Zehnder Immersion Heater Control (IHC) Quick Start Guide
This guide provides essential information for setting up and operating your Zehnder Immersion Heater Control (IHC) unit.
Unit Components and Indicators
- A. Frost protection mode
- Activates a low temperature setting to prevent freezing.
- B. Eco mode
- Energy-saving mode for reduced heating output.
- C. Display
- Shows the set temperature, timer mode duration, and other status information.
- D. Rotary knob
- Used to navigate menus and adjust settings by pressing and turning.
- E. Standby mode/heating indication
- White icon ⚪: Radiator is not heating.
- Green icon ?: Radiator is heating.
- Red icon ?: An error has occurred.
- F. Connection status
- Indicates the status of the connection to the heating system or network.
- G. Timer mode
- Allows scheduling of heating periods.
- H. Comfort mode
- Maintains a desired comfortable temperature.
Basic Operation Steps
1. Select Heating Mode
Use the rotary knob (D) to cycle through available heating modes (e.g., Frost Protection, Eco, Timer, Comfort). Press the knob to select the desired mode.
Visual sequence: Display shows different mode icons (e.g., snowflake, leaf, clock, person) as the rotary knob is turned and pressed.
2. Select Room Temperature
Turn the rotary knob (D) to adjust the desired room temperature. Press the knob to confirm the setting. The display will show the current temperature and the selected temperature.
Visual sequence: Display shows temperature adjustments using the rotary knob. Example: 17°C ➡️ 21°C ➡️ 16°C ➡️ 16.5°C ➡️ 16.9°C.
3. Timer Mode (Select Duration)
When in Timer mode, use the rotary knob (D) to set the duration for the heating period. Press the knob to confirm.
Visual sequence: Display shows timer duration adjustments. Example: 60m ➡️ 65m ➡️ 10m ➡️ 36m ➡️ 24m.
4. Select Surface Temperature
Use the rotary knob (D) to select the desired surface temperature for the radiator. Press the knob to confirm.
Visual sequence: Display shows surface temperature adjustments. Example: 16.0°C ➡️ 18.0°C ➡️ 18.0°C ➡️ 17.5°C ➡️ 17.4°C.
5. Pairing IHC and RCE (Accessory)
If you are using the RCE accessory (e.g., a remote control), follow these steps to pair it with the IHC unit. This typically involves pressing and holding buttons on both devices for a specified time (e.g., 3 seconds).
Visual sequence: Shows the IHC unit and the RCE accessory. Steps involve pressing buttons on the IHC (e.g., holding a button for 3s) and then interacting with the RCE buttons (e.g., ➕, ➖, G, S) to establish a connection.
