. The unit will flash a green light three times to confirm the new code has been saved.
4. Replace the cover and secure the screw.

Installation

Choose a suitable location for the alarm. The alarm can be mounted to the door frame or the door itself. You can use the provided screws for permanent mounting or double-sided tape for temporary mounting. It is recommended to mount the alarm on the back of the door and the magnet on the door frame to prevent damage to the alarm when opening and closing the door.

Note that the magnet can be mounted on either side of the alarm, as long as the arrows align.

IMPORTANT: Ensure the gap between the alarm and the magnet is 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) or less, whether mounting to the door or the door frame.

1. Attach the mounting plate to the back of the alarm. Peel the protective covering from one side of the double-sided tape and apply it to the mounting plate. Remove the protective covering from the other side of the tape and lightly mount the alarm in the desired position. Ensure the mounting surface is clean and dry. For best results, clean the surface with a 50% isopropyl alcohol and 50% water mixture.

Do not apply firm pressure until the location is finalized.

NOTE: When mounting to a door frame, the mounting plate may need to be positioned off-center (left or right) to place the alarm closest to the door's edge.

3. Using double-sided tape, lightly attach the magnet to the door frame or door edge next to the alarm. Align the arrows on the alarm and the magnet. Ensure the gap between them is 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) or less. To test the gap, slide the ALARM/CHIME switch to CHIME and open the door. If the chime sounds, the gap is correct. If not, move the alarm or magnet closer to achieve a gap of 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) or less.
4. Once the correct positioning is confirmed, lift the alarm off the mounting plate and apply firm pressure to the plate itself to secure it. Reattach the alarm to the mounting plate.
5. Apply firm pressure to the magnet to secure its position as well.

Operating in Alarm Mode

1. Locate the ALARM/CHIME switch on the right side of the alarm unit.
2. Slide the switch to the ALARM position.
3. Select either HOME or AWAY mode on the left side of the alarm unit.

HOME Mode

In HOME mode, the alarm will sound if the gap between the alarm and the magnet exceeds 1/2 inch (1.27 cm), indicating the door has been opened.

AWAY Mode

In AWAY mode, there is a 45-second exit delay before the unit arms. The alarm's indicator light will flash red rapidly, signaling the unit is activated and the countdown has begun. This delay allows you to leave the protected area without triggering the alarm. Upon returning, a 30-second entry delay allows you to enter your 4-digit code before the alarm sounds.

Arming the Alarm:

1. Arm the alarm by entering your 4-digit code. A single green light flash confirms correct entry. NOTE: An incorrect code entry will result in a higher tone and three red flashes.

Disarming the Alarm:

1. Enter your 4-digit code to disarm the alarm. Upon entering the fourth digit, the unit will emit two tones and flash a green light twice.

2. Enter the correct code at any time after the alarm has sounded to deactivate it. NOTE: During testing, cover the alarm with a cloth to reduce the risk of hearing damage.

Incorrect Code

If an incorrect code is entered, the unit will emit a louder beep and flash red three times. Re-enter the correct code after the light stops flashing.

Operating in Chime Mode

1. Locate the ALARM/CHIME switch on the right side of the unit.
2. Slide the switch to the CHIME position.

Activating the Chime:

The chime will sound immediately when the gap between the alarm and magnet exceeds 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) (i.e., when the door is opened).

Deactivating the Chime:

To deactivate the chime, slide the ALARM/CHIME switch back to the ALARM position.

Care and Maintenance

To clean the alarm housing, use a soft cloth slightly dampened with water and then wipe dry. Do not use chemical agents, as they may damage or discolor the unit.

Battery Warning

• Remove batteries before storing the alarm for extended periods.
• Batteries may leak harmful liquids or ignitable materials or explode, causing injury and product damage.
• Do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types.
• Replace all batteries at the same time.
• Replace fully discharged batteries immediately.

Cómo instalar las baterías

Cómo crear su código personal para la alarma

Instalación

Elija la ubicación deseada para la alarma. La alarma está diseñada para ser montada en el marco de la puerta o en la puerta misma. Puede usar los tornillos suministrados (para montaje permanente) o la cinta de doble cara (para montaje temporal). Se recomienda montar la alarma en la parte posterior de la puerta y el imán en el marco de la puerta para evitar daños a la alarma al abrir y cerrar la puerta.

3. Con la cinta de doble cara, fije suavemente el imán al marco o borde de la puerta junto a la alarma. Alinee las flechas de la alarma y del imán. Asegúrese de que la distancia entre ellos sea de 1/2 pulgada (1.27 cm) o menos. Para probar la distancia, deslice el interruptor ALARMA/CAMPANA a la posición CAMPANA y abra la puerta. Si la campana suena, la distancia es correcta. Si no, acerque la alarma o el imán para lograr una distancia de 1/2 pulgada (1.27 cm) o menos.
4. Una vez confirmada la posición correcta, retire la alarma de la placa de montaje y aplique presión firme a la placa para asegurarla. Vuelva a colocar la alarma en la placa de montaje.
5. Aplique presión firme al imán para asegurar también su posición.

Cómo operar el modo de alarma

1. Localice el interruptor ALARMA/CAMPANA en el lado derecho de la unidad de alarma.
2. Deslice el interruptor a la posición ALARMA.
3. Seleccione el modo EN CASA o FUERA DE CASA en el lado izquierdo de la unidad de alarma.

Modalidad EN CASA

En el modo EN CASA, la alarma sonará si la distancia entre la alarma y el imán excede 1/2 pulgada (1.27 cm), lo que indica que la puerta ha sido abierta.

Modalidad FUERA DE CASA

En el modo FUERA DE CASA, habrá un retraso de salida de 45 segundos antes de que la unidad se active. La luz indicadora roja de la alarma parpadeará rápidamente, señalando que la unidad está activada y la cuenta regresiva ha comenzado. Este retraso le permite salir del área protegida sin activar la alarma. Al regresar, un retraso de entrada de 30 segundos le permite ingresar su código de 4 dígitos antes de que suene la alarma.

Cómo activar la alarma:

1. Active la alarma ingresando su código de 4 dígitos. Un solo destello verde confirma la entrada correcta. NOTA: Una entrada de código incorrecta resultará en un tono más alto y tres destellos rojos.

Cómo desactivar la alarma:

1. Ingrese su código de 4 dígitos para desactivar la alarma. Al ingresar el cuarto dígito, la unidad emitirá dos tonos y parpadeará dos veces en verde.

2. Ingrese el código correcto en cualquier momento después de que la alarma haya sonado para desactivarla. NOTA: Durante las pruebas, cubra la alarma con un paño para reducir el riesgo de daño auditivo.

Código incorrecto
