Cox URC-2220-R Remote Control User Guide
This guide provides instructions for setting up and using your Cox URC-2220-R remote control.
Getting Started: First Steps
- Prepare for Setup: Ensure your TV is powered ON before starting the remote control setup.
- Install Batteries: Remove the battery cover. Insert 2 AAA batteries, matching the '+' and '-' marks. Replace the battery cover.
Note: The POWER button will blink 5 times with each button press when batteries need replacement.
Remote Control Key Functions
- POWER: Turns the TV ON/OFF.
- SETUP: Hold for 3 seconds to enter programming mode.
- GUIDE: Displays the program guide.
- SELECT: Use to navigate and select menu and guide options.
- VOL +/-: Adjusts volume up and down.
- MUTE: Turns the TV volume off.
- PG/CH +/-: Tunes channels up or down, and navigates pages in the guide.
- INFO: Displays information for the currently selected program.
- MENU: Displays the main cable menu.
- EXIT: Exits the current menu and returns to the current program.
- CC: Turns closed captions on or off.
- LAST: Recalls the last channel viewed.
- ZOOM: Stretches or shrinks screen size horizontally and vertically.
- INPUT: Cycles through video inputs on the TV.
Setup Method A: Popular Brands
- Press and hold SETUP until the POWER button blinks twice.
- Press the POWER button.
- Press and hold the DIGIT button for your TV brand (refer to the Popular Brands list).
- Release the button when your TV turns off. Setup is complete.
Note: If your brand is not listed, try Method B or Method C.
Confirmation: 2 blinks = SUCCESS, 1 long blink = FAILURE.
Setup Method B: Code Search
- Ensure TV is ON.
- Press and hold SETUP until the POWER button blinks twice.
- Enter the 1st TV code for your brand from the code list.
- Press the POWER button to test. If the TV turns off, setup is complete.
Note: If the TV does not turn off, repeat this process using the next code for your TV brand.
Tip: For exact codes, use the CODE FINDER at REMOTES.COX.COM.
Record Code: Write the working TV code here for future use.
Setup Method C: Direct Code Entry
- Ensure TV is ON.
- Press and hold the SELECT button.
- Release the SELECT button when the TV turns off or on. Setup is complete.

Troubleshooting
- Problem: The POWER button does not blink when a button is pressed.
- Solution: Replace batteries.
- Problem: TV does not respond when POWER or VOLUME buttons are pressed.
- Solution: Program the remote control for your TV brand using Setup Method A, B, or C.
- Problem: Tried all codes for my TV brand and none work.
- Solution: Try CODE SEARCH (Setup Method B) or visit REMOTES.COX.COM for additional support and the CODE FINDER search tool.
