Precautions Before Use
These instruments comply with IEC 61010-2-032 for voltages and installations below 6500 ft (2000 m) and are rated for 600 V CAT IV installations with pollution degree 2. Failure to observe safety instructions may result in electric shock, fire, explosion, or damage.
- Operators must read and understand all precautions before use.
- The instrument requires knowledge of electrical hazards.
- Observe conditions of use: temperature, humidity, altitude, pollution, location.
- Do not use if damaged, incomplete, or improperly closed.
- Before each use, check housing and accessories for deteriorated insulation; set aside for repair/scrapping if found.
- All troubleshooting and calibration checks must be completed by accredited personnel.
- Do not apply or remove sensors from hazardous live parts or systems.
Charging the Battery
- Press the power button to turn the instrument ON.
- If the battery indicator is less than full (e.g., ? [Battery Low]), connect to external power via the USB cable. The indicator will blink while charging.
- When fully charged, the battery indicator will stop blinking and appear full (e.g., ? [Battery Full]).
Initial Setup
WARNING: Connect the instrument to the DataView® control panel to set the date before first use.
Some features can be configured via the instrument keypad (e.g., Wi-Fi type). Other configurations require connection to DataView®. Refer to the user manual on the USB drive for detailed instructions.
Connecting Your Instrument to Your Computer:
- Install the DataView® software. Ensure the Data Logger Control Panel is selected (default). Deselect any other Control Panels not needed. For DataView reports, select DataView® Core.
- If prompted, restart your computer after installation.
- Connect the instrument to the computer via Wi-Fi Direct (access point) or USB.
- Wait for drivers to install. The operating system will display messages indicating installation progress.
- Launch the Data Logger Control Panel from the desktop shortcut (in the DataView® folder).
- In the menu bar, click 'Instrument', then select 'Add an Instrument'.
- The 'Add an Instrument Wizard' dialog box will open. Follow the on-screen prompts to select your instrument type and model.
- For first-time connections, choose USB or Wi-Fi access point (Wi-Fi Direct). USB connections can be changed to Ethernet (Wi-Fi) or IRD server later.
- Choose the connection type and click 'Next'.
- Once the instrument is identified, click 'Finish'. The instrument is now communicating with the Control Panel.
- The instrument will appear in the Data Logger Network branch in the Navigation frame with a green check mark (✔️) for a successful connection.
