Installation Instructions
Before Using Your Refrigerator
- Remove exterior and interior packing.
- Allow the refrigerator to stand upright for approximately 4 hours after transportation before connecting to power to prevent cooling system malfunctions.
- Clean the interior with lukewarm water and a soft cloth.
Installing Your Refrigerator
- This appliance is designed for freestanding use only; do not recess or build-in.
- Place on a floor strong enough to support the fully loaded refrigerator.
- Allow 5 inches of space at the back and sides for ventilation. Adjust feet to level the refrigerator.
- Locate away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ambient temperatures outside 50°F (10°C) - 85°F (29.4°C) will affect performance. Not for garage or outdoor use.
- Avoid moist areas.
- Plug into a dedicated, properly installed-grounded wall outlet. Do not remove the ground prong. Contact a certified electrician for power/grounding questions. Not for RVs or use with inverters.
- After plugging in, turn on the unit and allow it to cool for 2-3 hours before adding food.
Electrical Connection
⚠️ WARNING Improper use of the grounded plug can result in electrical shock. If the power cord is damaged, have it replaced by an authorized service center.
This refrigerator requires proper grounding via its three-prong plug. Do not remove the ground prong. It requires a standard 115/120 Volt A.C. ~/60Hz electrical outlet. It is not designed for use with an inverter.
Secure the cord behind the refrigerator to prevent accidental injury. Never unplug by pulling the cord; grip the plug firmly and pull straight out.

Operating Your Refrigerator
Temperature Control
- The temperature control is located on the top center of the refrigerator compartment.
- For first-time use, set the knob to "7" and run for at least 2 hours before loading food to ensure thorough chilling.
- Temperature range: "1" (warmest) to "7" (coldest). Setting "4" is recommended for home/office use.
- Setting "0" stops the cooling cycle but does not shut off power.
NOTE:
- If unplugged or power is lost, wait 3-5 minutes before restarting.
- Large amounts of food reduce cooling efficiency.
- Do not block air outlets; allow for airflow.
- Adjust thermostat settings one increment at a time, allowing several hours for stabilization.
Ice Tray
- Recommended setting for ice making: "7".
- Fill ice cube tray (2/3 capacity) with cold water and place in the chiller compartment.
- To eject ice cubes, place tray over an ice bucket and twist.
- Reset temperature control to "4".
The Freezer Compartment
- Designed for long-term frozen food storage.
- Do not exceed recommended storage times for frozen foods.
- Place frozen food in the freezer promptly after purchase, following any packet instructions.
When To Defrost
This unit does not defrost automatically. Manually defrost every 3 months or when ice/frost is approximately 1/4" thick inside the freezer compartment.
How To Defrost
Defrost when ice/frost is approximately 1/4" thick or every 3 months. Set thermostat to "0". Remove all contents. Leave the door open for melting. Remove large ice pieces as needed. Do not use hot water or electric devices. After defrosting, remove meltwater and wipe dry. If ice is not visible, allow the evaporator behind the freezer wall to defrost for approximately 2 hours before restarting.
How To Change the Interior Light
NOTE: Save all removed parts for reinstallation. Unplug the appliance before changing the bulb to avoid shock or injury.
- Remove the lamp cover by unscrewing.
- Unscrew the old bulb from the lower hole at the thermostat control box.
- Replace with a new bulb of the same voltage and screw size.
- Re-install the lamp cover by screwing.

- Dry interior and exterior with a soft cloth.
Vacation Time
- For short vacations (less than 3 weeks): Leave the refrigerator operating.

- Use extreme caution regarding child access.
Moving Your Refrigerator
- Turn off and unplug the unit.

- Secure loose items inside and tape doors shut.
- Transport in an upright position.
Energy Saving Tips

- Wrap foods properly and wipe containers dry to reduce frost build-up.
- Organize food to minimize door openings. Close the door promptly.
Troubleshooting Guide
Problem | Possible Cause |
---|---|
Refrigerator does not operate. | Not plugged in. The circuit breaker tripped or a blown fuse. |
Compressor turns on and off frequently. | Room temperature is too high. Large amount of food added. Door opened too often. Door not closed completely. Temperature control not set correctly. Door gasket does not seal properly. Incorrect clearances. Refrigerator recently disconnected (allow 4 hours to cool). |
Temperature inside the refrigerator is too warm. | Temperature control set too warm. Door kept open too long or opened too frequently. Door not closed completely. Door gasket does not seal properly. Large amount of warm/hot food recently stored. Refrigerator recently disconnected (allow 4 hours to cool). |
Temperature inside the refrigerator is too cold. | Temperature control set too cold. |
Temperature of external refrigerator surface is warm. | Exterior walls can be up to 30°F warmer than room temperature; this is normal as the compressor transfers heat. |
Popping or cracking sound when compressor comes on. | Metal parts undergo expansion and contraction, similar to hot water pipes. This is normal. |
Bubbling or gurgling sound, like water boiling. | Refrigerant is circulating throughout the system; this is normal. |
Vibrations. | Ensure the refrigerator is on a level surface. Floor may be uneven or weak. Level the refrigerator with shims if necessary. |
Moisture forms on inside refrigerator walls. | The refrigerator is touching the wall. Re-level and move away from the wall. |
Moisture forms on outside of refrigerator. | Weather is hot and humid, increasing frost build-up (normal). Door is slightly open. Door kept open too long or too frequently. Door not sealed properly. Door slightly open, causing cold air to meet warm moist air. |
The door will not close properly. | Refrigerator is not on a level surface. The gasket is dirty. |
