Ducati Panigale V4SP2 Ignition, Keys, and Immobilizer System

Ignition Switch and Steering Lock

The ignition switch and steering lock are located in front of the fuel tank and feature three positions:

  • A) ON: Enables lights and engine operation.
  • B) OFF: Disables lights and engine operation.
  • C) LOCK: The steering is locked.

Note: To move the key to the LOCK position, press it down before turning it. The key can be removed in positions (B) and (C).

This system is associated with the Panigale V4SP2 model.

Keys and Immobilizer System

The motorcycle is supplied with two keys, each containing the "Immobilizer system code".

Keys (B) are designated for standard use, including:

  • Starting the engine.
  • Opening the fuel tank plug.
  • Opening the seat lock.

Attention: For security, separate the keys and use only one key to operate the motorcycle.

Duplicate Keys

If spare keys are needed, contact a Ducati authorised service centre and present your existing keys.

Immobilizer Functionality

The motorcycle is equipped with an engine electronic block system (immobilizer) for enhanced anti-theft protection. This system is automatically activated each time the instrument panel is switched off.

Each key contains an electronic device within its handgrip that modulates a signal. This modulated signal acts as a unique "password" that changes with each start, allowing the control unit to authenticate the key and enable engine starting.

Note: If the motorcycle ownership changes, it is necessary to program all keys for the new owner.

The Ducati authorised service centre may require proof of ownership to program keys. Missing key codes will be erased during the programming procedure to prevent any lost key from starting the engine.
