PE DESIGN 11 SOFTWARE CLASS

Course Overview

This class is an introduction to the main features of Brother's PE Design 11 “Photo Stitch” software. We will discuss the following topics:

• Menus & Program Layout
• Stitch Types & Properties
• Types of photos to use (size, quality, color vs. black & white)
• Removing busy backgrounds in photos (demonstration will include Photoshop)
• Setting up your file parameters for success
• Importing a photo for Photo Stitch
• Photo stitch settings and functions
• Photo Stitch #1 vs. Photo Stitch #2
• Ideal number of colors for photo stitch
• Best practices and tips for using Photo Stitch
• Exporting a design as a .PES file

Important: Out of respect to all attending, please ensure your computer has the software installed and is updated before coming to class.

Supply List

• Computer and mouse (mouse is required; laptop touchpad will not work)
• Regular USB Stick (for class files; the PE software Dongle CANNOT be used for class files)
• Notebook and pen
• PE Design 11 Software Dongle (USB needed)

Note: There are software limitations, such as "Saving" being disabled. Please read the trial version information on Brother's site or the synopsis below for details.

The trial version of PE-DESIGN 11 does not include the following functions and has less sample data than the product version:

Layout & Editing Functions Not Available in Trial:

• Saving created data
• Transferring a design to a card, USB media, or machine
• Transferring a design to a machine via wireless network
• Transferring a design by using the Link function
• Outputting Name Drop data
• Importing a design from a card or a machine
• Importing a design from a machine via wireless network
• Wireless network connectivity
• Exporting an FCM File
• Exporting a design into other formats
• Printing
• Converting TrueType Font to an embroidery pattern

Additional Features Not Available in Trial:

• Design Center
• Programmable Stitch Creator
• Font Creator
• Design Database
• Stitch Design Factory and Link
• Displaying embroidery designs in PES format as thumbnails with File Explorer (Windows 10/8.1) or Windows Explorer (Windows 7)

Class Cancellation Policy

To reserve a seat, full payment is required upon registration for all Pocono Sew & Vac classes.

Refunds:

• Students who notify PS&V at least 7 days in advance (by phone) are eligible for a full refund.
• Cancellations made less than 7 days before class will not be issued a refund.

Class Cancellation by Organizer:

• If a class does not meet the minimum number of participants 7 days prior to the class date, the class will be canceled by the instructor.
• Customers will receive a full refund within 7 to 10 business days in such cases.

Homework:

Some classes may require homework (e.g., cutting/prepping fabrics) to be completed before class. If homework is required, it will be posted in the class description. Please read the class description thoroughly before signing up. Failure to complete homework by the start of class may result in forfeiture of attendance and refund.
