Inspection Modes
The device supports three primary inspection modes:
Built-in Screen
Operate the Mighty Cam Eidos using its integrated 11.6" HD monitor.
HDMI Mode
Connect the Mighty Cam Eidos to an external screen via HDMI for an expanded viewing experience. The user interface (UI) can be displayed on either the built-in screen or the external HDMI screen, selectable via the 'UI Position' setting.
PC Mode
Connect the Mighty Cam Eidos to a PC via USB to utilize compatible third-party software, such as the Windows Camera App. To exit PC mode, disconnect the USB cable and restart the device.
Camera Tab
Access camera settings through the 'Camera' tab:
Exposure
Adjusts the camera's exposure settings. When 'Auto Exposure' is enabled, the 'Target Value' slider controls the desired exposure level. 'Exposure Time' and 'Gain' are not adjustable in Auto Exposure mode. A reset button ? is available to restore default exposure parameters and enable 'Auto Exposure'.
White Balance
To set the white balance, place a white card under the microscope, adjust focus, and click 'Auto'. This automatically adjusts color temperature for optimal viewing. The 'Auto' feature may prevent individual RGB value adjustments. Clicking 'Once' performs a single white balance adjustment. For manual RGB adjustments, disable 'Auto' white balance.
Parameter Adjustment
Fine-tune image parameters using sliders:
- Contrast: Adjusts the variation between light and dark areas.
- Saturation: Modifies the intensity of colors.
- Brightness: Controls the overall lightness and darkness.
- Sharpness: Adjusts the contrast of image edges.
- Denoise: Removes digital noise from the image.
- Hue: Shifts the color values in the image.
- Gamma: Adjusts the contrast between light and dark tones.
A reset icon ? allows resetting all camera parameters to factory defaults.
Tool Functions
Various tools are available for image manipulation and analysis:
- ?➕ Zoom in: Digitally enlarge the image up to 5x.
- ?➖ Zoom out: Reduce image size.
- ➡️ Pan tool: Move across different parts of the screen when the image is zoomed in.
- ↔️ Horizontal flip: Horizontally flip the image.
- ↕️ Vertical Flip: Vertically flip the image.
- ❄️ Freeze: Locks the current on-screen image.
- ⚪⚫ Monochromatic: Convert the image to grayscale.
- ⚖️ Compared: Compare the current image with a saved image from the USB drive.
- ? Four-Screen: Splits the screen into 4 sections for simultaneous viewing.
Measure Tab
Utilize measurement tools by selecting the 'Measure' tab:
Measurement Tools
- • Point: Create a point to display its coordinates.
- ─ Line: Create a line by selecting start and end points, displaying the measurement value.
- Parallel Lines: Create a line, then a parallel line with a connecting vertical line.
- Polyline: Create a series of connected points, displaying the total length.
- ⌒ Arc: Create a 3-point arc, displaying radius and angle.
- ⚪ Radius Circle: Create a circle, displaying its radius.
- ⚪ Diameter Circle: Create a circle, displaying its diameter.
- Three Point Circle: Create a circle and display its radius.
- Circle to Line: Create a circle and display its radius.
- Concentric Circles: Create two concentric circles, displaying their radii.
- Double Circle: Create two circles and display the distance between their centers.
- ? Angle: Create an angle from three points, displaying the degree.
- ? 4-Point Angle: Create an angle from four points, displaying the degree.
- ↕️─ Vertical Line: Create a vertical line, displaying its length.
- ▭ Rectangle: Create a rectangle, displaying area and perimeter.
- ⬟ Polygon: Create a polygon, displaying area and perimeter.
- ✍️ Draw: Freely draw on the screen.
- ? Text: Add text annotations via a pop-up dialog.
Measurement Actions
- ➡️ Move: Reposition points, lines, text, and circles.
- ?️ Delete: Remove individual measurements or annotations.
- ?️?️ Delete All: Remove all measurements and annotations at once.
- ? Screenshot: Capture the current screen with measurements and UI elements.
- ? Form: View measurement details and export them as an Excel file to the USB drive.
Calibration
Calibrate the device for accurate measurements:
- Click the '+' icon ➕ to create a new calibration.
- Name your calibration.
- Select the appropriate measurement tool.
- Enter the measurement value and select the unit used for calibration.
- Save the calibration ✔️.
You can also select a previously saved calibration. Options are available to Add, Delete ?️, Edit ✏️, Save ✔️, and Lock ? new or existing calibrations.
Measurement Attributes
Customize the appearance of measurements:
- Line Color: Choose the color for measurement lines.
- Line Width: Adjust the thickness of measurement lines.
- Font Color: Select the color for text annotations.
- Font Size: Adjust the size of text annotations.
- Precision: Choose the number of decimal places for measurements.
- Capture: Allows capturing points within measured positions.
Grid Settings
Configure grid overlays:
- Group: Select grid line groups.
- Line: Enable or disable grid lines.
- Color: Choose the color of grid lines.
- Line Width: Set the thickness of grid lines.
- Show: Display or hide grid lines.
- Reset: Restore grid properties to default.
Scale Ruler
Configure the scale ruler:
- Scale Display: Show or hide the scale ruler.
- Position: Adjust the position of the scale ruler.
- Line Color: Choose the color of the scale ruler.
- Line Width: Adjust the thickness of the scale ruler.
Settings Tab
Modify device properties via the 'Settings' tab:
- Language: Switch between supported languages.
- Power Frequency: Select 50 Hz or 60 Hz for anti-flicker requirements.
- Storage: Choose the device for storing files.
- UI Position: Select display output between the Eidos monitor and an external HDMI monitor.
- Auto Hide Interface: The toolbar automatically shows when the mouse hovers over it.
- Recording Method: Choose whether to display measurements and UI elements during video recording.
- Factory Reset: Restore the Eidos to its original factory settings.
- Date: Set the current date and time.
Toolbar management:
- Show/hide the side toolbar ?️/??️. (When hidden, a simple measurement toolbar appears under the 'Measure' tab).
- Move side toolbar to the left/right side of the screen ➡️/⬅️.
Top Toolbar
Access core functions from the top toolbar:
- ? Photograph: Capture a still image.
- ⏱️ Camera Timer: Set a timer for capturing images over a period. Options include 'Total time mode' (number of photos) and 'Interval time mode' (frequency). Includes Start, Pause, Stop, and Close controls.
- ? Screenshot: Capture the entire screen, including measurements and UI elements.
- ▶️ Record Video: Start or stop video recording. A recording indicator and time will be displayed. Requires at least 50 MB of free space.
- ?️ Gallery: View captured photos and video files.
Gallery
The Gallery allows viewing and managing captured media:
- View captured photos and View recorded videos.
- Navigate pages: Displays the current page number, allows going to the next ▶️ or previous ◀️ page, and jumping to the first ⏪ or last ⏩ page.
- Sort by name or date with options for ascending or descending order.
- Delete ?️ individual or multiple files.
- Exit the gallery ?.
File Management
- Renaming: Select a file, right-click, and choose 'Rename', or double-click the file name to edit.
- Viewing File Information: Select a file, right-click, and choose 'Details' to view file information.
- Viewing Images: Double-click a photo to open it. Navigate between images using next/previous options.
- Playing Videos: Double-click a video to play it. Use play/pause controls, navigate between videos, and stop playback.
