HEMNES Bed Frame Assembly Instructions
General Assembly Advice
Before starting assembly, ensure you have all parts and tools. Two people are recommended for assembly. Protect your floor surfaces during assembly. Periodically re-tighten screws and connectors for optimal stability. If any parts are missing or damaged, please contact IKEA customer support.
Tools Required: Phillips screwdriver, flathead screwdriver, Allen key, wrench.
Assembly Steps
Step 1: Attach Side Rails to Headboard and Footboard
Insert 18 wooden dowels (105163) into the pre-drilled holes on the headboard and footboard. Attach the side rails (124401, 124402) to the headboard and footboard using 4 cam lock nuts (113434) and 4 cam lock screws (122332) per side. Insert 4 screws (118331) into the side rails.
Step 2: Attach Support Rails
Attach the two long support rails (124401) to the inside of the side rails using 4 screws (101352) on each side. Insert 4 wooden dowels (101359) into the pre-drilled holes on the support rails.
Step 3: Attach Slats Support Brackets
Attach the metal brackets (113434, 122332) to the support rails using 3 cam lock nuts (113434) and 3 cam lock screws (122332) per bracket. Ensure correct orientation of the brackets.
Step 4: Insert Dowels into Support Rails
Insert 2 wooden dowels (101352) into the pre-drilled holes on each support rail.
Step 5: Insert Dowels into Support Rails
Insert 2 wooden dowels (101352) into the pre-drilled holes on each support rail.
Step 6: Attach Bracket to Support Rail
Attach a bracket (113434, 122332) to the support rail using 1 cam lock nut (113434) and 1 cam lock screw (122332).
Step 7: Attach Headboard/Footboard to Side Rails
Attach the headboard and footboard to the side rails using 4 screws (118331).
Step 8: Insert Dowels into Side Rails
Insert 6 wooden dowels (101352) into the pre-drilled holes on the side rails.
Step 9: Attach Bracket to Side Rail
Attach a bracket (113434, 122332) to the side rail using 1 cam lock nut (113434) and 1 cam lock screw (122332).
Step 10: Attach Brackets to Side Rails
Attach brackets (113434, 122332) to the side rails. Use 3 cam lock nuts (113434) and 3 cam lock screws (122332) for one bracket, and 1 cam lock nut (113434) and 1 cam lock screw (122332) for the other bracket.
Step 11: Insert Dowels into Side Rails
Insert 6 wooden dowels (101352) into the pre-drilled holes on the side rails.
Step 12: Attach Support Rails
Attach the support rails to the side rails using 4 screws (100087) and 4 screws (100092).
Step 13: Insert Screws into Side Rails
Insert 2 screws (111451) into the side rails.
Step 14: Insert Screws into Side Rails
Insert 2 screws (111451) into the side rails.
Step 15: Insert Dowels into Headboard/Footboard
Insert 3 wooden dowels (101359) into the pre-drilled holes on the headboard and footboard.
Step 16: Attach Bracket to Side Rail
Attach a bracket assembly consisting of screw (104875), bracket (100089), and bracket (102335) to the side rail.
Step 17: Insert Dowels into Headboard/Footboard
Insert 3 wooden dowels (101359) into the pre-drilled holes on the headboard and footboard.
Step 18: Attach Bracket to Side Rail
Attach a bracket assembly consisting of screw (104875), bracket (100089), and bracket (102335) to the side rail.
Step 19: Insert Dowels into Headboard
Insert 6 wooden dowels (101359) into the pre-drilled holes on the headboard.
Step 20: Attach Brackets to Side Rails
Attach bracket assemblies to the side rails. Each assembly uses 2 screws (104875), 2 brackets (100089), and 2 brackets (102335).
Step 21: Attach Bed Base Support System
Attach the bed base support system components to the side rails using 16 screws (105163), 16 screws (110789), and 16 screws (105307).
Step 22: Attach Brackets to Side Rails
Attach brackets to the side rails using 2 screws (105307) and 2 brackets (116791).
Step 23: Prepare Support Rails
Slide the end pieces (124402) onto the support rails.
Step 24: Place Support Rails
Place the prepared support rails into the bed frame.
Step 25: Secure Support Rail
Secure one support rail (124401) to the bed frame using 1 screw (117327).
Step 26: Slide Support Rails
Slide the support rails (124401) into their final positions.
Step 27: Secure Support Rail
Secure the support rail to the bed frame using 1 screw (117327).
Step 28: Secure Support Rails
Secure the support rails to the bed frame using 2 screws (117327).
Step 29: Place Slats and Secure
Insert 2 dowels (191315) and 2 dowels (105163) into the headboard. Place the bed slats onto the support rails. Secure the slats using 8 screws (105163) and 8 screws (191315).
Care and Maintenance
Wipe clean with a cloth dampened in a mild cleaner. Wipe dry with a clean cloth. For increased stability, re-tighten the screws and other connectors when necessary.
