THINKSCAN Quick Start Guide

Device Overview

The THINKSCAN device features a screen, power button, status indicators for 'Power' and 'No DTC', and buttons for 'Pending DTC', 'Permanent DTC', 'DTC F1', 'ER F2', 'I/M F3', and '?' F4, along with navigation buttons (up, down, left, right) and an 'OK' button.

Register & Update

Prerequisite conditions:

1. Go to http://www.mythinkcar.com to download the update tool and install it on your computer.
2. System requirements: Windows XP, 7, 8, or Windows 10.

Tip: Please check the Quick Start Guide before upgrading.

Update Process:

1. Write down the serial number and registration code.
2. Remove the TF card from the device, insert it into a card reader, and connect it to your computer. The device has a memory card slot.

Tips: Please purchase a TF card reader separately.

Installation Tool:

Follow the on-screen prompts for the Product Update Tool setup. You can choose to 'Modify', 'Repair', or 'Remove' the program.

TF Upgrade Mode:

Select the 'TF' connection mode and click 'OK'.

Device Upgrade:

1. Verify that the Product Serial Number displayed in the Update Tool matches the serial number of your machine. If they are consistent, click 'Device Upgrade'.
2. Enter your E-mail address and Register Code, then click '[Submit]' to complete the sign-up process.

Note: The registration screen will only appear during the initial use. Subsequent upgrades will not require re-registration.

Software Download:

By default, the system will download the latest version of the software. Click 'Download'. The synthesis upgrade tool allows selection of multiple languages including English, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, Japanese, Czech, Polish, Italian, Korean, and Turkish. You can select specific software packages for update, such as TS660_FIRMWARE, Audi, Mercedes-Benz/Maybach, BMW/Rolls Royce/Mini, CHRYSLER, Citroen, Dacia, Daewoo, Fiat/Abarth/Alfa Romeo/Lancia, GM/Chevrolet/Cadillac/Buick, HOLDEN, Honda/Acura, Hyundai, Jaguar, Isuzu/Isuzu (Thailand), Kia, Land Rover/Jaguar, Mahindra, Maruti, and MAZDA, along with their respective versions and release dates.

Final Update Step:

1. Reinsert the memory card into the tool and initiate the update. Once all steps are completed, locate the memory card slot on the tool and reinsert the memory card.
