Children

Your device and its accessories are not toys. They may contain small parts. Keep parts out of reach of children.

Medical devices

Wireless transmission devices (including wireless phones) may interfere with medical devices that have inadequate protection. Consult your physician or the medical device manufacturer to confirm whether these medical devices are adequately protected against external radio frequency energy.

Implanted medical devices

To avoid interfering with implanted medical devices (such as pacemakers, insulin pumps, and nerve stimulators), manufacturers of medical devices recommend maintaining a minimum distance of 15.3 cm (6 inches) between the wireless device and the medical device. People who use these devices should adhere to the following:

  • Always maintain a distance of more than 15.3 cm (6 inches) between the wireless device and the pacemaker.
  • Do not carry the wireless device in a breast pocket.
  • If there is any reason to suspect interference, turn off the wireless device.
  • Follow the instructions of the medical device manufacturer.

If you have any questions about using your wireless device with an implanted medical device, ask your physician.

Hearing

Warning: Using earphones may affect your ability to hear ambient sounds. Do not use earphones in situations where your safety may be compromised. Some wireless devices may interfere with hearing aids.

Protecting your device from harmful content

Your device may be exposed to viruses and other harmful content. Take the following precautions:

  • Be cautious when opening messages. Messages may contain malicious software or other content that could damage your device or personal computer.
  • Install antivirus and other security software on your device and any connected computers. Use only one antivirus application at a time. Using multiple antivirus applications may affect the performance and operation of your device or computer.
  • Be careful when accepting connection requests or browsing the internet or downloading content. Do not accept Bluetooth connections from sources you do not trust.
  • Only install and use services and software from sources that you trust and that provide adequate security measures.
  • If you access third-party website bookmarks and links that are pre-installed, take appropriate precautions. HMD Global does not endorse these websites and is not responsible for their content.

Cars

Wireless signals may cause electronic systems in your vehicle that are not properly installed or shielded to malfunction. For more information, consult your vehicle or its equipment manufacturer. Devices should only be installed in vehicles by authorized service personnel. Improper installation can be dangerous and may void the warranty. Regularly check all wireless devices installed in your vehicle to ensure they are properly installed and functioning correctly. Do not place flammable or explosive materials in the vehicle's storage compartments, along with the device and its parts or accessories. Do not place the device or accessories in areas where an airbag might deploy.

Potential explosion hazards

In areas with potentially explosive atmospheres (such as near fuel pumps), turn off your device. Sparks from the device could cause an explosion or fire, resulting in injury or death. This includes, but is not limited to, refueling areas, storage areas for oil or fuel, chemical plants, or areas where blasting is in progress. Areas with potentially explosive atmospheres are not always clearly marked. These areas often include areas where you are advised to turn off your vehicle engine, the deck of a ship, facilities for the transfer or storage of chemicals, and areas where the air contains chemicals or fine particles, such as grain, dust, or metal powder. Ask your vehicle manufacturer about using your device in vehicles that use liquefied petroleum gas (such as propane or butane) and check whether it is safe to use the device near these vehicles.

Certifications

This mobile device complies with international guidelines for exposure to radio waves. This mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver that does not exceed the limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy recommended by international non-governmental organizations, such as ICNIRP. These limits are part of comprehensive guidelines designed to protect the public from radio wave exposure and to ensure that all people are protected, regardless of age and health. The exposure standard for mobile devices employs a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), which is the amount of RF energy absorbed by the body when the device is used. The SAR limit recommended by ICNIRP for mobile devices is an average of 2.0 W/kg over 10 grams of tissue. SAR tests are conducted at the device's highest certified transmission power in all tested frequency bands. For normal use, the SAR value is typically much lower than the maximum value. This is because the device automatically reduces its transmission power when not needed for voice communication, thus reducing RF exposure. The SAR value decreases as the transmission power decreases. To increase system efficiency and reduce network interference, the transmission power of your mobile device is automatically reduced when it is not needed for voice communication. The lower the transmission power, the lower the SAR value.

Different device models may have different versions, so there may be more than one value. Components and designs may change over time, and some changes may affect SAR values. For more information, visit www.sar-tick.com. Note: Your mobile device may be transmitting even when you are not making a voice call.

The World Health Organization (WHO) states that currently, based on scientific information, there is no need for special precautions when using mobile devices. If you want to reduce your exposure, the WHO recommends that you limit your usage or use a hands-free accessory to keep the device away from your head and body. For more information and discussion on radio frequency exposure, visit the World Health Organization website at www.who.int/health-topics/electromagnetic-fields#tab=tab_1.

The maximum SAR value for the device can be found at www.hmd.com/sar.
