Sena SF4 Quick Start Guide
Device Overview
The Sena SF4 features the following buttons and indicators:
- (+) Button: Used for various functions, often in combination with other buttons or for specific operations.
- Center Button: The primary button for most operations like answering calls, pairing, and power control.
- (-) Button: Used for various functions, often in combination with other buttons or for specific operations.
- Charging LED: Indicates the charging status of the device.
Installation
Follow these steps to install the Sena SF4 on your helmet:
- Attach the main unit to the helmet clamp.
- Secure the clamp to the helmet.
- Install the speakers inside the helmet.
- Connect the speaker wires to the main unit.
- Attach the microphone to the helmet.
- Connect the microphone wire to the main unit.
Sena Motorcycles App
Download the Sena Motorcycles app from the:
- Android: Google Play Store > Sena Motorcycles
- iOS: App Store > Sena Motorcycles
Sena Device Manager
The Sena Device Manager allows firmware upgrades and settings configuration directly from a PC or Apple computer. Download it from sena.com.
Charging
Connect the charging cable to the device. The LED indicator shows the charging status:
- Red: Charging
- Blue: Fully charged
Button Operation
Various operations are performed using button presses:
- Tapping: A quick press and release of a button.
- Double Tapping: Pressing and releasing a button twice in quick succession.
- Press for 1 sec: Press and hold a button for one second.
- Press and Hold: Press and hold a button for a longer duration (e.g., 5 or 10 seconds).
Power On/Off
- Power On: Press the Center Button and the (+) Button for 1 second.
- Power Off: Tap the Center Button and the (+) Button.
Volume Adjustment
Adjust volume by tapping the (+) Button or the (-) Button.
Battery Check
The LED indicator displays the battery level after powering on:
- 70 ~ 100%: Multiple blue segments.
- 30 ~ 70%: Multiple red segments.
- 0 ~ 30%: Multiple blue and red segments.
Phone, Music Pairing
- Press and hold the Center Button for 10 seconds to enter pairing mode.
- On your phone's Bluetooth settings, select "Sena SF4".
- Enter "0000" for the PIN if prompted.
Music Operation
- Play/Pause Bluetooth music: Press the Center Button for 1 second.
- Track forward/back: Press the (+) Button or the (-) Button for 1 second.
Mobile Phone Call Making and Answering
- Answer call: Tap the Center Button.
- End call: Press the Center Button for 2 seconds.
- Call a Voice Assistant: Press the Center Button for 3 seconds.
- Speed Dial: Press the (+) Button for 3 seconds.
- Reject incoming call: Press the Center Button for 2 seconds.
Intercom Pairing
Pair two Sena SF4 units for intercom communication:
- On both headsets, press and hold the Center Button for 5 seconds to enter pairing mode (LED flashes red).
- Tap the Center Button on either headset to initiate pairing.
Intercom Start/End
- Start/End each intercom: Tap the Center Button.
- End all intercoms: Press the Center Button for 3 seconds.
- Start Group Intercom: Tap the (+) Button and the (-) Button simultaneously (Green flashing LED).
- End Group Intercom: Press the Center Button for 3 seconds.
Radio Operation
- Radio On/Off: Press the (-) Button for 1 second.
- Seek Stations: Tap the Center Button or double tap the (+) or (-) Button.
- Scan Up FM Band: Press the (+) Button for 1 second to start scanning. Press the (+) Button for 1 second again to stop.
- Save to preset while scanning: Tap the Center Button when the desired station is found.
- Move to Preset Station: Press and hold the Center Button for 1 second to cycle through preset stations (1-10).
- Save Preset: Press and hold the Center Button for 3 seconds, then tap the (+) Button to select a preset number (1-10) or tap the (-) Button to cancel.
- Delete Preset: Press and hold the Center Button for 3 seconds, then tap the (-) Button to select a preset number (1-10) to delete or tap the (+) Button to cancel.
Setting
Configuration Menu
Access the configuration menu by pressing and holding the Center Button for 10 seconds.
Troubleshooting
Factory Reset
To restore the Sena SF4 to factory default settings, use the Factory Reset option in the configuration menu. The headset will automatically restore settings and turn off.
Fault Reset
If the Sena SF4 is not working properly, reset it by gently pushing the pin-hole reset button located on the back of the main unit.
