Draper Intelliflex I/O Typical Wiring Diagram with Contact Closure Interface
System Overview
This document illustrates the typical wiring configuration for the Draper Intelliflex I/O system, incorporating a contact closure interface. The diagram shows the interconnection of various Intelliflex I/O components, including network device connectors, smart motors, and control interfaces, along with power and network connections.
Diagrammatic Representation
The diagram depicts a central network bus connecting multiple components. Two motors, labeled 'M', are shown connected via motor data cables (7) and motor power cables (8) to Intelliflex I/O Network Device Connecters (NDC1 and NDC3, labeled 1 and 2 respectively). These NDC units manage network communication and power distribution. A Contact Closure Interface (4) is shown connecting to a third-party A/V system, facilitating external control via dry contact signals. The system also includes wall switches (3) for local control. Power (11) and junction boxes (10) are indicated as provided by others.

RJ45 Connector Pinout (T-568B)
The RJ45 connector for the motor data cable follows the T-568B standard:
- Pin 1: Orange/White
- Pin 2: Orange
- Pin 3: Green/White
- Pin 4: Blue
- Pin 5: Blue/White
- Pin 6: Green
- Pin 7: Brown/White
- Pin 8: Brown
Motor Power Cable Pinout
The 120V motor power cable uses M12 disconnects with the following pinout:
- Pin 1: Black (Hot)
- Pin 2: White (Neutral)
- Pin 4: Green (Ground)
- Pin 3: Not Used
LED Status Indicators
The Network Device Connectors (NDC) feature several LED indicators:
LED Name | LED Color | LED Display | Description |
---|---|---|---|
POWER | GREEN | Solid On | Power to the device |
NETWORK STATUS | RED | Solid On | Network termination has been set to ON |
NETWORK STATUS | YELLOW | Blinking | Communicating on the network. The blink pattern shows total number of devices on network. A short blink = 1 device; A long blink = 10 devices |
DEVICE | BLUE | Always On | Off - No device connected; Solid On - Device connected; Blinking - Device issue |
