Important Safety Instructions
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons. Always read all instructions before using the appliance.
- Plug directly into a 120V AC electrical outlet.
- Keep the cord out of heavy traffic areas and away from heat registers.
- DO NOT place humidifier near heat sources. Locate on an inside wall near an electrical outlet, at least 4 inches (10 cm) from the wall.
- NEVER place humidifier where accessible to children or use in a closed room where excessive humidity may cause damage.
- WARNING: Unplug the unit before refilling. Failure to heed this warning may cause personal injury.
- Never place anything over the moisture outlet when the unit is running.
- NEVER drop or insert any object into any openings.
- DO NOT operate with a damaged cord or plug, or if the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped/damaged. Return to manufacturer for examination or repair.
- Use only for intended household use.
- DO NOT use outdoors.
- Always place humidifier on a firm, flat, level surface. A waterproof mat or pad is recommended. NEVER place on rugs, carpets, or finished floors that may be damaged by moisture.
- DO NOT allow the Moisture Outlet to directly face the wall.
- Humidifier should be unplugged when not in use.
- NEVER tilt, move, or attempt to empty unit while operating. Shut off and unplug before removing the water tank and moving the unit.
- Requires daily and weekly maintenance. Use only recommended cleaners and additives.
- NEVER use detergents, gasoline, glass cleaner, furniture polish, paint thinner, or other household solvents.
- If moisture forms on walls or windows, turn the humidifier OFF. Do not use if humidity level exceeds 50%.
- DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust electrical or mechanical functions. No user-serviceable parts inside. All servicing by qualified personnel only.
- Never place housing under water flow or immerse in liquids.
- Do not plug in with wet hands.
- Do not pour water in any openings other than the water tank.
- To prevent surface damage, do not place humidifier under overhanging surfaces.
- NEVER operate unit without water in the tank.
- Do not move unit until it cools completely.
- Use both hands when carrying a full tank of water.
- The appliance has a polarized plug (one blade wider than the other) to reduce electric shock risk. It fits in a polarized outlet only one way. If it does not fit, reverse the plug or contact a qualified electrician. DO NOT modify the plug.

Pre-Operating Instructions:
- Ensure the humidifier is switched OFF (knob turned fully left).
- Select a location on a flat, level surface, about 4 inches from the wall, on a moisture-resistant surface.
- Remove the tank from the main housing.
- Turn the tank upside down, twist off the tank cap counter-clockwise. Fill with cool, fresh tap water. DO NOT use warm water. Replace the cap FIRMLY.
- Place the tank back on the base. Water will begin to empty into the base.
- Plug the humidifier into a 120V electrical outlet.
Operating Instructions:
- Turn the unit ON by rotating the Volume Control knob clockwise. Fully right provides highest moisture; left provides lower moisture with longer run time.
- When the humidifier runs out of water, the transducer automatically shuts off, and the fan continues to dry residual water.
- Once the tank is empty, turn the Power OFF and unplug the unit.
- Before refilling, empty any residual water from the base and tank. Follow daily maintenance instructions.
- Fill tank with cool, fresh tap water. DO NOT use warm water. Replace cap FIRMLY.
- Place tank on the base.
- Plug into a 120V electrical outlet.
Important Note: If not using for two or more days, drain all residual water from the tank and base to prevent algae or bacteria growth. Ensure the tank is dry.
WARNING: Do not move the humidifier with water in the tank or base, as this may cause overfilling of the transducer cavity and affect operation.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Proper maintenance is essential for efficient operation and to prevent algae or bacteria build-up.
Daily Maintenance:
- Ensure the unit is OFF and unplugged.
- Remove the tank and place in sink or tub.
- Drain any remaining water from the base. Rinse thoroughly to remove sediment or dirt. Wipe clean and dry with a cloth or paper towel. The base is dishwasher safe (top rack only).
- Refill the tank with cool tap water. Do not overfill.
Weekly Maintenance:
To Remove Scale:
- Repeat daily maintenance steps 1-3.
- Clean all surfaces with a soft brush. Gently scrub the area around the transducer. Wipe the base with a cloth dampened with undiluted white vinegar.
- Rinse clean with warm water to remove cleaning solution before disinfecting.
To Disinfect Tank and Base:
- Fill the humidifier tank half full with water and add 1/2 tablespoon of chlorine bleach.
- Let the solution stand for 20 minutes, swishing every few minutes. Wet all surfaces.
- Carefully empty the tank, and rinse with warm water until no bleach smell is detected. Dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
- Refill the water tank as directed and turn the unit on.
Storage Instructions:
When not using your humidifier for an extended period:
- Clean, rinse, and thoroughly dry the humidifier as directed in weekly maintenance. DO NOT leave water in the unit.
- Store the humidifier in its original carton in a cool, dry place.

- What variables affect run time? Run time depends on room air exchange, construction, temperature, humidity levels, occupant activity, and furnishings.
- How do I remove film on water tank? See Daily Maintenance instructions. Regular cleaning is recommended.
- How can I extend the run time? Run on the lowest setting. If unit has electronics, set to desired humidity level. Fill the tank fully, place on base, let water empty into base until bubbling stops, then refill tank.

Sunbeam Products, Inc. (doing business as Jarden Consumer Solutions) warrants this product for one year from the date of purchase against defects in material and workmanship. JCS, at its option, will repair or replace the product or any defective component. Replacements will be with new or remanufactured products/components. If the product is unavailable, a similar product of equal or greater value may be substituted.
This warranty is void if you attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical functions.
The warranty is valid for the original retail purchaser and is not transferable. Keep the original sales receipt as proof of purchase.
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear of parts.
- Damage from negligent use or misuse.
- Use on improper voltage or current.
- Use contrary to operating instructions.
- Disassembly, repair, or alteration by anyone other than JCS or an authorized service center.
- Acts of God (fire, flood, hurricanes, tornadoes).
