Ensure the belt is kept as low on the hips as possible. Take up slack to ensure a snug fit. If the belt is fully extended and retracted, it cannot be re-extended beyond that point without full retraction. This feature helps secure child restraint systems.

Refer to the Owner's Manual for more information on seat belts and child restraint systems.

Tire Pressure Monitoring (Warning) System

System Reset Initialization

  1. Push and hold the "SET" button until the indicator blinks three times.
  2. Wait a few minutes for initialization to complete.

After adjusting tire pressures or rotating tires, turn the ignition to "ON" and press and hold the "SET" button until the indicator blinks three times. Allow the vehicle to sit for a few minutes.

If the tire pressure indicator flashes for over 60 seconds and remains on, contact a Toyota dealer.

Note: The warning light may appear due to temperature changes or natural air leakage. Setting correct tire pressures should turn off the light.

Doors - Child Safety Locks

For rear doors, moving the lever to "LOCK" prevents doors from being opened from the inside.

Seat Belts - Shoulder Belt Anchor

Adjust the shoulder belt anchor by pushing up or squeezing the lock release to lower.

Spare Tire & Tools

Tool Location

The spare tire, jack, and tool bag are typically located under the cargo area floor.

  2. Loosen the center fastener securing the spare tire.

Refer to the Owner's Manual for tire changing and jack positioning procedures.

Star Safety System™

The Star Safety System™ is standard on new Toyota vehicles and includes:

  • Vehicle Stability Control (VSC): Helps prevent loss of traction during cornering by reducing engine power and applying brake force.
  • Traction Control (TRAC): Helps maintain traction on slippery surfaces by applying brake force to spinning wheels.
  • Anti-lock Brake System (ABS): Prevents wheel lockup during braking, providing directional control.
  • Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD): Balances braking force between front and rear wheels.
  • Brake Assist (BA): Adds braking pressure during sudden or panic braking to reduce stopping distance.
  • Smart Stop Technology (SST): Automatically reduces driving torque when accelerator and brake pedals are pressed simultaneously under certain conditions.

Floor Mat Installation

Toyota offers carpeted and all-weather floor mats. Follow these steps for proper positioning:

  • Use only floor mats designed for your specific model.
