Output Channels

Output channels are virtual channels recognized by Windows as Input devices. Upon installing Razer Synapse, the following output channels become available:

  • Stream Mix: Combines all input channels into a single stream. This can be set as the microphone or input device for streaming software (e.g., OBS, Twitch, Streamlabs) for individual volume control. Adjusting the Stream Mix slider affects the volume heard in recordings/streams.
  • Playback Mix: Allows listening to all channels via the selected playback device. The 3.5 mm headphone port on the microphone is the default playback device.

Controls for both output channels include:

  • Mute Stream Mix ?
  • Mute Playback Mix ?

Input Channels

Input channels are virtual channels recognized by Windows as Output devices. Applications can be assigned to specific input channels (e.g., Browser, Headphones, Game, Sound effects, System, Music) or Aux (1/2/3) channels.

Assigning applications to input channels allows individual volume control within Razer Synapse while using a single channel in streaming software.

Controls for all input channels include:

  • Slider: Adjusts the volume for Stream Mix and/or Playback Mix.
  • Link ?: Links Stream Mix and Playback Mix sliders for proportional volume adjustment.
  • Mute Stream Mix ?
  • Mute Playback Mix ?
  • Remove channel ❌

Add New Input

To add an input channel:

  1. Ensure the desired application is running.
  2. Go to Windows Sound Mixer Options.
  3. In the "App volume and device preferences" window, set the application's Output to the preferred virtual input channel (e.g., Spotify to Music, Google Chrome to Browser).
  4. In Razer Synapse, click "Add New Input" and select the newly configured virtual channel.

The Profiles tab helps manage profiles and link them to games and applications.
